Taking a look at this Fade VOD review we start to see the problems that occur when you swap roles/agents. You'll notice that in a lot of rounds there is poor positioning which almost always translates into early deaths. Early deaths can mean a lot of things, but almost always it means that you are not able to provide the full value of your agent. In this case, Fade has a regenerating Haunt ability which is super nice for late round pushes. There is a lot to talk about in this VOD, I think that anyone who plays Fade or Initiators can learn from it! Enjoy!

What rank do you want to see in the first live coaching session? Let me know in the comments!!!
Def gold
Platinum
Diamond 3 How to get immortal
Gold plat area
Coach GOLD for sure, it’s a super common rank and is where people decide whether to commit to this game or play casual so it’s so good for people wanting to get better from gold
Whenever one of the teammates clutch can you show us the clutch too instead of skipping it and saying "that was a great clutch by omen" and similar things. I think it would be cool if you could show us why that clutch worked or what mistake the player's team makes which makes them lose a round they should win.
110 likes and no comment? I'll change that
This is a good req, hope OP takes it to heart
man I think the biggest thing I noticed was just that this player NEEDS to keep their gun out more often, its something that I struggle with sometimes too but there were so many situations where they had no info and yet the player was still just running around knife out. Good vod and good video!
I barely run with knife in this game, as holding knife is mostly useless. You dont even get any bonus credits for killing with knife anyways( unless if you want to switch positions quickly before round starts ).
I am pretty sure, those who pull out knifes often are mostly those players who wanna flex/see the animations of skins.
But yeah, I do get killed, when tryna use abilites. Like, when trying to flash as initiator or use smoke as controller, when going too ahead. I need some real timing improving with abilites, as solo q player, especially entrying as initiator. I am mostly entrying in solo q as initiator/controller, since no one cares to entry anyways.
BTW, any tips for solo q gameplay? I do try to communicate with teammates, but idk, everyone has their own ego, and especially having 3 or 4 duelists, who dont care to entry, and get kills mostly by baiting, end up blaming me for not winning, inspite of doing everything I can to ensure easier map control. I dont want to hate on duelist role, but looking at 90% of mains, just being useless lurkers and baiters, it just feels the role is almost useless.

The number one most important thing to remember when playing initiator is to stop using your abilities as soon as the round starts. Way too many players will instantly use their ability even if the team calls for a slow walk hit.
Sova players in particular, its just such a terrible tendency to have. Your utility is completely useless if you use it right away because your team isn’t close enough to take advantage of it. All it does is give away your teams positioning. You need to go quiet sometimes to catch them offguard and let the enemy make mistakes and push into your trap.
Its all about learning when to use your abilities. You don’t want to waste them but you also don’t want to die without using them. It takes a lot of time and experience to learn how to get the most value out of your abilities.
I had a fade teammate who literally just throws util around as much as he can. He wasted an idk 7 point ult on A main Ascent when the enemy wasn't even pushing and no1 peeked after it, nor did he. I was spectating this shit while typing in the chat pls stop throwing things randomly (I also typed a few rounds b4) and he was so confused lol.
I used to do that with Sova initially mostly using recon at the very start of defense. But since i switched to kayo, I focus more on timing of throwing dagger.
Using just the signature ability at the first 10 secods of round for initiators, the only advantage is that, you can have that signature ability back sooner when time for recharge is over
Wait what about enstanlishign map control on defense like you can eye arcade on fracture if you find no one you cautiously get control to arcade boom arcade covered if someone lurks to arcade yo kill ‘em is it wrong
Yeah i mean fair, I'm fine with people knowing where im at when i want my team to go in on site. Or defend on their side
The one thing I think everyone does with haunt is not throwing it on top of roofs. when you get it on the corner of a roof it'll actually spot people over objects. It's like shooting a sova dart at the ground, they can just hide from it.
Yeh thats what i was going to say aswell. The haunts in this video arent really good. He just throws them randomly where its in the middle of the enemies screen while if you keep switching up on which roof tops you throw it it becomes very hard to shoot. I recently started to pick up fade and throwing it high is the reason i love playing her. Theres so many times where you can flip momentum by it because it revealed people through a smoke and you got a pick or 2 out of it. Besides that the prowlers are so good to be able to get free info from, its just angles you dont have to pay attention for anymore. I only struggle to still properly use her seize
I'd love to see a low Plat/ high gold vod for coaching. I think that's a good balance of skill and mistakes that the majority of people can learn from.
