“Legend” is a term that gets thrown around too often. It’s a hyperbolic nuance that’s sewn its exaggeration into the surf world. Its sadly become another form of slang that gets lost amongst phrases like: boss, the man, chief or (insert exhausting expression here). However, there’s certain individuals worthy of the “legend” idiom. Ie: Jeff Divine: Legend - the cat’s been pausing time since the early 1970’s and is the esteemed cameraman and photo editor for the Surfer’s Journal - which to this day leads surf media in quality journalism. In his time behind the lens, Jeff’s shot everyone who’s become anyone in surfing. Whether it be Larry Bertlemann, Martin Potter, Mark Occhilupo, Tom Curren, Christian Fletcher, Matt Archbold or Tom Carroll - Jeff was there snapping the iconic photographs that have pushed modern progression. So it was a no-brainer for the creatives at Stance to team up with Mr Divine for their “Surf Legends” line - available exclusively at SWELL. And as the term’s lost its flair, nobody’s refuting that the above listed are anything but.
