  • jurutungo1.wee... Hey everyone I'm back! I decided to come back and at least make one video per month talking and showing you guys places and talking about topics related to Puerto Rico. On this video I did a little bit of snorkeling which I haddent done in years and yes, it was fun to do again. The main topic of this video was to create awarness of the problem that some people dont see when they leave their trash at the beach.
    Those problems are;
    Ecosystem Damage: Marine animals can ingest or become entangled in plastic waste, leading to injury or death. Pollutants can also disrupt local ecosystems.
    Water Quality: Debris can introduce harmful chemicals into the water, affecting both marine life and human health. Contaminants from trash can leach into the water and sand.
    Aesthetic Degradation: Trash makes beaches look uninviting, which can deter visitors and impact local tourism and economies.
    Habitat Destruction: Large items like fishing nets or plastic sheets can smother important habitats, such as coral reefs and seagrass beds.
    Invasive Species: Trash can transport invasive species, disrupting local biodiversity.
    Public Health Hazards: Sharp objects and biohazards can pose risks to beachgoers, leading to injuries or illnesses.
    Community Impact: Pollution can lead to a loss of community pride and connection to natural spaces, affecting mental well-being.
    Efforts to keep beaches clean can help mitigate these effects and protect marine environments.
    So please, bring a bag and leave the place like you found it!