This guy has the skill of a gold so good enough
For the very first video, you should do one of the middle ranks, plat/Gold, I think that’s where a lot of people are or were there at one point so it can be very relatable to a large group of the community
Thank you for this VOD
As a new diamond player, this will immensely help me!
I just don’t get why he’s pulling his knife out so much lol
Hey Dragonmar! I love the vids, love the energy and love the wisdom. You mention positioning often and would like more info regarding that i.e. having the minimap zoomed in and you're analyzing the play based on where everyone is at. Would like to know your thought process behind positioning and/or map awareness. THANKS SO MUCH!
My goal is to have a guide on this soon, its such an intricate concept and its REALLY hard to explain without going off on a 10 minute tangent. Stay tuned!
@@Dragonmar and do go off on that 10-minute tangent, I think what you know spills out in those moments! :D
Omg this is really useful for me bc i just started playing like a week ago and i got fade as my free agent. I just kept on doing deathmatch to improve my aim but heck i thought i was gonna do good with unrated after that. I was bad at playing fade bc im too aggressive, die early, and i forget to use her other skills. But again i love video since i was able to see what were my mistakes too!
That recon into that B "window" (leading into spawn) was kinda funny.
At 16:41, the Fade missed his prowler, which is why the jett didn't clear it.
I also noticed he kept using his E ability on long, when he could just use it on site to clear corners...
I know and he blamed the jett for not checking it! So sad for jett. Honestly trash util usage and I see SO MANY PEOPLE playing this champ and do this exact thing there's almost one every other game
9:58 playing Fade around A short also works extremely well. There are quite a few good easy haunt lineups around that area to scan short and into lobby. Throwing the haunt through the teleporter also can get some good value (giving you options). And a seize though TP also works great to stall a hooka push, and can get a lot of free kills along side a nade or Molly
"i hit radiant 2 years ago, and now im here to help you!"
I think u should do vods of silver-gold elo coz they are the one that need someone higher rank to point out their mistakes
Since i am hard stuck in s3 , i would like to see an omen review
And do you think i shoud play only duelist to get myself out of low elo
damn you didnt pick my fade vod sadge. good vod review tho good info
5:20 is a 1 star round for sure, its clear there is no plan for this round. Someone is spotted market and you have your knife out aimlessly jumping around. Why are you jump sporting long like that? Unless there is a comm both outside showers but there isn't if you think they could be long. In this set up the cross happens with Jett watching garden and you jump spotting hookah. If you want to spot garden you should jiggle the right of tube. In higher ranks they will walk into hookah and kill you for free jumping for long like that. The trip is outside hookah drop strengthening your cross not early info hookah. at 5:01 if you get timing and jett gets traded or worse gets none the round becomes winnable for attack. In high elo people win 1v1s more and don't give up in a 4v5. play like its you and jett v 5. It gives you a clear goal and will make you have a better idea of positioning.
facts but I think dragonmar grades the rounds on impact, he didnt have any impact, and he didnt really die from that mistake so its an ok round.
looking about how the diamound 1 plays fade i think I should be asscendant
yea this looks like a silver player. people don’t believe in op crutches, but yeah this is what it looks like lmao
I actually almost cried when u said he was a Jett/chamber AWP crutch. I too have been playing the same way and am the same rank as him i average around 2 kills a round with AWP but when i don't have it i struggle to find any combat value. I even grid aimlabs and dm all day but I am at the point of diminishing results i guess.
how u found anyway to improve?
@@nickr1304 yes I have its to play my agent more for what he is made. I have ranked up to d3 today with 80% of my matches as mvp.
I found that positioning beats aim every time. I have literally gotten 4k's off playing smart.
Still only play chamber but now my aim is a lot better use the aiming method by dragonmar it will improve ur raw aim. And for flashy aim see a yt video by sero on aiming.

More silver/gold players for review please and thank you! (Answering your question from the beginning of the video)
This one was really hard to watch Holy shit
Fr how is that guy diamond 1 💀
SAME!!! Mans playing like duelist instead of an initiator and HE DOESN'T KNOW LINEUPS?!!! SIR???
