In terms of purely aquatic animals for Transformers beast modes I feel like we're sleeping on the idea of a swordfish or a marlin. The fish head/nose becomes a rapier style weapon that's built into the hand so that you can't lose it and render the alt mode unusable. Probably something that works like a reverse of Skybite/Cybershark.

The funniest thing about Beast Wars is how the picked animals noone would ever would've done so before more popular animals. Like, they picked a weevil. I would've gone with the Echidna, since there are no monotremates in Beast Wars -Mosasaur: because there aren't many sea dwelling Predacons, and thus is as cool of a sea dwelling creature as one can possibly get. - Red deer/Elk: surprising there isn't one - Raven: very popular animal; there should've been more birds in Beast Wars - Narwhal: it's a cetacean with a very long "unicorn horn-like" tusk - Swordfish: another bony fish AND sea dwelling representant for the Preds - A sauropod: long-necked dinosaurs, the most glaring ausence in Beas Wars when it comes to prehistoric creatures Those are the ones that I can think of right now.

Yes he was. But locust is used to refer to certain species of short horned grasshoppers that form swarms and change their behavior under certain conditions. Not all grasshopper species do this though. Many are generally solitary animals. Another way to put it would be that while all locusts are grasshoppers, not all grasshoppers are locusts.

Loosely, yeah, but a lot of it was streamlined for Magmatron's triple beast gimmick (both design wise and size wise) given most of the individual beasts, if done as singular Bots, would dwarf the components individually for the most part if I remember right. None of them are to scoff at size wise since they were all pretty massive creatures.
There were a couple of Beast Wars stag beetles, Insecticon and Scarem. In fact I'm pretty sure Scarem was designed as a TM2 version of Insecticon before getting a name-change.
I think you could get kids to buy a termite or an ant transformer if it was actually a couple of them that could combine. You could give them the backstory of their bunch of drones for either side and these drones are all just interchangeable army builders

I also have a Fox transformer named Foxtrot, and she also has a flight suit that she can put on to allow her to transform into a jet... Just so we have a complete Chinese Zodiac... Rooster should have been mentioned. It's literally the only part of the Chinese zodiac that has never been a Transformer. While we're on the subject of Roosters, I always imagined an alternate take on Beast Wars set in the modern day where the Maximals all transform into domesticated animals while Predacons would all transform into wild animals. So in that line we'd also need a cow transformer to complete the barn yard animals you might see on a farm. And I'm imagining the utters turning into some sort of chain gun in robot mode.

I have an idea for the Quetzalcoatlus' conversion. Hear me out. You actually make it into a fairly *small* robot mode. Have mainly the center mass transform into the bot, with the front wing legs either becoming wings on his back, or long sideskirts. Then you take the neck and head, detach that, and turn it into a big polearm weapon - a glaive or a halberd.

