American crocs and Nile crocs may be able to breed but not American alligators
I agree, no interbreeding with alligators.....come on man.
The guy in this video is lying. There isn't an established population of Nile crocs in the wild anywhere in FL and nobody "lost" 20 something Nile crocs in the everglades.

The game and fish have said there are nile crocs that were probably released as babies by collectors. So yes be careful.
I think Nile crocs wear white sunglasses, white baseball caps white long sleeve shirts and can drive an airboat.
😂😂😂 just say his name kml
Yes, it was a Croc full.
😂😂😂😂
Never heard of a 20ft croc in FL
Aren’t crocs and alligators incapable of breeding?
yes, this man is a fool
There are American crocs, not just alligators. Google it and you will see.
The "captain" is incapable of breeding with that gut on him.

@@VashtheStampede007 yes but this dude in the video said also breeding with gators, which is wrong
Crocs can’t breed with gators
We had a croc from the Keys swim up to Fort Lauderdale beach and sun itself on the beach.
I hope he knows that gators cannot breed with any crocodiles 😂😂😂
Crocs can't breed with gators captain genius.
Was gonna say the same
Exactlyyy. With the american crocs yes but not gators
Can they even breed with American crocs?
@@BigDaddy-fx4nx probably saltwater crocodiles can breed with Siamese and Nile crocodiles, so they could probably breed with American crocodiles

oh shit its jurassic park all over again
You fools need to stop saying "people released them when they got to big to care for." Nile Crocs cost over $2k for a hatchling and the price goes up as they get larger. These are investments. However any larger animal park in Florida does have a few at least. Some people specialize in them. However hurricanes and flooding do cause these animals to get loose. it just happens. There are many parks with indo pacific crocs (salties) that I am sure have escaped in the past also. these animals live upwards of 100 years. So imagine crocs that got loose in the late 70's when many of which were undocumented and unregulated. You can only imagine what lurks out in the glades. Just like officials say Florida is to warm for White sharks but tagged individuals show it's their winter homestead when northern waters get to cold.
If you can't 100% full proof your exotic pets from going into the wild you shouldn't be allowed them in the first place. Nothing just happens, if you live in a place where natural disasters happen don't try to own exotic pets.
Not back in the 80s and before, it takes a while before a croc reaches that size. Things were cheaper and less regulated then, I bet you could get one for 50-100 bucks under the table if you knew the right people. Agreed though, I doubt there were many novelty pets of that sort still around by the late 90s that people would just release and not take somewhere. And they will be extremely rare even if they do exist for a while, not many make it to adulthood if they do find a partner to breed.
they tested the known captive nile crocs, and confirmed they were not related to the ones they found in the wild.
Wait...we have 4 to 5,000 nile crocs on the loose? What exactly was he reffering to at the end
Don’t listen to him. The guys an idiot. Saying that nile crocks are mating with American gators is impossible! Two different species with different genes
Exaggeration they can’t breed with gators.
Utube "Fred the croc". 15 ft salt water croc that lives in a boat launch in miami
its an american croc, not a saltwater croc.
It was an exotic animal wear house that got destroyed and they had several nile crocodiles at various stages of maturity. Then theres the private collectors whos animals got out over the years from hurricanes because transportation of a crocodile for evacuation isn’t exactly feasible unless you’re a zoo. So yes there are nile crocodiles in the everglades one was actually seen by a fish and game officer from her own apartment window when she reported it
Right on , salt water crocs , good to see them making a comeback! Maybe they eat Burmese pythons
Where were they lost? What part of Florida?
Nile croc couldn't breed with a gator. So that part's B.S. But the rest is plausible.
When he says “west coast” he means side of the Florida pan handle that faces the Gulf of Mexico?
Yes, well sort of, he's just talking about the western side of Florida's main body, the panhandle is the part that goes up and attaches to Alabama. But yes you're on the right track, western side of Florida the one that goes into the golf not the Atlantic.
We never called our American crocodiles, "American salt water croc".
Alright I am confused , someone please educate me and thank you 🙏 in advance. We have American crocodiles(“less aggressive”) in the Everglades (duh), but you mean to tell me ,we now have the, and I mean ,THE Nile crocodile species ,from Africa in the glades as well?
Yea 🎉
My first question is what moron let this happen
possibly. they have found four nile crocs, but I havent seen any confirmed cases since 2014..... having said that, one of those four that they collected, was a new hatchling, so you could assume that hatchling came from a breeding pair of nile crocs, not to mention, that hatchling would have been one of a dozen or so.... however, is it possible for american crocs and nile crocs to breed? I dont know. if not, it means there was/is one breeding pair of nile crocodiles 10 years ago... so by now, you would think there would be more, and more confirmed cases but there hasnt been.
Nile crocs and American crocs can, it has even happened with Cuban and Nile crocodiles.
Whats rob ford doing in florida?
Awesome. Crocodile Hybrids in America.
There is none because Crocs and Gators can't breed together, different DNA! Look it up, I had to!✌️
@@Steve-yo4ld it's funny because they made a comment about them breading together.
@jeromedamian5740
That's why I looked it up, I was a bit skeptical:
"Crocodiles and alligators are two different species. As such, they are unable to mate together to produce offspring. One of the reasons is that the DNA counts of each animal are different."
Now I'm sure with the numbers that were released, there was enough to breed among their own!
Florida, America's Australia
They may be able to breed with American Crocodiles but not alligators 🐊
American crocs get pretty big and they are more likely what you are seeing also they almost went extinct in Florida so maybe thats where the whole breeding info you got mixed up
I'm sure that the reptile that has been taking cattle is probably either a large American crocodile or huge alpha gator. Sometimes the steers and cows go up to the riverbank to drink and out comes a big gator or croc to drag one under.
how are you sure 😂
@@rassoul420 You live in FL? Though the gators and crocs down here don't always reach sizes common for the largest Nile crocs and Indo-Pacific crocs, the largest of them can easily grab a beef cow. As well, Nile crocs aren't common in the Everglades, even though the environment would be to the liking of either the Nile or the IP. It wouldn't surprise me if in a few years there is a Nile croc population active there, despite efforts by Florida Fish & Wildlife to catch every last one of them.
@@hananokuni2580 weird to ask if I live in florida. you are the one making the definitive claim despite evidence to the contrary. have you always been smarter than everyone else?
@@hananokuni2580 a nile croc infestation would be so fucking deadly that needs to not happen
@@bobbythomas6520 Methinks there might not be enough prey in the Glades to support a large population of _Crocodylus niloticus_ or _Crocodylus porosus._ The _niloticus_ lives in regions with large prey like zebras and wildebeest, while the _porosus_ lives in regions with large tropical fish and large land mammals like tigers, marsupials, and water buffalo. The closest thing to that would be cattle sipping water from a lake or river. And when it comes to their herds those cattle ranchers don't take no for an answer!
Hpw does a nile crocodile gets there
From a private collector that imported them.
Swam
Hurricane Andrew is also responsible....many non native reptiles escaped from a zoo in Miami area.
Crocodiles cannot mate with Alligators. Nile crocs cannot mate with American saltwater crocs.
It's been proven that salt water crocodiles can crossbreed with fresh water crocs. there's a case in Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines
Well Cuban crocodiles from Cuba can hybridize with Nile crocodiles. All crocodylus species can hybridize
Lmaoo. Nile crocodiles just strolling up on land and heading a mile or more to some cattlefarm and steal the cattle and then head back…😂😂😂😂

