Very nice, informative and entertaining High Fidelity review. Really enjoyed it. First time viewing your videos but I plan to return. Thanks! Already have the V1 and was really disappointed with the stereo capability so now (of course) I need this one. Kind of uncool of them to have even released the 1st version. They should have just waited and introduced this. Oh well.....
I bought this pedal 18 months ago after seeing this review and others. I've had a lot of fun with it, and it is really quite easy to dial in a sound. I've more recently been looking at the Free The Tone Future factory, but after working on my presets on the D1 I'm very happy to stick with this unit. This is the second time I've watched this through, so double HF! 🙂 Thanks for the great content, you have another sub.
@theguitargeek I think the dimension knob on a meris polymoon is a bit like the attack knob on the d1. Turns the polymoon into a complete ambient beast. Cool vid mate. Awesome work
Thank you for this relatively in-depth review. I was looking for new delay pedal... I have been looking at this one for a while, and was on the fence, but your review has sold me. Just ordered one, and cannot wait for it to arrive! "High Fidelity"
Hi just a quick question. Can you do something like a "ducked" delay? That leaves a subtle delay while playing that ramps up when you stop. I need a big delay that doesnt get muddy when playing lead lines. I got the boss dd500 and does it really well but the D1 has got my attention now
Awesome deep dive! Just purchased this pedal and teamed it up in stereo with ACS1. Waiting for the R1 and M1 to form the stereo ampless High-Fidelity gang. As for the midi/switcher, highly recommend the RJM PBC/6X 😉
Great job explaining all the features. I have the V1 and learned 1 or 2 things I didn’t realize mine would do. Thanks! EDIT: I’ve gone through 2 more delay pedals since first leaving this comment, and since I’m a stereo player, have finally understood how stereo-centric this V2 version is and just ordered one! Hopefully this will likewise end up permanently on my board. Really appreciate your subtle humorous comments… and High Fidelity to you! 😎
I'm such a set-it-and-forget-it kinda guy, I've had my D1 for a while, made a bunch of presets and then just stuck with those. This video reminds me I need to go touch some knobs.
I have the v1 just a year and a few months old...... when the v2 came it was a bit frustrating , its not a cheap pedal. I am a delay freak and I want that bad boy , those updates are beautiful, and the haas effect sold it , the questions is , sell my old one that is like new or keep both?... such a hassle . This is a great review , I listened on studio monitors, what a bliss. thank you
Same thing with me delay is my favorite got d1 v1 right before v2 came out that seems to be a theme but I love their pedals but it is kinda frustrating
I am considering buying walrus d1. With the v2 release the v1 is more affordable, especially a used one. So I don't know should I pay more for the v2, or it's not worth it and I'm better off buying a used v1. I hope walrus audio doesn't make it a practice, releasing new versions so quickly. Anyway, La Morgue, or anyone who's used both versions. Do you think it's worth paying more?
By the way, I have the D1 V1 and the Vint is still a tape sound, I just think the V2 has a more convincing tape. The reverse is definitely a lot more favourable on the V2.
Love the video's Andy! Did you find the You had to hold down/slowly press the bypass/on/off switch for it to turn off or on? I've got a V1 and you can't just quickly tap the switch to turn it on or off which is a huge pain as I turn all my pedals on by hand and obviously can't strum while I do so (in a wheelchair hence my using hands). And it's not just my pedal, my brothers one is the same. Cheers from Australia!
Hey! I found that the button needs to be pressed “with intent” I did press a few times without luck but found it just needed a harder, deeper push. I hope that helps
Well I've been swayed. I was gonna go a little cheaper, maybe a boss dd 200, but this seems worth it. And as a bonus it's been a bit since the release, so it might cost less! Have you seen High Fidelity?
I have this pedal and I found the following problem, every time I edit and save a preset, when I turn the pedal off and turn it on again, the previously saved presets are deleted, can this error be corrected or am I simply not using this pedal correctly? Thanks for the help, excellent video 🙏
Just what I would expect from Walrus, but I bypassed it and bought a Source Audio Collider which is the same price, but the power supply included, with dual channel reverb and delay. I dunno, seems my pedal is a lot more fun and capable than the Walrus. If something is not fun, it's not worth buying in my opinion.
@@dawnr8511 It has infinite oscillation among a plethora of other fun things and I have a CKk stereo infinite reverb and Neunaber Immerse Mk 2 so I'm sorted in the reverb department 😁...Have fun with the Collider.🤘
Weird. I never got a notification for this. It's been happening with other channels, too. I somehow got completely unsubscribed to 60 Cycle Hum. I surely didn't do it. 🤷 I hadn't gotten a notification from him for a few days before I realized that. Ugh. Freakin youtube.
Hi Fidelity, Never knew you had a middle name. Anyway as you said yourself, I can see this being a massive time waster, that you'll spend hours playing with while achieving very little. Probably just like when you got your first sequencer on your PC, hours and hours of twiddling with no end result. LOL. Great video by the way! And yes I am being flippant, slightly!
@@TheGuitarGeek too much, CGS was having live problems but no reports in his file 🤔 then it was cut completely. Be easy Andy always bringing me laughter 🤣

