    Barry, you are my kind of guy! It's okay if if don't look perfect at first, just take a torch to it and burn it into submission boys!! I love it.

    I wish that I would have seen this video before salmon and steelhead season. I will definitely be using this technique later this fall.
    Cheers

    I particularly liked the advice to use a lighter to clean up the egg. I used this technique on my first glo bug and it came out great.

    Anyone have any information on how to use this on a fly rig I’ve been fishing for steelhead, but can’t figure out how to get the yarn down to the steelhead on my fly rod. Guess I have to switch to the spin reel which I don’t want to do lol

    • @Thefeatherbender

      Hi Andy, you can attache a Tungsten bead to the hook first before you make the yarn egg!

    do they sink without a tungsten pearl ?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  2 года назад +1

      Hi Mario, No if you would like a Glow bug egg that sinks you have to add weight in one way or another.

    I'm seriously struggling acquiring plastic straws here in Europe since I think they don't even sell these here anymore 😂 guess it could work with reusable straw just as well? 🤔

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  3 года назад +1

      It works perfectly with a reusable straw, clear plastic is the best so you can see what is going on.

    Monster hooks on tiny eggs?
    I wonder about: why does everyone on RUclips use these monster big hooks for these small, tiny eggs? They disturb the smootness of the eggs surface and tend to snag on the bottom.
    I prefer to mount two windings of Lead wire on a bent hook size 16, so the egg will almost completely hide the tiny hook.
    The lead will position the hook to guarantee a upright Position in water , which counts for less snagging- its mostly forgotten, that the physics , weight and streaming behavior of Flies in the water is crucial for successful tackle.

      We use them for fish that would straighten out a a size 16 hook every time. In spring Great Lakes steelhead fishing, I have even straightened out the exact hook he is using.
