You should watch the last match from denmark in the group stage, they had nice passing combinations to eriksen or hollundndropping in, specially in the left with a right footed fullback to take advantage of first touch passes to the inside
Awesome video. Feel like Instant Result is a big, big disclaimer though. FM sims the game in a much more simpler mode, relying on form, morale and reputation much more than tactics. Still going to try out the tactic though as I feel it suits my current Sevilla side 😆
love the tactic but a bit of an issue; eth only trusts dalot in the iwb role, so it should the rb who inverts, and this effects the recruitment since Man U need a LB the most of any position currently and it should be someone who can get forward and overlap rashford, allowing him to play the IF role he’s so good at doing, if anything Man U should be acquiring either a CB/RB hybrid (like an inverted fullback) who can create the 3-2-5 so we don’t need the half back and push a pivot into the segundo volante role or a backup IWB who can compete with dalot, that’s my opinion as a man utd fan
I made something like this tactic on my own. But I put in a PF(S) instead of a CF(S). I put the IF on attack. That balances it based on how United played with Rashford first season. IW(S) on the other side (Amad grew into it). The fullbacks were both IWB as they're supposed to, but this caused an issue. So I did what RDF did sort of. Not quite realistic. I tried Shaw on IFB but the match engine likes attacking fullbacks for counter attack. And the midfielders are RGA and VOL (S). I also made it route one with an SK on attack. And narrow. Press the CBs, let them play out wide. Works for me. More 2-2-6 than 3-2-5. But the players get absolutely knackered. But it's what a transitional tactic is. Counter attack and counter press all day long.
@@AlexDArch the aim wasn’t to have constant width - in transition, we want vertical play so I wanted narrow attacks - through the middle. The point was for positional rotations and fluidity in attack. Having players close to each other allows that. Having constant width means less interchanges with the wide player as he’s stuck wide whilst we’re trying to combine in the middle. Others may want width but I did mention in the video, for me I didn’t
Can you create a Prime Barcelona tactic from 09'? I feel like every other FM youtuber makes a tiki taka tactic that is accurate but not effective, can you try and make an effective one?
Do you ever do tactics which aren't press more/much more often, high press, high line, counter press etc? Like a low block without counter-press and not such intense pressing, for example. How about one of these with an attacking mentality, so that it sits deep, waits for the opposition then springs a lethal counter attack. In the FA Cup final didn't Ten Hag do this? Almost every tactic people post online is high press, high line, counter press etc etc etc... and they act like they've reinvented the wheel.
You'll struggle to find a team who don't high press. You can watch Everton vs Arsenal, and see if they allowed Arsenal to play out from the back from the goalkeeper freely. No. Why? Because it's extremely dangerous. Does that mean they "high press", no. But it means they don't constantly remain in a low block. They manage their game. Something you can't do in Football Manager. If you actually watch a game in Football Manager, you'll quickly realise how much defending you actually do in your own half. Check the Data Hub yourself. Use a high-pressing tactic and see where you're making your defensive actions - in midfield and deep in your half. So also understand that. Seeing "high press" in team instructions doesn't automatically translate to LFC gegenpress. Roles/Duties. Using a DM on Defend automatically means he drops off and not aggressive. Shielding rather than pressing. Using a more often trigger press or leaving it half way, that means your players will look to stay in their positions more. So again, if you use a 2 DM system, where do you think those DMs will be defending? In their position. Nobody acts like they've reinvented the wheel. I can't be reinventing something if I'm literally trying to recreate something. If you have something against it, simply, don't watch then you don't have to see it or comment on it. Or at least, approach with some decency where you can actually have a conversation about it. If you want something that I don't offer, simply don't watch mate.
And also, you're telling me ETH didn't do this against City when I quite literally have every action Man Utd have done this season using Wyscout. I can clearly see with my two eyes United pressing high. 22 seconds in - Ederson has the ball and Man Utd sprint forward. Man Utd's left back presses so high. 4mins 38secons - City have the ball deep in their half and Man Utd's front 4 are marking high 17mins 58 seconds - Same pattern. Ortega has the ball, Uniteds front 4 are marking high. Amrabat, the DM, right behind them. 20mins 25 seconds - United have committed 6 players pressing. Force the ball back to Ortega, 2 players chase that ball and press the keeper, United win the ball inside City's box. I can go on, just from that match. ETH wants to win the ball high and transition high. Of course, if Man City break the press, United dropped off and go into a 442. They did not set up deep - meaning forwards didn't engage. They absolutely did. LOL do people just make things up?

I was just frustrated that around the FM web I only see these high press, high defensive line, press more often, counter press tactics. Can I ask since you know better, does someone like Mourinho also play this way? Is there any team out there doing pretty well using a low block and counter attacking? Not necessarily a team winning trophies but a weaker team punching above their weight. If you accept my apology, is something like that something you might recreate?

Ten Hag is a terrible manager! Beaten by Copenhagen and Galatasaray at home and finishing the league with minus one goal differential. People saying he is a great manager because he got lucky in the FA Cup final nevermind the robbery against Coventry to even get to the final. All the wingers downgrade badly under him such as Antony,Sancho even Garnacho isn't very consistent. Ten Hag is at best a Championship level manager!

Just a suggestion. The IWB in the same side as IW on stay wider and the WB on the same side as IF. This way you would have width.
