Can't wait until Summer Sock Camp starts! I enjoyed seeing your plastic canvas project. I haven't seen anyone craft with plastic canvas for a long time.
I just love you! The “I’m going to train Piper - but actually train the family” story is precious. Thanks for all your sharing and generosity. Peace, my friend.
I was a dog trainer for 10 years and I used to always joke that I was a “people trainer” 😆 it really does make a huge difference when the whole family is on board!
Dear Kay; Thank you for sharing all-the-things; always inspired by the projects, dyers, & makers . "Prayer Socks" are an amazing idea; your friend will be blessed by your kind & generous gift. Currently participating in a 100-day knitting challenge where I'm knitting at least 15 minutes a day; amazing to see the progress being made. Looking forward to my 4th SSC 🏕; the 90's bag will be a great gift for someone to start camp with!! Take Care and Happy Making !! Best Always ~ Lori~ 🧶🐕🤗💜
So sweet that you’re making your friend a pair of prayer socks. I quite often spend 30 min a day on different projects-amazing how much you can get done. And the older clasps are lobster and I’m like you, prefer lever back ones.
Thank you so much for the tutorials! I learned how to make socks this year, following your patterns and now I’m obsessed. And I love that you include links to Etsy/websites to find amazing yarns and cute project bags on your podcasts. I’ve even started to go back and watch your old videos. I live in Surprise, AZ and it was fun to find you talking about AZ. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Thank you for another great episode. I'm really enjoying knitting your Whispers in the Wind socks in some old stash yarn... such a lovely pattern where you can just do 'one more repeat'!
Thank you for sharing your method for working on so many projects each day and that getting to all the projects doesn't happen every day, especially weekends. So happy to find a company that has faith based work! Have gotten lovely, wonderful Advents in the past and always felt that the reason for the season wasn't a part of my making. Including a verse a day puts my heart in the right place for that day! Looking forward to Summer Sock Camp! Enjoy your family filled weekend!
We got two pandemic puppies, which was rough because they didn't get as much socialization as we would have liked. But with some extra work, they're managing to keep all paws on the floor ... most of the time.
You have totally enabled me to get a yarn advent calendar this year. I've never done it but all of the yarn you've shown is so beautiful that I'm sure this one will be too. 😁
I am so excited for summer sock camp! I spent part of the day today pulling out all the yarn I want to use during summer sock camp! So excited and ready! I have a goal of 8 socks this year so we shall see!
I am knitting my first ever colorwork sock while I am reading my way through KM Shea’s Magiford books. The books are all trilogies. And there are 5 completed trilogies. They’re so good :)
I love following your projects and hearing about your dog adventures. Fantastic that you’re working with Piper now she will be so much better for it! Thank you for all you do. I love the bag too! ❤
I have a self-striping sock yarn in my stash and I think I’m gonna do the Heel Toe Do Si Do pattern for it. It’s just so cute! And that 90s project bag is rad! 😉
So exciting to see your other crafts coming out again! I've recently picked up my sock knitting after a few months, and it's so nice to be working on them again! I'll be participating in SSC for the first time this year; I've sadly missed out from working previously but I'm determined to make it happen this time 🧶
Thank you for all your tutorials - yes, what did we do before RUclips? I tend to be a visual learner and your 9" circular tutorial started me on my sock knitting journey about three years ago and I've been obsessed with knitting them since!
Love your socks & patterns. I learned to make socks from one of your videos. And keep training Piper--it is SO great to have a dog you have worked with. You bond so much with them. Enjoy the pup!
I am so excited. I’ve tried so many times to knit magic loop and today it FINALLY clicked with me. It is so much easier on my hands than the 9 inch circular. I love that project bag. I hope you will post some piper pics 😊
This will be my 3rd year of SSC. I love seeing everyone’s socks. I have also ordered my first Advent calendar because I have loved seeing yours over the last few years.
This will be my first Summer Sock Camp and I am so excited. I got down fabric to make myself a 90s bag, 90 colored sock yarn, and a Summer Sock Camp mug. 😂🥰
Kay, I, too, am a Leverback rather than a Lobster clasp gal! I find the lobster clasps too small and fiddley to attach easily. I also like that you can use Leverbacks as a BOR marker, too! I love your new completed socks! Eat the donut!! And that name for the yarn😂 Congratulations Krafty Mumma, enjoy the Alpaca yarn!!
Hi Kay! Sitting with you here on a Friday night enjoying and watching your podcast , while I crochet the Baby rainbow ripple blanket.. You inspired me seeing you make yours! I love this pattern, excited about summer sock camp again !❤😂
Those bags are so much fun! And I agree about sneaking in crafting whenever you can. I try to do the same as well and that helps each project get a little bit of progress each day!
That's a gorgeous bag. I'm so excited about Summer Sock Camp!! I've been watching your podcast from the very beginning and have participated in all of your camps. It's one of the highlights of every year.
90’s kid here! Loving the theme. Last year I participated and made socks for my sister. Going to make a pair of socks for myself this summer sock camp.
I can NOT wait for SSC! I've been working on so many blankets lately and I know that once the warm weather starts up, I'm not going to want to be working on them and will be all about the socks again.
Puppy training!!❤ I have two horses and love learning how to train them! There really is a cool connection and actual communication when you find the method that speaks to you and your animals.
