As always, it is great to see Peter's passion and knowledge. It is also great to see Harry, Matt (+family) and Peter Green. I totally missed this live Zoom meeting, I am in Philly and are a customer of both SM and VPI and an aspiring audiophile. I would appreciate if you can let me know if upcoming meetings, virtual or in person.
    Thanks!

Peter, it would be a blessing if you'd make more videos about the workings and physics of styli and cartridges... I just got involved with the whole subject matter and your knowledge and way of conveying it is a delight.

Looks suspiciously like the Band & Olufsen MMC cartridges but with some reworking and improvements over the B&Os. I used to own the B&O MMC 1 and MMC 2 cartridges with laser drilled sapphire cantilevers. The question I have is... does Soundsmith make a laser drilled version of their Sapphire cantilevered cartridges?

Hey, I saw your video on the B&O Beogram 1800. And im wondering what I need to make it work, because i have the beogram and dont know how to play music with it.

But if a cartridges bit rate equivalent in 200-500x (if done right) that of a 24bit file, wouldn’t an ok cartridge with the ability to do just 4x the 24bit sample rate also sound great?

Not bit RATE - Bit LEVELS. And Yes, a relatively decent cart on a very good arm will also provide great bit levels. One of the reasons that good analog has such staying power. It is like the saying - "when one hears the truth, one knows it" . I believe this is true of great analog reproduction - when you hear it, something in you says "this is wonderful".

What about a cactus cantilever on the strain gauge? Would it make a difference?

If you watch (please don't waste TOO much time) you will find that I mentioned this in at least two videos. The reflected energy of the SG system is so low, that its use made absolutely no difference in performance. Fascinating! Some evidential proof that the SG system had approached some wonderful limit.

Being that we all get up in the years and that Peter solely builds the higher end cartridges himself, is he training anyone to be proficient enough to do this other than himself?

The unfortunate reality is that one in 1,000 are interested in becoming artisans instead of "other" pursuits (money for example), and of those, only one in 1,000 have the patience, temperament and skill potential. So.......help me in finding out how I can sort through and find one in 1 million.

@@mikegemmati8658 Please don't think that over the past 50 years I have not done so - Soundsmith has been and is a mentoring company at my personal expense and pleasure, but need I tell you what has happened to many of the 20-30 year olds we have produced? Their heroes are criminals, musicians and sports figures, not the heroes of antiquity. The concept of "Virtue being its own reward" is a thing lost to the past as we have created a world of comfort for them. The wisest man I ever knew once said - "The quickest way to create a cripple, is to put a crutch under a healthy man".

@@Manufacture4less I fully agree with what you stated and completely understand. I have observed what you stated myself too often over the years, in both 20 years of military service and 20 years of civilian work. I share your passion with a love of craftsmanship and I believe that I would’ve been your man 20 years ago when I was younger. Don’t give up hope. We all want to see Soundsmith successfully carry on in the years to come with the torch eventually being handed down to the right person, wherever he/she may be. Thank you for all you do and I love my MIMC and Paua cartridges.

Sir, the smartest person is one, who realizes that the best mankind can do to save themselves is absolute foolishness. Only Jesus can save a human soul and guarantee eternal life . . . . -- John 3:16 . . . the Lord is coming back very soon . . . repent and be ready. :-)

If you research the original texts from the Greek bible, you will find that the use of the word "repent" does not exist. The original word horribly translated to "repent" was "METANOIA" - or "above" mind - CHANGE of mind - not "repent" as found in "modern bibles. The Greek words for WATER meant TRUTH and STONE meant "literal", I too am interested in the spiritual path of many worlds, and therefore have sought out the ORIGINAL meanings of the guidance we have tried to receive. Do your research my friend, and understand that real truth is hidden for both our and its protection lest it become "Pearls before swine".
