- As most of you know, for years I've been debating quitting my job to get back to running my photography business full-time. Over the past couple of years I feel into a space of complacency, then laziness, then just outright fear... that was until I lost my mom in 2022. I decided that I was no longer going to run from what I'm passionate about and it took me a whole year to gain the courage to quit, but now I have officially quit my job to walk in my creative passion.
Today I'm sharing a vulnerable look at what it feels like to have quit my job without a plan.

Today is my last day that I worked for 8 years to focus on my business full time. I am not scared and excited to start a new chapter in my life. Congratulations to you and thank you for posting this motivating video ❤

I’m so thrilled for you. I just resigned! Like 2 hours ago. I feel you to the core!! I’m terrified walking away from what I’ve established. The reality is I have nothing left to give! I’m uninspired and unmotivated. I just feel like it’s the season for miracles and God is moving. Times are changing and it’s time to live for a living and not work for a living. We have to operate in purpose. I’m so proud of you. Keep that bravery in it’s you on this journey. I’m wishing you nothing but the best!
Don't be scared bro. I quit my job a week ago after 21 years. My work environment had become toxic and unproductive. I was done with the bullshit and ready to move on. My backup plan is four to six months saved salary and a Bachelors of Science degree.
Yes yes! Im proud of you for prioritizing yourself. Best of luck to you! That was my backup plan as well. I saved some money. Leaned into photography. I have a B.S. in math so worst case scenario, I lean into that again but photography is going great!

My degree is my passion, kinesiology/PE. After graduating ten years ago I couldn't find a job in my field within reasonable distance. I was also recently divorced and not willing to relocate away from my daughter just for a career. I kept my job from before and watched the work culture erode. No work/life balance. Five twelve hour shifts a week went from the exception to the norm. Sense of teamwork was a distant memory. My loyalty was taken for granted for far too long so I quit. No notice or exit interview. They didn't deserve any sort of professionalism on my part.
Today I had an interview for a middle school PE/heath teaching position. Here's hoping.

I am absolutely, positively, unequivocally so damn proud of you. Life absolutely is far too short to not live your best life and pursue your God given gifts. We are not put here to be slaves to what others think we should do or to just get paychecks to pay bills and just get by. I want you to do EVERYTHING God is calling you to do. You have not thrown any time away. Everything is a process. You have to trust yourself and understand that you are doing everything that you are supposed to do in the timing that you are supposed to do it. You could not have expanded higher mentally without going through this process. Nothing lasts forever and in order to get to the next phase of life, you have to leave past things behind. It is always scary to do something divergent, but you will never know the amazing things that are waiting for you if you keep playing it safe. You got this. I understand just how you feel. When you keep waking up feeling drained and annoyed with your current self you have to bust a move. I promise so many great things have been waiting on you. I love this for you. keep winning!!!

Thank you for sharing your story I resigned two ago from a job I was on for 9 years made amazing money excellent bonuses and I have nothing lined up but I’m stepping out on faith my happiness and mental state is no longer for sales god has put me a good financial state were I can resign and be okay with my bills for a good amount of time

@@BryantDevon right now I’m heavily in ministry with my church and im not working yet just letting god lead me on what next for me but a load was lift tremendously when I made that step to walk away I feel like I’m now living. It wasn’t an easy decision but it was the best decision for me.

I know it's just been 3 months but I'm curious because I'm somewhat in the same position. I have a comfy WFH job (although it pays less than 20 an hour) but I turned 30 December last year and I'm at the point where I don't want to waste any more of my good hours to working and pursue drawing. Ironically this video was 3 months ago and 3 months was the time limit I'd gauge myself as a "dip my toes" feeling out thing to make sure I'll be okay and 3 years max before coming to the conclusion that the leap is a failure.
I'm so excited for you! The decision is still very scary for me, but I've been the happiest I've been in a long time and it's been so worth it. If you have something you want to pursue, absolutely do it. You owe it to yourself! My tip is, focus on building a savings and a safety net that way you can maintain your lifestyle. How can I follow and support your work! We've got to stick together, my friend!
