Coast Guard officials say maritime traffic will pick up this weekend at the Port of Baltimore. Crews were able to open a FOURTH temporary channel this week
As to why people ask "why didn't the bridge have adequate protection from such a catastrophic incident? " America was awakened to a horrific accident over 40 years ago with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa Florida. I remember then president telling all Americans this type of tragedy will never be seen again. Federal laws and mandatory safety regulations were instilled. Was this tragedy preventable? Absolutely it was preventable if guidelines, protocall and mandatory safety regulations were followed. I'm guessing someone made the decision that profits are more important than the value of life to innocent workers. I'd like to know who greenlighted the Dali as seaworthy for a 27 day voyage to SriLanka halfway around the globe without resolving it's electrical problems having at dock?
My guess is is that to prevent an accident like this would have resulted in a serious blockage of that narrow shipping channel. If they had stuck to the original plan of a tunnel that would prevented the accident.
This catastrophic incident was 100% preventable. New federal laws and mandatory safety regulations were instilled over 40 years ago after the Sunshine Skyway Bridge accident. I heard there were protective measures that could of been incorporated into the Key bridge but Democratic leaders decided it was too expensive. 6 innocent lives were needlessly lost. I'd like to know who greenlighted the Dali as seaworthy enough for a 27 day voyage halfway around the globe when it's electrical problems were not resolved while docked? The Dali summoned two escort tugboats while in channel for assistance however they disembarked before reaching open water(??) Coincidentally moments after the tugs left her sides the Dali lost main power, then backup power and finally emergency power failed as well (??).
Everyone please say a prayer that the 2 missing construction worker's bodies are found, returned to their families, and provide a sense of closure.
😔🙏
Thank you!

Has anyone explained why there weren't anti-collision dolphins on the vulnerable bridge piers?
Because there were.

Day 37...still no factual and honest answers
@@user-co7fb6qe5w It was preventable if they stuck to the original plan of a tunnel.
