    Way to go. This is a great video for a newbie to the Dam. I just purchased a kayak and haven't been to the Dam yet, but very soon. I have learned a lot about the Caney Fork from you, maybe one day we will bump into each other. Stay safe.

      Fishing at the dam can be very intimidating. The best advice is when they sound the Horn to get away until you make sure it's safe to proceed. I'm sure I'll see you out there! It's my favorite place 🙂

      Thank you for the release tutorial! So when nothing is opened where does the normal flow of the Caney come through at?

    • @Betterdaysfishing
      @Betterdaysfishing  2 года назад +1

      @@EvaHunter55 there's a leak at the base of the dam where I like to fish. I call it the waterfall. It's in just about every video here. That's the only flow with a dam is closed

    Can you put a small motor boat in with no generators on? Is water at ramp deep enough?

    • @Betterdaysfishing
      @Betterdaysfishing  2 года назад

      It's really shallow! Maybe 16 to 18 in with no generators on. Lots of people do it though! If you can move your boat on and off the trailer by hand that would definitely help

      @@Betterdaysfishing Thanks has a 40 horse jet motor so a bit heavy to take off by hand need to be able to float it off.

    • @Betterdaysfishing
      @Betterdaysfishing  2 года назад +1

      @@TNtreasurehunter you can do it when one generator is on!

    Can you put a 14ft flat bottom in at that boat ramp and fish those same waters?

    Richard, do you feel like it is safe to canoe or kayak fish the pond on the left with two generators?

    • @Betterdaysfishing
      @Betterdaysfishing  2 года назад +1

      Yes it's safe but I don't find the fishing to be very good

  • @gregjohnson4862

    Richard- do you use an anchor out there or just float?

    • @Betterdaysfishing
      @Betterdaysfishing  2 года назад

      It's pretty dangerous to anchor while the water is discharging. You would have to do so with caution and even then I wouldn't advise it. I was just floating around on this day but I had my anchor with me just in case
