We like beans in our chili, poured over baked potatoes, with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. It is so interesting to watch how other people make and eat chili. It is great to have you guys back, and so often!!!
I pressure canned most of our deer meat this year and it tastes like roast beef. You can use it for meat and gravy over noodles or potatoes, venison stroganoff, hot meat and gravy sandwiches, or anything you would use beef for. It is very tender and if you add garlic to it it helps it to not taste gamey.
We make a huge pot of Chili every month. Ground Beef, Ground Lamb, Ground chicken, 2 large onions, lots of fresh chopped garlic, home canned tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, Dark and Light kidney beans, black beans, white beans, chilli powder, cumin, dry mustard, a little brown sugar and some molasses, salt, pepper, jalapeno and habanero peppers chopped. A few minutes before serving we add in a bunch of our canned corn and green peppers. It's nice and thick and served with some fresh shredded aged cheddar and a big dollop of whole organic Greek yogurt or sour cream. Sometimes we add in a cup of fresh brewed coffee and a big scoop of peanut butter. Day two gets served over a big bowl of salad greens and sieti chips (tortilla chips).
We make it different, but it is something I make a big slow cooker batch of each month. We love it with nachos, sweet potatoes or rice. On top we love cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Like many others we always add beans though we also add corn, peppers and mushrooms. The meat we change up occasionally but usually it's mix of ground beef and pork
Oh Jen that sound so good. I do that with cheap beef. I lo e Chili anyway and mostly on Bake Potatoes. So good to see you in the kitchen. I know your busy but I missed seeing you. Everyone have a goid day. Lv and Prayers to all.
I'm not from Nebraska but I do live here and here they have cinnamon rolls and chili. Never tried it either..Just doesn't sound right to me lol. We usually serve ours over rice if I need to bulk it up but usually we have flour tortillas to dip in it. Cheese is a must 😊
Our chili has beans and is served over rice. With corn bread or bread and butter. Your chili looks good. Is the peanut butter sandwich a regional thing? Will the kids eat the chili?
I Love some Peanut butter with chili, tomato soup, But I have to have real butter on my Peanut butter Sandwich, Next you make a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich and grill it like Grilled cheese make sure you make 2!! So Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grew up in Kansas, and we either had cinnamon rolls with our chili, or some would pour a little white vinegar into theirs. Another version is SWEET cornbread with butter and maple syrup. YUMMMMM
I ALWAYS eat a peanut butter sandwich with my chili...lol..my family thinks I'm odd. Also, I use my leftover chili and put it over rice & melt sharp cheddar cheese over it...SOOOO GOOD!
If you pour seasonings in your hand then put in the pot you don’t get steam up causing moisture in your seasoning and how it cakes on the lid. They will last longer that way.
Is the inside of insta pot stainless? I have gone back n forth about getting one. I recently got a stainless insert for my huge turkey roaster/crockpot. I render my tallow etc in it.
Chili has beans at my house

I have to say I have never seen chili served like you've shown us.

The best way to get the silver layer off of the meat that I have found is using a filet knife . Keeps from tearing into the meat.
Sick 🤒 peanut butter sandwich with chili?

What do the kids eat?
Is the peanut butter sandwich with chili a Kentucky thing? Never heard of it. And Jen, my daughter puts frozen green peas in EvERytHiNG!
We love sloppy does at our house!
