Like you I drove both cars and agree with your summary. I own an i4 M50 for about 12 months and drove about 16,000miles. Best car I ever had. I think once you own an electric car you will never want to go back. I also agree that the BMW 6 cylinder engines sound much better than the fake Hans Zimmer sound. MSRP is about $6k different if you compare the M440 and the i4 M50 which has a base price of $69k. Great review.
Yea and the price of premium fuel in Chicagoland closes that gap quickly
If you can afford a m50, range probably isn't a concern, but it does seem low @269 mile reange and I assume that is during warmer months.
I agree with the i4 M50 as the better choice over the M440i. I have the 2023 i4 M50 and so far it's been great.
I currently own a G82 M4C and I was looking to add either a M550i or this new i4 M50. My gf really loved this color and wants the i4 M50. We're going to see one in person to test drive from my local dealership prior to ordering. Great info and vid, thanks.

@@EVMotoring Absolutely...it's so important to spend more than a 1 minute in a test drive with a vehicle prior to purchase. Especially when you can compare them back to back.

At 2:12 you mentioned that the laser headlights can’t be unlocked in the US, but I know they’re available for purchase on the car. Is BMW selling options you aren’t allowed to use? Are they disabled by the dealer if you did purchase them? I agree, they look great and I love the idea of bright light at night for better visibility.
Yes, they are software disabled.
I bought a 430 because it's a liftback. I'll never use the rear seats and suvs aren't my think. i tried
Good point. I still have never found a use for a trunk. I wish all sedans had liftbacks
@@EVMotoring I tried suvs. I had an X1, X3, and X2 M35I. I really tried to like them, but the x1 ans x2 I found to be a bit twitchy because of it's narrow stance, and the x3, for me anyway, had abvolutely no road feel. As they say, to each their own
