True, but that's a paid extention where i talked about at 01:52 I tried to find a way to do the same but for free. If you have a job and need to create a lot off these kinds of roofs. I suggest to invest indeed in a extention like that or another tool.
True, i have looked in to it. The thing is, is that there are many ways to do it easier. But i wanted to show a way thats free. Also i have no 3dsmax where railclone is made for. But great tip for people that do use 3dsmax, thanks for sharing!
@@NijlandVisuals I didn't want to underestimate your effort, but I'm kind of sorry when people waste a lot of time, just because they don't know about some plugin or script, which sometimes turns a long-term job into a job of a few minutes. Unfortunately, I spent a lot of time at the computer, just because I didn't know of a simpler solution.
@@jwota6534 Thank you for the tip, I´m now 4 years into Archviz and still learning. I appreciate your comment and knowledge, please keeping doing that so we all can learn form each other. Thank you for your help!
For rendering purpose ( designer / visualizer ) and just focus only for the look of the roof tiles, maybe I'll agree with you. But I can do much more than just the look / tiles color variation.. I get full control of the roof element such as instant pitch degree change, barge, fascia, valley, gutter, down pipe, soft fit, trusses, etc.. and 2 most important thing about roofing... 1- design revise / changes, 2- technical drawing... this 2 thing solve within a minute.
@@jwota6534 Not many people willing to use railclone, mostly they will use Atiles.. I use railclone before I left Max years ago. Now I use Blender & Sketchup. Do you mind sharing your workflow experiences?
Great tips. Love the random selection extension to help make those slight material changes. Thanks for sharing your know how. 😊
Thank you my man! No problem, keep learning as I do 🤗
Wow, I was struggling with this. Thank you!
No problem!
Wish there was a faster way (for the slicing plane of the tiles) but i also donr want to spend any money so i guess were on the same boat now
I know. this is the free way. but I have done it twice and I can tell you spending 5 dollars for a tool to do it is way better and a huge time saver.
I had seen an easier method where they use a section plane for the roof slicing.