Definitely needs to learn some lineups. Throwing haunts right in front of a bunch of people every round is a waste as it will likely get shot. I switch up 3-5 lineups for the beginning of the round so the enemies don't know where to look to shoot it. Then, every so often don't throw it at all until they push or it's been 30+ seconds since they will start hiding from it to avoid getting caught. I also agree with not using the prowlers unless you've spotted someone with a haunt or you are clearing a corner for the team to push through. On bind, elbow, showers, and u-hall are all good spots to prowl to clear enemies.
man really hope I get the chance for first live coaching session but if not me I would at least like to see someone else who migjt be silver as well
What should an Omen buy in pistol round? I usually buy a Ghost and a Blind but I feel like I should prioritize utility more
My go-to is ghost, 2 smokes and a tp. Feels really balanced for a pistol round
I would love to see Gold :DDDD
Love the written notes on screen but they are a little too fast to read before it disappears
For the rank you should coach, I think Gold 3. It's really the time where the skill level changes drastically
I think first video would make sense to have Gold. Here's the reason:
Most players are below gold 1 which means a huge amount of the player population (and thus your viewers) are either trying to get gold or trying to get out of gold
Hi do you also do giveaways? I really need that rgx knife 😂
giveaway ended 3 days ago ?
gold
Lmao im plat/dia initiator player. I said to myself yesterday that im too agressive so pretty good timing.
Its a common problem honestly!
Lol. The only agent i'd recommend playing aggressive on both atk and def is skye. Her pop flashes can get a lot of value
@@satanlucifer and kayo too with how well rounded kayo is as an agent
I think you should review silver to plat because those ranks have the most room for improvement and you can provide the most advice to those players
Higher level players wouldn't watch then. I'd say silver mistakes are easy to spot by yourself and are self explanatory. D3 + is a lot more nuanced and it's difficult to realize what you're mistakes were and what you could've improved. I think there are enough silver vods that can be applied to a lot of mistakes in that rank
@@343JustMe i still think is some value to gain from higher ranks in sense that people can still preform very well in other aspects to get them to that rank but still have parts that went under the radar for them which explains why they would be stuck in a low high rank so it would beneficial.
@@tunnel77xx32 no I don't agree in any sense. I've watched the silver and gold gods and they're making mistakes on such a basic level that you don't need anyone to point those mistakes out for you if you're in a high rank. There's no benefit whatsoever from it. Plat and diamond aren't high rank, high rank is d3+ and I haven't seen anything that can be applied from silver vods into d3+ games
@@343JustMe okay, that might be true for you but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the same for others. Let's say I'm quite wrong here, it still would be very useful for alot of people since a major of the player base is in those ranks anyways, having some those high ranks as you say vod could be useful too so I don't see what wrong with making both types of videos.
i ama plat 2 fade main and i carry almost all the games while my team is just doing nothing and they have mechanics like silvers
U should coach budget radiant
silver 2
Can u do a gold vod review
Coach gold 2 player any type of agent is fine
Can anyone give me like 1 agent from each class I should use for solo queueing ranked?
Fade is definitely not the character to play if you're simply filling an initiator. Her abilities are very unique and require practice to get proper value of, and she also needs good communication.
If you're simply filling an initiator, I'd probably say Skye or Kay/o. All their abilities are easier to get value out of.
Can i submit my gameplay?
Im on desperate need of a vod im down Bad. Plat 2 to gold 2...
I would love for you coach a gold
siilver
i feel initiator in solo q is very tough.
pls do Plat or Dia Coaching i dont want to be hardstuck Plat anymore xD
keep doing different ranks a video
I think Bronze3 Silver1 is hard to break out of especially with solo queue
I don't know why I'm still diamond after watching this vid. I'm embarrassed at the fact that I'm the same rank as this fool
Gold would be nice since I'm Gold 1 lol. I'm not too fussy tho I just got promoted so I'm not hardstuck yet 😂
A jett chamber op crutch who is now playing fade? Is this me? Lol

bruh hes boosted
d1 lobby but radiant buddy
Surprised this is diamond. 2-4 kills per half, utility rarely helped the team, peeking with utility, mediocre aim, etc
As was said in the beginning he ranked up by oping as chamber/jett. He is obviously trying out something new here.
@@Mulmgott you would think his aim would be better as a chamber/ jett main tho lol
It bothers me that this fade doesn't know line ups, especially through the roof on b. LIKE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Wanna help get your team on site for b? PLAY B LONG! Want to know where the enemy team is while you're defending on B? PLAY HOOKAH AND THROW UR HAUNT THROUGH THE ROOF.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA this is so frustrating. STOP PLAYING LIKE YOU'RE A DUELIST.
