My father-in-law nearly had a heart attack lifting me up in the air when GT scored his second goal.Man of the match and a magnum of champers :) Great memories and seeing him in action again to show the grand-kids is great as all we had was an audio taped recording.....ha those were the days. Thanks for uploading Steve x
.....can stevelina or any Evertonians explain the major reconstruction of the terraces at the Park End of Goodison around 1980? In this game we see them in their original condition, behind the goal to the left hand side. Four years later, they were substantially reduced to a meagre, narrow strip of terracing for away fans. Always a mystery to me.
The idea was to house home and away fans but didn't quite work when the likes of Man Utd came to town. The old Park End was great even with burgundy terracing barriers painted blue for start of 79/80 season.
The area underneath the upper park and was made from wood and was condemned following some integrity issues in a semi-final hosted at goodison involving Man Utd IIRC. The area was covered off with the blue wall leaving only the front concrete terrace and the upper section.
What a goal that 3rd one was. When Bob had the service from the wing he was deadly.
Big Bob one of the greatest number 9,s the club has ever had.
Well done to Ronny Goodlass too!
