Grieving through a loss is a process, and when that loss is sudden and unexpected it can hit us a _lot_ harder. So there should be no surprise that she would have that initial reaction for the first day or so, and that the loss is throwing off her normal routine. That's probably going to persist for a while since it happened so recently, and that sucks, but it's also a perfectly normal reaction to something like this. It's just one of those things that takes time.
