Greetings from across the big pond. I ought my 2016 from Trucks CB, spoke with MRk. Very helpful, he advised me to measure off 13 inches on the top vertical, put the antenna up and flat SWR channels 1 through 40. Great DXing. Great vertical antenna!
Hi Jim, yes certainly a great antenna and i go a little wider than the fcc 40 channels and it is very wide banded, thanks for the info sure people will find this useful 👍happy dx!
I have the Sirio 2016 too. Had it up 9 months and in the last week the mounting bracket which the base coil sits on has bent over with gusts of wind which were only up to 50mph. Its 20 feet off the ground and the mast is still nice and straight but the antenna has took the toll. The base of this antenna is heavy and the way it overhangs makes it easy for the wind to bend it over time. It still performs great for now.
Hi Stewart, thanks for sharing not heard of that before in 50mph winds, i have put a video up of mine in stringer winds in storm Clara when it hit and no damage at all. Will be posting my yearly update video on the antenna soon. All i can think is maybe your poles are swaying allowing the bending to occurr not really sure what else could cause that, but glad its still working they perform very well.
@@britishcbradio1055 the the first pole is 2.5inch diameter with 3.25mm gauge thickness and second pole on top is 2 inch diameter 3.25mm gauge and also have a guy wire kit attached so hardly any flex at all. I'm going to loosen the clamps where the two poles are clamped together and face it the other way around. See if the wind can straighten it back out. I always get high winds come from the south west direction. I live in Edinburgh and since having this antenna up in the last nine months the wind has never been forecast more than 55mph. I've also got my own weather station in the garden and it's only clocked up to 50mph gusts. When it gets hit with the sudden gusts that's what's giving it a good beating. On the plus side it hasn't rusted on the bottom yet where the coax attaches. Definitely a great antenna performance wise had many contacts when the skip comes in.

Nice little report. I have only had my Siro 2016 a month now and sits just above the ridge tiles. SWR is similar to yours.
