Same happened to me a couple years ago. Bought some brand new H7s from OPT7 for my Outlander and they did not lock into place. Had to send them back for refund.
2016-current Mitsubishi outlander halogen swap. Just did the upgrade today. I had trouble figuring out were the o ring went. You take the factor base off leaving the lamps original clear oring on. Slide the adapter on then red oring and then put lamps original base on and tighten to lamp. I tried putting the red oring on the bottom but I couldn’t get the base to lock on so i did it the other way. So far so good

I am buying multiple led bulbs but none is securing to the housing and therefore the bulbs are not locking in. My vehicle is Outlander 2017. Please suggest a solution if a specific retainer is needed. Thanks for all the suggestions.
I just bought the led H7 for my outlander 2019 , and same thing happened . I just ordered modified retainer from ebay 10$ lets see what will happen

Flannel Fishing no...the seller just gave me a refund. They sell adapters but they come from China, plus not sure if it will secure the bulb.