Re: the Hippo at 11:30 G1 Breakdown. Use his original characterization so that he's absolutely paranoid. Would work well with the Hippo alt-mode given that Hippos don't like to be bothered, even by other hippos. 18:53 If you want it to serve as a rival to Megatron, you could maybe use the parallels of Megs' being ranged focus (given the T-Rex head in his original form, tail in his TM1 form and Dragon Head in his TM2 form being largely used as blasters) you could lead into maybe more of a melee focus. The neck/jaw could turn into some sort of sword arm with the wings folding into form the chest and the other arm. Perhaps have the wings themselves become some sort of cape in the process? The legs would just be the rear legs. Outside of the cape idea, I don't know how you would balance the weight. Plus I just like the idea of a large caped Predacon to serve as Megatron's foil.
The lion is the one that I really wanted in Beast Wars. Many Beast Wars Second and Beast Wars Neo beast forms should have been in our version of Beast Wars(especially the dinosaurs). A modern day version of Beast Wars could use animation to create new characters today using brand new beast forms.
If we get a Platypus Maximal, I bet he’d be a secret agent where to most, he’s just an average guy but to himself and a select few, he’s an action hero with a fedora hat and the codename, Agent P.
There's plenty of cool and distinctive insects that I'd have really liked to see. A bombardier beetle would be really cool. A wheel bug would be pretty neat if you make it a Transmetal and have the wheel be a functional buzzsaw. You could have water striders, mole crickets, leaf insects, and thorn bugs. They already did a weevil, but imagine a giraffe weevil! But the most glaring omission is, I don't believe we ever got a butterfly or moth. Yeah, you'd probably have to do some funky origami to use the wing mass for the limbs, but that just makes it interesting! Also, I kind of want to see them go REALLY UNHINGED with aquatic organisms. Crinoids, sponges, corals, anemones, sea cucumbers, sea squirts, starfish, gulper eels, anglerfish, seahorses, nudibranches, sea spiders, and more.
Tidal Wave as a blue whale?? What an insane idea! I love that! Apart from Depth Charge and Rampage, sea creatures are not so easy to make as a Transformer because of their aerodynamics, too smooth outer shell. But it's not impossible. In the insect realm, why not a ladybug? And name it Hardshell!
I could see a Quetzalcoatlus transforming similar to Titans returns Mindwipe. With how large their wings are you could panel them out and fold them together for the legs.
meanwhile I want a snail Transformer who is named "Turbo" as in a reuse of the Tonka Gobots character name and a reference to the DreamWorks animated movie.
for the vulture, I'm thinking a cross between Rattrap and Shadow Panther. As for the grasshopper, we technically did get a locust in the form of Transmetal II Scourge. and if you're willing to include a certain Beast Machines character we technically did get a Quetzelcoatlus. I'm surprised we never got a Deer. Imagine the antlers becoming weapons attached to the forearms.
Quetzalcoatlus could work very well as a Beast Wars incarnation of Thunderwing! On the subject of bugs, terra810 has plenty of Beast Wars-inspired Transformers designs that utilize a variety of animals and mythical beasts (Wallace's giant bee for Blackout, nue for Sixshot, phoenix with Star Sabre, etc.).
Don't know if there was one, but a peacock would make an interesting choice. Admittedly the tail might be very fragile. But imagine the personality of a Maximal that chose one as his beast mode. Preening, strutting around like a dandy, massively narcissistic. He'd probably also be very reluctant to fight, not wanting to get damaged.
A Kangaroo toy would just be a mammalian verson of Dinobot. For the ostrich I would make the long neck be one of the arm like Megatron. With the legs as legs and the wings on the hips.
I don't know how much demand this really has, but I really think there should be a pangolin transformer (could maybe even re-use Ironhide or Armorhide as the name, I don't know)
Hear me out the orca's lower jaw splits in half down the stomach (cybershark esque) and folds in upon itself to form the arms. The tail then flips up and gets bit down on by the upper jaw to form the torso as the legs separate from the back of the orca could be a unique design and I have faith it could work.
Oh please don't remind me of that disaster. I saw a crossover fanfiction between Sailor Moon and Beast Wars where Sailor Pluto was turned into a transforming cockroach Predacon. That is something I hope never ever happens again.
Saber-toothed cat - it would most likely be a Cheetor retool, but it would be a great homage to the Marvel Comics character! Thylacine/Tasmanian Tiger - I just have a love for this animal. I think it would be neat. Tiger quoll - they did a Tasmanian devil. Why not? Pangolin - they did an armadillo. Why not? Rhamphorhynchus - it would most likely be a Terrorsaur retool.
For Reptiles I have a simple suggestion and I'm surprised you missed this one. How about a flipping Komodo Dragon? They are pretty big, nasty, dangerous and have a poisonous bite. That's one that def hasn't been made in to a Transformer yet.
There is already a grasshopper/locust in Transmetal 2 Scourge. He sucks, but he exists. There's also 2 stag beetles. What I'd like to see is an empusa mantis. A fembot predacon maybe.
We got Spittor, and he's great, but I wanted more frogs. If we're using recycled Transformers names, how about a bullfrog named Bulkhead? Or a golden poison dart frog named Hot Shot? Or a tree frog named Springer?
A bit of cooking in terms of the insect and especially avian beast wars characters, but how about *_a flock of birds or insects as a beast mode_* - say a flock of vultures disperse and gather up to transforms into one robot mode, one set of vultures form the arms a torso and legs etc or you could go full on energon combiners with this and have four to five slightly varying vultures/carrion birds to take on one robot form a maximus-esque form, form like a massive throwing star/boomerang weapon from all the wing parts they have
I'd make a whale transformer by mixing the transformation of the G1 Dinobots and G1 Shockwave. Turn the whale head into the lower legs just like with G1 Snarl, use some outer panels and fins to make armor skirts and dinobot style wings. Then handle the arms the same way G1 Shockwave did; fold them together and instead of a cannon barrel make the tail a trident and shield.
another animal that could be used for a titan to fight the blue whale titan is the currently largest long neck dinosaur Dreadnoughtus, ironically it's a member of the titanosaur family lol. also id like a Carnotaurus... ok i'm not gonna lie, i want a beast wars line based on the Mesozoic period. also bm silverbolt was a condor so close enough to a vulture, we also have skydive from bm as a quetzal.

I have an idea for the Quetzalcoatlus' conversion. Hear me out.
You actually make it into a fairly *small* robot mode. Have mainly the center mass transform into the bot, with the front wing legs either becoming wings on his back, or long sideskirts. Then you take the neck and head, detach that, and turn it into a big polearm weapon - a glaive or a halberd.
I’d be so down for a Rhinox hippo retool. Jawbreaker is taken, maybe “Jaw*buster*”?

If you want it to serve as a rival to Megatron, you could maybe use the parallels of Megs' being ranged focus (given the T-Rex head in his original form, tail in his TM1 form and Dragon Head in his TM2 form being largely used as blasters) you could lead into maybe more of a melee focus.
The neck/jaw could turn into some sort of sword arm with the wings folding into form the chest and the other arm. Perhaps have the wings themselves become some sort of cape in the process? The legs would just be the rear legs. Outside of the cape idea, I don't know how you would balance the weight. Plus I just like the idea of a large caped Predacon to serve as Megatron's foil.

