@Gjoy RocknSolo Otis originally put the group together. Eddie and Paul didn't join until Richard and I forgot the other guy name left. Eldridge was originally the lead singer of the group along with Otis.
He is the founder and kept the group together despite all of the personnel changes for 61 years now.

The so called "boy bands" that emerged from the 1980s have nothing on The Temptations, The Four Tops, etc. They were the true originals whose music lives on forever. When you look at the show reels these young men were teenagers and looked so mature, together and were a class act. RIP to those who have died, their legacy lives.
To me The Temptations Paul, Eddie, Melvin,Otis, David was the best group of Temptations.

I do not like to compare one artist to another. Almighty God created Rose's as well as the lily. With this in mind, let me say that Paul William's was both the Rose and the Lily of this truly phenomenal vocal group. Some things are only presented once in a lifetime. The Temptations are God's gift to this generation!
I agree, Paul was such a gem 💎 alot of people noticed his unique powerful voice, his influence of all of there dances and his heart he wore it on his sleeve.

A great interview with Otis Williams of the Temptation group. I always enjoy his life stories with the Temptations different groups. I believe that God and GOD'S GRACE, has given Dr. Otis Williams Grace. God never left his side. Brother Otis Williams, goodness comes through with each and every interview. Glad to call Otis, My Brother. Will always be able to smile when I hear the words. The temptation Forever Group. Bless you, Brother Otis Williams, Sister Forever Nora Rose Parker Carter.😘❤
Wow, Otis is the only original Temptation remaining. He outlived the first and second lineups. He looks great.
Yet according to according to Eddie Kendricks, Otis Williams was only ever a backing singer who never sang lead on a single.

I'm glad they reported this right, because if we are talkin bout the Temps, Lord willing, you must include Dennis after mentioning David, although there should have been an honorable mention for Richard (Firefly is one of my top 5 favorite Temps songs)

I love the Temptations even though I was a little girl when they came out my Mother and Father played their music all of the time may they all RIP and all of them were the voices but EDDIE and. David and Paul WOW they had it going on
I was in the 3rd grade when My Girl was out and the elementary school I attended had a dance for 25 cent. Instead of going home after school I went to the dance. The sound of My Girl serenaded the cafeteria, slow dancin' was very popular then, but the party was cut short when my friend said "here comes your mother" she snatched me up and the rest is history!

On August 17, 1973 Williams was found dead in an alley, on the ground next to his car, having just left the new house of his then-girlfriend after an argument A gun was found near his body. His death was ruled a suicide by the coroner; Williams had expressed suicidal thoughts to Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin months before his death.
Williams' funeral was held on August 24, with his family, friends, and former bandmates in attendance. He was survived by his wife, Mary Agnes Williams, and six children: Sarita, Kenneth, Paula, Paul Lucas, Mary and Paul Williams, Jr., the 6'"1" newest member as of March 1, 2008 of a Temptations splinter group, The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards. Paul also had a seventh child, Derrick Vinyard, with a girlfriend. Williams is buried in Clinton Township, Michigan's Lincoln Memorial Park.
The circumstances surrounding Williams' death caused the Williams family to suspect that some form of foul play was the actual cause of Williams' death. According to the coroner, Williams had used his right hand to shoot himself in the left side of his head In addition, a bottle of alcohol was found near Williams' left side, as if he had dropped it while being shot. The gun used in the shooting was found to have fired two shots, only one of which had killed Williams. Williams' family has continued to investigate the circumstances of Williams' death to this date.

When Eddie Kendricks was being interviewed by Martha Reeves, Eddied said, “The Temptations were formed when Otis Williams & the Distants ( Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin and Elbridge Bryant) became the backing singers for The Primes ( Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams)”.
Eddie sang lead and designed the group’s outfits. Paul sang lead and devised the group’s dance routines. Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin and Elbridge Bryant provided backing vocals.

MY, MY, MY. Growing in the 70's and listening to THE MOTOWN SOUND. Although in the 70's Motown biggest years was behind them; the oldies stations at the time kept all of their music from the 60's fresh and influential. As a child for me it's was all about the Jackson 5ive, because these brothers was my age bracket at the time, but Motown just had so many great groups and solo artist to offer the world. The Motown Sound was like stated in this video really was so much more than great music, but it really did bring different races together. I thank God for the Motown sound. thank God we still have Otis, so sad that not just must of the original members have passed on , but alot of the replacements have gone on too. Just like the Spinners now with only one remaining original member left and also the FourTops with only one original member left. I hope that someday someone will make a movie of these groups beginnings. that would be a treat for sure. Nice video sir. Thanks for posting.

The Temptations were the total package. Smokey Robinson, while not part of the group, was well ahead of his time when it came to marketing music for the Temptations and Motown.
When I see pictures of the old temptations and hear the songs I kind of feel bad in a good way because the music lives on even though only one survivor of the original is left someday the music is all that’s left such a era in music and it was 60 years ago glad I was around when they were hits on Boston AM radio I was very young but remember most of them

Ron Tyson Has been a Temptation since 1983 and his voice has kept up the entire time. He did Eddie Kendricks justice. Richard Street was The Temptations before The Temptations and in between the Temptations reign he sung tall with them for 23 years for a good while only Ollie Woodson became the voice Terry Weeks, Glen Leonard, Theo Peoples, Bo Barrington, Bruce Williamson, ray Davis, Louis Price, Otis Damon Harris, and Eldridge Bryant All held it down for the longest. Without old is Williams driving determination to keep the group going right here into 2023 is the definition of passion. Have to give the man respect. There were no whites a part of the group. I'll tell you one thing I grew up in the 60s with the original guys and when Dennis replaced David many many fans didn't even notice. Things weren't made public to the world like they are now.

Their Legacy still continues. For example, The Motown Charm school lead by Maxine Powell and The Choreography lead by Cholly Atkins (RIP) was duplicated on The Popstars Shows all over the world and it continues with K Pop. Overall 2022 will be 60 Years for The Temptations, 40 for The "Original" New Edition, and 20 for the most successful Group to come out of Reality TV Girls Aloud. in The UK. Otis also told AJ McClean of The Backstreet Boys to stay on top of Business which they discovered The Hard Way wasn't as easy as it looked
