Hi there,I know this video is 2 years old but I really hope you still answer comments and are still going strong, because I need your help. I have this eh 790 system with the correct badass speakers and 3 surround too. It's awesome and I love it. However the cassette player has gone wrong and just either won't play or plays a very warped sound and is fucking tapes up. This deck doesn't seem easy to work on. Everything else is cool and I run my Blu-ray player through it to listen to Beatles Blu-ray. Master audio, and I run my audio technica record player through it too using dvd aux. Please
They stopped making them and improving them. I think the stereo sound processor was way ahead of its time. Would be nice if Panasonic made a new one with Bluetooth and Digital Radio. These do have an aux in though if you want to add a Bluetooth receiver. I think more so these days people are moving to using sound bars and PC 2.1 surround speakers as they use less wattage than stereo whilst packing a punch of a bass boom that won't upset your neighbors. That is OK because these have aux out and headphone out of you want ditch stereo high wattage and cut the electric bill.

I had this system with the DVD changer. I ended up selling it, as I got tired of the noisy, slow, clunky disc changer. And also, I was not impressed with the effects from the Dolby Pro Logi c surround system. Also the sound wasn't great, the treble sounded splashy, and the bass sounded boxy and boomy. It is not a system you can listen to for extended periods of time. I ended up buying an Onkyo Dolby Digital receiver, Sony BluRay player, and a set of decent Monitor Audio speakers, and the difference is like night and day. This range of systems from Technics are what they are, and that is a convenient system for playing music, but far from being serious HiFi.
i have a pioneer 7.1, had a powercut last week and coursed an intermittent fault, and i had one of these technics systems going spare, you are right the there is a night and day difference, saying that i do have a soft spot for the technics system
@@outerheaven1000 Yeah I can understand why some people like these systems, as they are feature rich. But when you get into serious HiFi, you realise that these systems are all Bra and No Tits. Yes, they offer great convenience, but sonically, they fall way short. And a lot of the time, I think it is down to the poor speakers. Adding a decent set of speakers may make a huge difference to the sound these systems make. But most people tend to stick with the cheap offerings supplied with the system. I guess it all depends on what you want from a system. For me, sound quality is most important, and to achieve the perfect sound is a lifelong journey, because your perception of sound changes as you get older, and thus, so does your equipment to compensate.
@@hermanmunster3358 do get what you mean, the pioneer i had showed the faults of the technics by a country mile, as for the speaker part i think you may have a point there, a good set will make it sound loads better
@@outerheaven1000 Absolutely, because often, with a half decent system, like this Technics one, the CD and Amp can sound pretty good (not so much the cassette, which is where a lot of systems fell down) But often, the speakers are poorly constructed, with cheap drive units. And the cabinets can suffer from excessive vibration and resonance because they are poorly made with inferior chip board, which can make your music sound awful. Even a moderately priced pair of bookshelf speakers can sound way better than those supplied with systems. As the cabinets are often made from MDF, which is way more dense, and as you spend more, internal bracing, and even seperate drive unit enclosures are what sets apart the inferior speakers from good ones, along with better drive units of course.
@@hermanmunster3358 I am toying with the idea of getting a new pair of speakers at it, the only pair i can find that are a 3-way that will work on it are the Wharfedale Evo 4.2's

Sadly tape deck 2 won't play,i think the right hand capstan gear wheel might be damaged or even broken.I opened the cover and all the drive belts are working. So might need to send the whole hifi in for a repair. She is my pride and joy bought her brand new in 2005 for 450 quid she still sounds lovely.Any idea what could the fault be?
Iv had this system for about 15 years! Moved it around quite a few times. Now I can't get any sound through one speaker but don't think it's he actual speaker, I think it's the hole in the amp that the speaker wire goes into! Do I need a new amp?
Hi where can I get one I love that system
Can you attach a turntable to this system?
Yeah you can.
Yes but you have to buy a preamplifier if your turntable doesn't have included it because this system doesn't have phono input, just aux input
When i connect the aux theough the rca on this device it is much quiter than if there was a cd playing. Do you know how i can fix this? I thought it would use the amp and produce a greater sound.
What’s the difference between the shdv 250 and the 290???? Please tell me as I just brought the 250 instead of the 290
Hi there,I know this video is 2 years old but I really hope you still answer comments and are still going strong, because I need your help. I have this eh 790 system with the correct badass speakers and 3 surround too. It's awesome and I love it. However the cassette player has gone wrong and just either won't play or plays a very warped sound and is fucking tapes up. I bought a replacement component (just the DV 290 cassette deck) and that one had exactly the same problem. Can you help? Do you know what may be causing this? And what I can do?
When I watch the shootout scene in Heat my neighbourhood hears and probably feels my Technics System lol!
Bought it in 2000 about 900 euros. Great
wow! worth every penny!

Hi, iv got this system but it doesn't play cd's any ideas?
What a massive sound
How do I get my stereo to clearly receive radio stations. I only have 1 channel
What was the difference between eh-750 eh-770 and eh-790 ?
The highest number plays mp3’s the others may not
@@manformclay
Thank you very much !
Btw, do you think 180 euro equal to almost 200 dollars is a good price for an Aiwa sx-n999 ?
Isn't it too much? Someone here sells one in fully working condition, but price seems really expensive... What do you think?
Does the system have a preamp?
@@outerheaven1000
Yeah I can understand why some people like these systems, as they are feature rich.
@@outerheaven1000 Absolutely, because often, with a half decent system, like this Technics one, the CD and Amp can sound pretty good (not so much the cassette, which is where a lot of systems fell down)
But often, the speakers are poorly constructed, with cheap drive units.
Like I’ve previously said mate I’ve had one of these from date of release love it to bits but want to replace the wiring on the speakers if you wouldn’t mind helping me what would you suggest far the best Type of speaker wire loads of different types as you know also have you any recommendations for a sub woofer would love to add one to it

Hello everyone, I have from 1996 a mini technics hifi with se-ca10 vu meter amplifier and still sounds good, my stereo tuner just the screen is dead, can I connect a stereo tuner from another mini hifi technics will it work, thanks in advance!
I'm looking for remote control for this model
Hay alguna manera de hacer reset?
Bought mine in 1999. still going strong, wouldn't part with it.
How do you use an aux cable on this?
You need an RCA to AUX cable and plug it into the AUX (DVD) ports on the back of the sound processor
Hi could you please tell me what cable I need for 5 cd changer and where to buy it thankyou
amazon sell it just type in the model number :)
@@feelingretro5154 thankyou very much 👍🏼🙂
i imported mine from England 8 years ago, now when i switch it on i can play music for less than 6 mins it just cuts the sound off while it will be all the units. i need help on how to fix this
You need to take it to some electronics repair shop. My sa-eh500 had the same problem and it was the integrated circuit... Too many years of abuse, but I'm not trading my technics hi-fi for anything. Too many memories and good times were passed with it blasting its awesome sound.
Hi can I connect my phone via aux cable with this stereo?
Did you end up getting a solution?
Io ho il 750 o problemi al caricatore CD lo aperto sono usciti due spessori tondi trasparenti non so dove e come vanno messi qualcuno può aiutarmi. Grazie
