Incredible stuff. Makes you appreciate Harvick a lot more.
i find this so interesting. a few takeaways: 1) i really undervalued waltrip and especially harvick 2) for all the titles i was surprised not to see JJ's name more frequently 3) surprised not to see kyle larson's name 4) makes me appreciate chase more because, over-arching comment, it's clear how stiff the competition is and how deeply talented the fields have gotten as time has gone on.
Such a cool idea. Thanks for putting this together.
Dale Earnhardt’s last #1 irating was a 4770.
Jeff Gordon 1st to 6k, Harvick 1st to 7k.
I don’t know what to do with this information.
Does this mean you can give SOF to arguably say which nascar era was the most competitive?
What about driver highest IR.
Yeah I have highest iR by driver all worked up right now. As for SoF, modern fields are much higher since there is a bigger pool of iRating to work with, since Busch Series stats didnt start being usable until mid 80s, and Trucks didnt start until the mid 90s, so when you have mid tier Cup drivers taking irating from Truck and Xfinity regulars, it inflates the SoF, as well as the top drivers iRating. I also have the ability to look at the weakest wins in history, as well as the biggest upsets. Lots of fun stuff to come.
@@kneebon5this series is going to be awesome.
The rating inflation was insane. It would be interesting to examine more closely the effects feeder series had on SOF, maybe even a parallel project using only cup results?
The Gordon/Stewart/Kenseth era before the mid 2000s inflation hits intrigues me. Also nice to see Dale Jr get a few.
This is a fantastic piece Nick, congratulations!
This just proves to me even more that Harvick is one of the best ever in the sport despite not having as many wins/championships as others
Last offseason I rewatched the 2016 season, and it really stood out to me how Harvick was screwed by the Chase/Playoff system, and seeing this just confirmed it even more.
Verry intresting to see the list. Looking forward to the following videos.
Great job getting all this together, it's really cool.
This is cool. I'd personally love to see one on the atcc/v8 supercars series. F1 and indycars would be cool, too. But seriously, it must be a lot of work.
It was fun wondering what the super project was about this isn’t gonna change anyone’s life but thank you for working on this and giving specifically iracing nascar fans a easy to understand with our knowledge
Races as top iR in 1998
Mark Martin: 22
Jeff Gordon: 11
Checkmate, Hendrickstans
Mark did a bit more farming than Jeff did
@kneebon5 did you calculate the Busch series as well?
Yes everything available
Jeff Burton sure was a surprise.
This is so cool. Cannot wait to see the stories you add to this!
Great job! Would love to see the same list if Xfinity and Truck iRating farming is excluded.
So cool!
Matt Kenseth spotting, let's go
Didn't expect the grind to take so long to increase the high iR. I would've though 6 and 7k would've be able to happened much earlier.
Yeah until you start adding in the xfinity and truck pool, its just mostly the same drivers trading iR with eachother. Once mid tier guys can go take iR from busch and truck guys, then the whole SoF goes up and high iR guys can gain more.
I was surprised to see Mark Martin up there in 2006! Interesting going through all of that data.
He did a lot of busch series racing so that helps.
@@kneebon5I would've assumed it was his 2006 truck starts that helped. The pair of Pennzoil 2006 Busch cars didn't run that well other than MK's wins at Phoenix and Homestead
thought I'd see more of Kyle Larson on here. Really cool
I know you are more a NASCAR guy Nick but I'd love to see the same done for Indycar or even F1
Can be done, may be a project later on
Just gave me flashbacks of what I felt was the ultimate era in nascar cup 1988 to 1994 dw hands off to de Wallace mark martin bill Elliott
I would have liked to see Carl Edward's have a longer career. I also don't like this stage racing that Nascar has been doing. Ever since they started, I have yet to watch a Nascar race. I get more enjoyment out of eNascar.
Would've thought all of Kyle Busch's Truck and Xfinity farming would've had his iR consistently a lot higher than it was
When you win those you gain like 20, when you lose them its -120
I’m so confused, iracing wasn’t around in 1949????
