Restoring Iowa Wetlands

Next to prairie, wetlands were the most prodigious native Iowan environments. Today, some Iowans have taken it upon themselves to preach their value, protect the wetlands that remain, and work to restore those that have been lost.

Hopefully many restorations are close to destroyed wetlands so that crawling animals (turtles, frogs, salamanders) can get to them.

Destroying existing wetlands makes no sense except to the subsidized landowners.
