    Until they remove the middle seat and introduce proper business seating that is wider, plusher with more leg room it will always be a joke in my opinion. As a tall person an economy exit seat is better.

      True. I'm 6ft, and the legroom is poor now, and the seats used to be different in CE. They aren't now. It's quite poor to be honest.

      Bro, I am on shocked, looking for a short flight from MAN to ZRH and the airlines in EU and Uk are shitty as fuck, to say the least.
      I know American brands aren't any better.
      Know any better airline with a bigger seat?

      @@Johnfulkan283. A couple of years ago I used Swiss LHR-ZRH and they provided a separate cabin with 1-2-1 layout. It was a long haul product and probably a one off because I haven’t come across this since then .

    Looking very nice here for this trip. I am glad you went to the British Airways Lounge. It is nice to be about to relax and to have a drink with a good meal.😊

    Great trip report, it illustrates that BA can get it right sometimes! It's the inconsistency that tends to let them down. Kudos to the crew for managing a full Club Europe service on such a short flight. Unfortunately most airlines in Europe have chosen the "Euro business" concept with the same seats as economy class but a blocked middle seat. I doubt that will change anytime in the near future. A very enjoyable video, thanks for uploading it.

      Thanks very much! Absolutely agree it’s the consistency that’s key and that has definitely been lacking in recent years.

    As a customer with special dietary requirements, I was pleasantly surprised to get such a large meal for such a short flight - London Heathrow to Manchester. But yes, definitely need to change the seats. Not having someone sit in the middle, doesn't make the seats business class. Still no leg room!!!!

    BA Club Europe is worth it, BUT only if you use Avios to purchase. The cash prices can be eyewatering, and even with lounge access isn't worth it.

    • @charlesontravels
      @charlesontravels  6 месяцев назад

      Yes and even harder to justify the cash price if status gets you into a lounge anyway. Can be worth it paying cash on a connection from long haul business though. And if there isn’t a huge cash difference can be worth the nicer experience and the additional tier points

      Recently booked business from LHR to Berlin Monday morning flight at 8.55am list price was £455 how can BA justify that ?
      paid combination of cash and avios £49 return but economy in the return flight.

    Departing from terminal 3 is better for club Europe flights as there is better lounges in the one world alliance in that terminal especially the Cathay Pacific lounge

    We flew Club Europe from LGW to Faro in late 2022 and were underwhelmed, given the additional cost involved. The crew were pleasant and reasonably attentive, but the food was absolutely dreadful and my other half actually had to ask to get an extra cup of tea. If you’re paying premium prices then you’re entitled to good service. I’m afraid it’s all rather typical of the dumbing down of service by BA.

    Question, all the seats within Europe short flights have this kinda ghetto business class seat?
    Or we have no other options, except a private jet?

    • @charlesontravels
      @charlesontravels  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah that’s pretty standard across Europe unfortunately, you don’t tend to get anything better on short haul flights

    I can see why BA have business seats the same as economy - they can create an adjustable business class area according to demand. They just have to move the curtain forward/backward. Great for BA, not so great for the pax. The big advantages of BA Club Europe are priority check-in/boarding, lounge access and extra Tier Points (if this matters to someone) - otherwise it's not worth it. I've found the food offerings to be pretty good and BA FAs are more than happy to hand out drinks.

  • @mechominecraft

    what the difference if you just payed for the middle seat

    • @charlesontravels
      @charlesontravels  6 месяцев назад +1

      Most likely it would end up costing more, you wouldn’t get the meal and drinks service, no lounge or priority boarding/ check in unless you have status, and I’m not actually sure if BA actually allows you to book a seat that won’t have a passenger. They’d definitely fill that seat if the flight is overbooked. If you have good status and book economy they block out the seat next to you for free unless the flight is fully booked, so the only things you wouldn’t get as gold is the in flight meal and drinks
