I used to be in a band, I've heard thousands of bands and own hundreds of CD's, many of them hard to find. And Pest - THIS Pest, the group from Sweden - is one of the very best Black Metal bands EVER. "In Total Contempt" might be the best BM album ever recorded. These guys are the Michelangelo and Mozart of the dark musical arts.

This is black metal in my humble opinion. When it’s less raw and atmospheric and too blast beaty and edge Lordy it inevitably becomes blackened death imo. Also what a sick name for a band. ¡PEST! ÖUGH ☹️🤘

Its OK my friend you can't help that either your young or just found out about them! The fact you really like them means you have very good taste in Black Metal! I have been listening to Black Metal before it was actually named Black Metal! Since "1981" when Welcome to Hell first came out! And my good friend who has been dead now since "2009" from a Blood clot that went into his brain and killed him in his sleep! He bought Venom and Welcome to hell because besides Heavy Metal like me had enough of watered down music and wanted to get into something heavier. And believe me once he came home and put on that album I couldn't get enough out of that more Raw Heavy Sound. Them Merciful Fate then "1983" was the year that my favorite Old Black Metal Band Hell Hammer had a Demo out and Venom was not satisfying me anymore more its like taking a drug that helps for a little while to help you through then you need to get something more heavier to make the pain go away faster. Hell Hammer was the band or drug that did the job. Then in that spring of "1984" Apocalyptic Raids came out in NY record stores yes not You Tube or Even C D,s were out yet! And Then my second favorite BM. Band came out with there official first Album Bathory was sent straight from Hell! And the rest is history.👿👿👿 . I am 50 now and will listen to this music until I take my last Breath on this planet. Good choice man! Don't listen to negative people. Everyone has there own story how they got into the Black Metal Scene. Mine was through time and good friends and mostly on my own chances of buying a Vinyl at that time you didn't have critics guiding you on good bands or good ones!
