Generosity can be easily given away when the person is not your enemy. But can you be generous to your enemies? This is what Luke 6:38 means. To give to your enemies. Give abundantly even though they still hate you after you have given. Jesus says that we don’t just give a little but we give a good amount to them. As we are giving in good amounts, we will be given good amounts. “Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Luke 6:38 is not about finances. To understand that verse, you have to start reading from verse 27 to 37. And so verse 38 is about GIVING love, blessings, mercy, forgiveness and giving to everyone who asks of you hoping for nothing in return. And when u give all these things "...your reward will be great..." v35.