I love the notion of prayer socks! Can’t think why we’ve never thought of this before! Glad Piper is settling in well and good luck with the training x
I love all your socks, the Do Si Do does look great in stripes. The plastic canvas tissue box holder will look lovely. The 90’s bag is awesome. I don’t bother finish reading a book if I can’t get into it, or like. There are just to many books to read. Have a great week
Thanks Kay for all the wonderful tips you give every episode. I'm really enjoying making rainbow ripple blankets at the moment and surprisingly there are 4 lovely families that have just had babies. So 4 blankets were made. Also love the heel toe do is do pattern - I"m working on some socks for me using this pattern.
You inspired me with your 30 minute increments. I also do cross stitch as well as needlepoint and knitting and crocheting. It’s hard to decide what to work on! So I started doing 30 minutes a day (when I can anyway) on some needlepoint Christmas ornaments and 30 minutes on cross stitch. And I do those in the daytime. At night is my knitting and crocheting projects
Totally understand your “day in the life”/vlog decision, we appreciate your content so much however you offer it! 90s fabric looks so fun, my 5-15yr old self likes the vibe.
We re -homed an 18 month old mastiff X and when she came to us she was a terrible jumper! She could easily knock you off your feet. I took the task of training her, it was tough but she wanted to learn and I am proud to say she is almost there. Training my humans was not so easy! I have to remind them more often than Lola of "the rules" I am really looking forward to the summer sock camp, I knit socks all the time but summer sock camp is fun. I must try and figure out Ravelry so I can join in on there too!
I am soooo excited that there's only one more month to wait for Sock Camp! Last year was my first year and I met so many awesome people. It was so much fun and I must admit, I was so disappointed when it ended. Thank you for all you do - you are an amazing inspiration to me!
I agree that lever-back progress keepers are easier to position/move than lobster-clasp ones! I try to select those if they're an option now (I use them instead of jump-rings a lot, too!)
This is going to be my first joining in Summer Sock Camp, and I can't wait. Last year was the beginning of my sock knitting, but it took me months to finish. Thank you for all you do! It is very appreciated ❤
Your weekly videos have become part of my routine and a great way to end my week! With a new puppy at our home, too, I can relate to your stories😊Olive is often in my chair with me when I watch your weekly video!
It's nice seeing you getting back into working on your other projects that are not yarn based! I am trying to do the same thing with sewing again but I just have so many yarny wips! I also can't wait for summer sock camp! It was super fun last year and will most likely be super fun this year as well!
Thank you so much for hosting summer sock camp! I have lots of socks that need their pair and summer sock camp is the motivation I needed to get working on them!
I'm so excited for summer sock camp! And yes for training dogs but everyone needing to be on the same page. I also have a Piper and live by myself. While she doesn't jump on me, she'll try everyone who comes over to see who'll let her.
I'm just under 3 weeks from my due date and your videos are keeping me sane while knitting for our wee one! Can't commit to the sock camp this year but really love the theme and is definitely inspirational for future sock knits! Thank you so much for the videos and positive energy ❤
Thank you for sharing about all the things your making. Talking about summer sock camp got me motivated to pick up my needles again and cast on a new project 😊
It’s a year of firsts for me. It will be my first year taking part in the summer sock camp. I’m excited as socks are my favourite things to knit. Also my first year buying a yarn advent calendar. There were so many to choose from it was hard to nail it down to one.
Good morning, Kay. I love seeing your weekly progress on your projects. I’ve been doing a variety of crafts as well this year. It has been quite enjoyable.
I love Mary Maxim! Also, I’m working through Freida McFadden’s books! Thanks for the suggestions, Kay. I read one recently called, The Last Flight by Julie Clark. It was very good and I think you may really enjoy that one as well. Now I’ve got my daughter reading Freida’s books and crocheting Bev’s turn on itself potholder! You are quite the inspiration! I also have socks on my needles and always your patterns. I know I’ve thanked you before, but again, your tutorials are the best. I love your RUclips videos so much.
I got a mystery scoop of stitch markers from Rhubarb and Honey on Etsy and it contained two matching leverback markers with tiny adventurine chips and they make the perfect earrings so now I always have extra stitch markers on hand! LOL Also I love that your go-to comfort for someone dear to you is to knit for them-highly underrated!
Hello Lady! It’s always a pleasure to watch your episodes as I feel like we’re chatting it up in an in person meeting and such. Happy crafting ❤and thanks for the inspiration.
I’m going to miss your daily life videos in December. So looking forward to summer sock camp. Your 2021 summer sock camp was my first time making socks. I’ve done primarily nothing but since. Love your how to knit socks tutorials

🤣 I didn’t even think of I that way and now I can’t stop laughing 🤣🤣
I was a dog trainer for 10 years and I used to always joke that I was a “people trainer” 😆 it really does make a huge difference when the whole family is on board!
Dear Kay; Thank you for sharing all-the-things; always inspired by the projects, dyers, & makers . "Prayer Socks" are an amazing idea; your friend will be blessed by your kind & generous gift. So sweet that you’re making your friend a pair of prayer socks. I quite often spend 30 min a day on different projects-amazing how much you can get done. And the older clasps are lobster and I’m like you, prefer lever back ones.
Working on prayer socks for a grandchild right now; what a joy to be able to bless others with wee smiles! 😊

Thank you for another great episode. I'm really enjoying knitting your Whispers in the Wind socks in some old stash yarn... such a lovely pattern where you can just do 'one more repeat'!