The lion is the one that I really wanted in Beast Wars. Many Beast Wars Second and Beast Wars Neo beast forms should have been in our version of Beast Wars(especially the dinosaurs). A modern day version of Beast Wars could use animation to create new characters today using brand new beast forms.

There's plenty of cool and distinctive insects that I'd have really liked to see. A bombardier beetle would be really cool. A wheel bug would be pretty neat if you make it a Transmetal and have the wheel be a functional buzzsaw. You could have water striders, mole crickets, leaf insects, and thorn bugs. They already did a weevil, but imagine a giraffe weevil! But the most glaring omission is, I don't believe we ever got a butterfly or moth. Yeah, you'd probably have to do some funky origami to use the wing mass for the limbs, but that just makes it interesting!
Also, I kind of want to see them go REALLY UNHINGED with aquatic organisms. Crinoids, sponges, corals, anemones, sea cucumbers, sea squirts, starfish, gulper eels, anglerfish, seahorses, nudibranches, sea spiders, and more.
Tidal Wave as a blue whale?? What an insane idea! I love that! Apart from Depth Charge and Rampage, sea creatures are not so easy to make as a Transformer because of their aerodynamics, too smooth outer shell. But it's not impossible. In the insect realm, why not a ladybug? And name it Hardshell!
Call the Kangaroo Skipjack - a combination of Skippy the bush kangaroo and Kangaroo Jack. And its also a name reuse.
I could see a Quetzalcoatlus transforming similar to Titans returns Mindwipe. With how large their wings are you could panel them out and fold them together for the legs.

As for the grasshopper, we technically did get a locust in the form of Transmetal II Scourge. and if you're willing to include a certain Beast Machines character we technically did get a Quetzelcoatlus.

Quetzalcoatlus could work very well as a Beast Wars incarnation of Thunderwing! On the subject of bugs, terra810 has plenty of Beast Wars-inspired Transformers designs that utilize a variety of animals and mythical beasts (Wallace's giant bee for Blackout, nue for Sixshot, phoenix with Star Sabre, etc.).
I could see a simple mythical creature of a griffin by a slight change of the silverbolt mold. Change both heads and the tail with lion fur color
Don't know if there was one, but a peacock would make an interesting choice. Admittedly the tail might be very fragile. But imagine the personality of a Maximal that chose one as his beast mode. Preening, strutting around like a dandy, massively narcissistic. He'd probably also be very reluctant to fight, not wanting to get damaged.
A Kangaroo toy would just be a mammalian verson of Dinobot. For the ostrich I would make the long neck be one of the arm like Megatron. With the legs as legs and the wings on the hips.
Kinda does make sense regarding how the ancient species Procoptodon would've look like while running.

I don't know how much demand this really has, but I really think there should be a pangolin transformer (could maybe even re-use Ironhide or Armorhide as the name, I don't know)
Hear me out the orca's lower jaw splits in half down the stomach (cybershark esque) and folds in upon itself to form the arms. The tail then flips up and gets bit down on by the upper jaw to form the torso as the legs separate from the back of the orca could be a unique design and I have faith it could work.
Oh please don't remind me of that disaster. I saw a crossover fanfiction between Sailor Moon and Beast Wars where Sailor Pluto was turned into a transforming cockroach Predacon. That is something I hope never ever happens again.

There is already a grasshopper/locust in Transmetal 2 Scourge. He sucks, but he exists. There's also 2 stag beetles. What I'd like to see is an empusa mantis. A fembot predacon maybe.

We got Spittor, and he's great, but I wanted more frogs. If we're using recycled Transformers names, how about a bullfrog named Bulkhead? Or a golden poison dart frog named Hot Shot? Or a tree frog named Springer?
A bit of cooking in terms of the insect and especially avian beast wars characters, but how about *_a flock of birds or insects as a beast mode_* - say a flock of vultures disperse and gather up to transforms into one robot mode, one set of vultures form the arms a torso and legs etc or you could go full on energon combiners with this and have four to five slightly varying vultures/carrion birds to take on one robot form a maximus-esque form, form like a massive throwing star/boomerang weapon from all the wing parts they have

Moths and butterflies came to mind, but so much of their body is wing mass I couldn't figure out how one transforms.
When it comes to bugs you could also do a dragonfly they're neat. plus you could do a Lexx collab ;p
I'd make a whale transformer by mixing the transformation of the G1 Dinobots and G1 Shockwave. Turn the whale head into the lower legs just like with G1 Snarl, use some outer panels and fins to make armor skirts and dinobot style wings. Then handle the arms the same way G1 Shockwave did; fold them together and instead of a cannon barrel make the tail a trident and shield.
another animal that could be used for a titan to fight the blue whale titan is the currently largest long neck dinosaur Dreadnoughtus, ironically it's a member of the titanosaur family lol. also id like a Carnotaurus... ok i'm not gonna lie, i want a beast wars line based on the Mesozoic period. also bm silverbolt was a condor so close enough to a vulture, we also have skydive from bm as a quetzal.
