Even with the best software in the world it takes TIME and effort to maintain inventory control. Sure once the products are scanned into the computer you know what you are SUPPOSED to have. Regular counts lets you know what you actually have minus what you have sold. So you gather all this information only to tell you that you have been ripped off. Share that information with your staff so they know you have a handle on it. The color lab takes a HUGE hit. The shampoo area has lots of waste going down the drain. I changed my whole system where the staff made 50% of the retail PROFITS. (Paid annually on December 1) This was based on what they sold MINUS their share of what "went missing" through the year. It was incentive to stay, watch the product, recommend more products. It worked like a charm for us.
I HAVE BEEN APPOINTED AS INVENTORY CONTROLLER HERE IN DUBAI IN A GROUP OF COMPANIES , IN MY JOB ALSO THERE IS A SALON, FOR WHICH I HAVE TO TAKE INVENTORY AS WELL. BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ALL PRODUCTS .... CAN YOU PLEASE ADVICE ME HOW AND WHEN I SHOULD START MY INVENTORY???