Saltwater crocs are bigger than nile crocs
The problem is more people, not more crocs
No the problem is definitely invasive nile crocodiles.
100%
@@killeralltires the invasive yankees are the real problem. they may survive for a few years, but they will end up retreating north to a more guido inviting environment....
nile crocs don't belong there
A human that fat should not go anywhere they believe to be crocodiles, particularly Nile Crocodiles. What an attractive target for predation.
19 to 20ft crocs in the everglades.
If you run out of fuel he can power the boat on the shittt from his mouth
the american croc gets up to 20ft anyway. Doesn't need the help of nile crocs to reach that milestone. Keep your cattle away from the waters edges.
“Not Good” is right.
If it was dangerous enough with the gators
Now they got the 2nd largest Crocodile too
This man have no clue! While crocodiles and alligator are both reptiles they are not close enough to mate!!! Now nile and saltwater crocodiles can definitely breed!!
are you sure? I cant find anything conclusive either way. I would assume most likely, yes?

They are too far apart genetically.
Wonder if Nile crocs eat watermelon like Gators.
OMG.. a Nile Crock in the everglades.. Omg.. that is not good.. those are the biggest ever.. that is crazy.. be safe whomever go there..
We need to move them to the Rio Grand. Pretty sure that will slow down illegal immigration.
ASAP
Getting there territory makes sense that they go to where the peeps is . 🤷
It’s estimated that there are close to 130 Nile crocodiles in the Everglades now and while they can’t mate with gators they will absolutely decimate the population of gators and American crocs if we can’t do something about it, they are SUPER aggressive about territory and a gator/American croc stands basically no chance vs a full a grown Nile
Even if crocs can't breed with gators, nile crocs in the USA in any form is a HUGE problem. Stick to the subject!
Chill it's just the American Crocodile's not the Nile Crocodile's and American Crocs are native to southern Florida. Also Crocs and Gators can not breed with each other
There are Nile crocodiles in the Everglades they caught some as late as 2016. While the guy was wrong about crocs and gators interbreeding everything else was correct.
@@curiousentertainment3008 they captured some in 2016 but they haven't captured anything since

They can't because crocs and gators can't breed together! ✌️
I believe the American crocodile was there before ppl were so I dont find their growing numbers to be a problem. If anyone a few ppl need to be eradicated. Foreign species invading the Everglades however is a huge problem. Also have heard a couple salties have been removed. 4 total I believe. Really surprised to hear they're mating with local species though. I was more concerned they'd wipe out the American croc and do huge damage to the gator population
"If anyone a few ppl need to be eradicated."
Funny how the people that always say this always think it's other people that need to be eradicated, not themselves.
