Actually dodge is his only ability that acts like that, but you're right, this is the main reason for why he lost. This and possibly the fact that Anoobis' damage cannot be reduced by viper style.

Cronan had really bad micro management here... he can retreat when his boars respawn and gain some health back, in the mean time the boars and eagle deal damage. Dierde could have been teleported to regain hp and then teleported back... with enough patience she can win too. Kutsao didn't use most of his abilities, had bad luck with the dodges and wasn't called back to regain hp... could perhabs win with better micro. Kahz kinda tried to kill himself but with more agressive micro could have gained hp back and won. And Saitam pretty much like Kutsao, no abilties, no retreating to gain hp... no chance.

For exmaple, you let Alric attack him while his sand warriors were fighting, adding loads of damage, while Cronan was just standing there for like half his run while his boars fought - if you let him attack with them and then move back and heal, I'm sure hed have done better. And like for Karkinos, why did he start so far back? Again, attacking nearer the front and then giving hima chance to move back and heal would've helped.

Because of the Anoobis’s high damage but not as impressive HP as one would expect, Alric’s Spiked Armor can put a hurt on them in combat while Alric himself doesn’t instantly die. After Wave 40 should the anoobis has too much HP for this to be possible. Best to just use him against normal enemies while your free blockers and towers do the job.

instakills don't trigger against bosses or minibosses, and some abilities require multiple models within range to trigger, so it might be something like that.

He cannot dodge area attacks which anoobis does
