You guys need a flag guy but you ALSO need a languages guy. The ability to look at a language and generally know what it is is crazy useful in both country battle Royale and regular GeoGuessr. It’s not even about knowing the language, but knowing generally what letters different languages use more or the general vibe of the language
Finding the 505 and not only choosing to place the marker far from the highway, but also choosing to place it in a country that doesn't call it the 505 is a very interesting decision. Cost you about 30 points at least. Still Gods.
Small Italian town "Is this the UK?" Middle eastern mountains "We're driving on the right so its not the UK" Excellent work to lock that out early in the first couple rounds. Also I like that you committed big time to coastal on round 1 and it might literally be the most in-land town that is even possible in Italy. It's unfair to everyone else to have you guys play as one team, need to split up to give others a chance of competing.
My thought process here from watching way too much Rainbolt and GeoWizard was: Round 1: ".it" domain name on the sign confirmed Italy, but the map definitely gave island vibes. Finding the town would've just been a matter of luck. Round 2: Notable countries with yellow plates are UK, Netherlands, Israel. The round looks nothing like Europe so we want to think Israel. English + 2 Middle-Eastern languages (Hebrew and Arabic) on the road sign confirms it. Round 3: This looks more dry than a normal Kenya round, my first thought was Botswana or northern SA, but the black snorkel on the front of the Google car is a giveaway for Kenya. Round 4: Clear Africa round, my first hunch was Ghana based on the landscape although there weren't a lot of clues around at first. Ghana does speak English, and we get the Ghana flag. Most Ghana coverage is in the southern part so that area Kumasi and southward tends to be a safer guess. Round 5: Strong South America vibes, my first thought is Brazil but the road quality in Brazil is usually better. It's not until we get to the signs for Santa Cruz that we get a confirmation that this is Bolivia, which just requires knowing South American capitals. Luckily there was the second sign with "Bolivia" written on it as well.
Ghana Had you gone just a bit further down the street in Ghana, you would have come across a nice big green business sign for Abians Company. That had their PO BOX and said MALLAM-ACCRA. That at least would have put you in the right metro area. It's a bit confusing, since Mallam is a neighborhood just west of central Accra. It is scannable, but pretty small. However, it's also further away than had you just clicked central Accra. Akuse is 40 miles NE of downtown Accra. I did see Akuse on a few other signs further down, but those were quite small. Akuse isn't very easy to find on the map, anyway. Looking at the Street View map for Ghana, it appears most of the coverage is on the coast, with roads heading N-S to hit the major cities like Kumasi and Tamale. My guess is that a weighted hedge of all those places would be just Kumasi or a few miles south of that...though region-guessing based on dryness should affect that hedge. I've never actually played the game, so I don't know how well the distribution of Street View coverage correlates with the locations chosen.
@@natekraner3721, thanks. I'll take that as a compliment. I was frustrated enough at how they played that round and how little they moved that I wanted to see what would have happened had I been in their spot. It's likely I would have just guessed Mallam near Accra, based on that PO Box. If GeoGuessr were more of this and less memorizing bollards, poles, car antenna, iconic grass, etc., I'd try playing it, myself. Instead, I do occasionally enjoy the applied problem solving in watching others play it. FWIW, the only Ghana cities I knew before watching this video were Accra, Kumasi, Wa, and, possibly, Tamale. I'm very good at geography, but I'm not amazing at it and there are significant gaps.
Jake not knowing how cardinal directions work in crunch time is a real show of character.
Loving Jake’s logic to go east of the city and punching in west. No explanations needed
The thumbnail had me thinking for a split second that a special geo guest in rainbolt made an appearance
I was so pumped for that too!
That’s why they used him. Clickbait.
"How many worlds are there?" - Always taking us on philosophical journeys 😁
I want to see the geo god guys with 5 mintues vs Rainbolt with 0.1 seconds.
Jimmy calling that tarp exactly what it is then Zack (I think) saying "what is it?" Matty: "not a flag" killed me
"They love blue here matty fucking think" is a great line from Jake 😅
It’s wild how they were so sure it was Italy and yet were so close to just dropping it on a French island.
(Edit: Best episode yet.)
The tongue-in-cheek bravado, confidence, and hubris paired with the charming ineptitude will never not be funny. 😂

Them recognizing its Arabic and putting it in Israel over the West Bank killed me
Do the challenge next time! Love the 5:20 limit lol
Devastating that Jimmy’s water sense let him down

We need a Rainbolt collab before those GeoGodGuys retire
I love those GeoGodGuys confidence lol. Rainbolt could get three guys off the street and still mop up. But these guys BELIEVE!!!

I hate being famous for my hits and never for misses! 23:26 boys night out reference. It’s a stretch but close enough
You see the snorkel it is always Kenya.

Bro you've got a weird affinity for rural Ghana
I was so shocked to get to the end of your rural Ghana analysis and see you’ve never played this game

2 words: kenya snorkel.
Was looking for this comment ha
It’s French Guiana not French Guinea and it doesn’t have street view 😂
would have loved if they streamed the world cup watch party 😂😂
How many people work at jomboy? It’s way bigger than I thought.
The intro... man... the INTRO!!!!!
Black tape on 1 bar on top of car in Africa = Ghana. FYI
looking forward to the geo god guys competing at the world cup next year
🖤
Appreciate Matty trying really hard to not say 'Palestine' after 'Israel'
This was the third time trying to watch..but the ads are so intense..out of principle I have to pause abd not watch anything
They give us free amazing content. Pretty minor thing to deal with some ads to allow them to keep doing this...
Rainbolt is the GeoGod, sorry Jimmy
this is good but 5 min is too long. 3 min max boys.
