To all fencers who doubt dagger being effective against longsword, just know if you train one thing enough, you start getting good at that one thing. Practice what's written in the manuscripts, it was written for a reason

I think dagger is great against longswords. I've had some matches where I had great success and others where I struggle to get a safe kill, but if we were to start regularly doing this fighting style, I think most of the folks at my club could do well with it. It's also very helpful as a building block for improving techniques with other weapons as well.

Give me a break. If the longsword user exploited the reach advantage, dagger guy has no chance

There were several longsword users, all of which wanted to use range to stay safe, but the dagger gets in quicker than you'd expect. Longsword generally still takes the majority of victories but the dagger can prevail if its user is mindful of timing and distance and as long as they have enough room to void longsword cuts and thrusts.

I can’t help but notice that the longsword guy is consistently acting in the nach and really makes no real attempt to take the vor or use the range advantage of his weapon. I also notice little attempt to grapple at the sword.

There were several longsword users here who offered a variety of nacht and vor in their fencing, but yes they were a bit more defensive because they know with a dagger I am trying to draw out their strike to exploit it and grapple, so they are hesitant to commit on their first action. They also don't often fight longsword against dagger so they had to rewire their brains on the fly.
