I am sorry, but you are misinterpreting the history. Otublohum deprives from the name Otu -ahiakwa of the mantse ankrah royal family. They, the Ankrah’s, are the first settles of the Otublohum division. They came from denkyira in the 16 century due to a disagreement with the Ntim-Jakari chieftaincy. The person who led them the Ankrah’s to Ga Mashie was called Otu-Ahiakwa hence they were named Otu(his name) blohum(house). When they arrived, they met the then Nai-wulom) who made them Gas by performing rites on them (circumcising them, etc.) and gave them their present place opposite the usher fort. Thereafter the Akwamu’s were disturbing the Gas and causing all kinds of atrocities, so the Gas, together with the Ankrahs, fought against the Akwamus and eventually defeated them. They then took the remaining Akwamus as captives and shared among all the Ga houses that helped in the war. The Ankrah’s ( original otublohum) took them and placed them to their north east at their house opposite the usher fort (P&B house) hence they call them the (atifi) in twi my north east. The tabom people are from Brazil who fled from slavery to join them. The Tabom met mantse Ankrah, who gave them the present place. It is essential to note that Otublohum has three devisions. 1. The dadeban Naa ( Ankrah’s) 2. Tabom ( Afro-Brazilians) 3. The Atifi (Akwamus ). If anybody needs more information, feel free to comment to me for more. Thanks.
The Akwamu fought the Gas due to King Okai Kwei's order for the circumcision of the Akwamu prince.(At that period the Ga Kingdom was large and much more powerful compared to the Akwamu). The defeat even gave the Akwamus a pathway to stretch their Kingdom all the way to Whydah in Togo. It was this war which even caused the displacement of some Gas to Little Popo in Togo.It was the defeat of the Akwamu by the Akyems helped by the Krobo, Krepi, Akuapem and Gas which made the Gas acquire their sovereign state again. Even then , Akyem still had indirect control over them especially in the aspect of controlling the trade routes heading towards the Ga coasts to mainly prevent Ashantis from trading with Europeans.
He is not saying that the Akwamus defeated the whole of Ga-Adangbes .he said the Ga mashie people went to war with the Akwamus without Osu, LA, Teshie, Nungua all the way to Ada... And the Ga mashie people lost.. All what the Gborbu wulomo is saying is that , when Ga-Adangbes are united we win all our wars or battles but when one town alone goes to the war we loose... So He is telling us to unite to restore the pride of Ga-Adangbes... When we unite as one people, we will overcome our current situation and the Ga-Adangbe we all want to see will come to reality...
Please Mr nortey read about the history of Togo-Anehor, history of the slave coast , Strickland, Reeindorf etc. and this lies of Akwamu this and that. All lies Ghana open your eyes and read wide. The Ga fought in wars in Togo, Benin Republic and Nigeria-Darhomey, Oyo, and Grand Popo. They formed alliances with Akyem,Akwapim, Kwahu, Ashanti, Fanti, Obutu, Adanse, white people who will live with them in Ghana but bomb them in Togo and fought in many wars in Ghana including Akatamanso. What is Akwamu claim to fame that a Ga Akwamu siezed castle, they defeated and ruled Ga for fifty years and what else? Slave raiding as best friends of white people. and always being fought and destroyed by Akyem till they run to their friends the krepes of Denu side of Ewes to live where they are today. Always using Ga name to claim credit and white people lies to feel good. Which famous battles are Akwamu known for?
It wasn't a real defeat, it was a betrayal...... We betrayed our then King 🤴

Sadly he is poorly informed.
Derek Osei is correct, according to the true history
Thanks, it is unfortunate that our leaders do not know this.
No Tribe can defeat Akwamu, go and read the history well