The delay sounds are superb listening through high fidelity stereo headphones 🎧 👌 👍
Glad you took the time to wear headphones dude

Absolutely outstanding review in every way and I agree, MIDI is tempting in this case (coming from a midi-avert mind.) Thank you!
"High Fidelity"
Ordered mine off Reverb it will arrive this week. Thank you making this video and breaking everything down.

Excellent review of this “high fidelity” pedal Andy. I could see myself having hours of fun with it. Cheers 😄❤️

High fidelity. Great pedal, amazing sounds you can get out of it
I was already a fan of this so I didn’t watch the whole video but I will probably sell my V1 and buy a V2 because, you know, high fidelity.
I would do the same Dave
I thought they would just update the last one. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. It has all the same controls. Does it have a different chip in it?
6:00 "It'll do a very clean slapback"
**endless repeats**
😂 yeah I kinda overcooked it there
I put headphones on as suggested and my jaw genuinely dropped when I heard the HASS effect.
I enjoyed this video! I will probably get one. High Fidelity👍🏿
which one is better Strymon DIG V1 or Walrus Mako D1 V2?
By the way, I have the D1 V1 and the Vint is still a tape sound, I just think the V2 has a more convincing tape. The reverse is definitely a lot more favourable on the V2.
Damnit, I didn't want to have to buy this because I have the V1, but it's so high fidelity.

I'm late for the High Fidelity show, but I'm planning on replacing my DM-2W with one...
High fidelity and I was driving when I watched the replay and it was quite a "trip"
Heck yes!
HIGH FIDELITY!!! Awesome video, thank you. How do you think this pedal would be for bass guitar?
Hey Paul. I have never used a delay pedal with bass but there is no reason it would not do a good job.

If the decision between Collider against Mako R+D . Thoughts ?
Great. Thx
I can use this pedal for some "high fidelity" banjo action 🤔
I would recommend that’s ALL you use it for
Just bought the D1 couple months ago. Now V2 comes out that sucks.
This is bad news but the D1 is still a good purchase
@@TheGuitarGeek yes it is an awesome pedal. I just bought the SLÖ also…now the V2 is out now
Awesome looking and sounding pedal!!
What is the maximum delay time?…. thanks
02:29 Sweet Child o Mine on acid! haha
Oh yes 😊😉
Does the attack just smoothen out the first delayed repeat or all of them
High Fidelity! Stupid Question, how are you going into the pedal in stereo if there’s only one cable from the guitar?
Hi Marc, I am using a stereo pedal before the D1 to send stereo to the D1

It’s happened a lot. I also got unsubbed from a few channels. I’m glad you made it
Is this really that much better than the D1 v1?
If you have the V1, an upgrade MIGHT not be worth it. If you play in stereo, this pedal is a no brainer
Sucks they couldn't make a firmware update. I would feel kinda cheated if I had V1. It is fairly new.
It's really a nice Pedal...but I hear nothing I couldn't do with my Source Audio Nemesis 🤷🏻♂️....so I rather invest my money in the M1.
Glad you found the gear you need.
Hi Fidelity 👋
It looks really great..But I'm going with the Red Panda Raster V2..
Yeah but no midi or stereo support. Wicked lame guy
Hi Fidelity ;-)
