Thank you Brady and good timing on your video. A few weeks ago I found and old table. Actually found it near the Ohio River. Someone dumped it.
48in x 30in. Hard wood top. Possibly oak or walnut. Has an old black finish or paint so not sure. I'm not a wood guy really but know enough to probably get this back in service.
The legs were the wooden farmhouse style. Only one leg was intact and rest were missing all but their tops. That portion was still bolted to the hanger bolts.
It has the same method of attachment as you showed on yours minus the Z clips. Just the two hanger bolts per leg. Apron is about 2.75in tall.
It's a neat old top and I want to do something with it. Might sand it down and add new legs. Make a shop type table perhaps. Thank you for showing me how those hanger bolts (lag) screwed into the legs. I knew there had to be a way but it was puzzling. I get it now and the two bolt method for tightening is so obvious in hindsight.
I think it has all the hanger bolts too but if not I'll get them from your link.
If you don't mind what did you use to place on the feet for the legs? I see they raised off the floor slightly. So it appeared.
I might use the same kind of squared post legs so I might match to what you have for feet. Thanks again for sharing and you did a really good job with explaining.
Thanks. Just completed this to use as a desk for my son. Only thing I would add is the holes to drill through the braces would be much better with a drill press. My problem is I don't have one. It's hard to control the drill, especially to go perfectly straight. But, my project turned out great thanks to your video. Thanks again.
Thank you for posting this video! I used it to make a computer table. This is the first "real" piece of furniture I ever made (other than a couple of slapdash book cases) and it turned out really nicely. It was especially helpful to link in the exact parts that are needed to attach everything.

I wanted to buy a nice (!) table with removable legs, googled and browsed for the last two hours on Austrian, German (I live in Vienna, Austria now) and Polish websites - NOTHING! I finally tried on youtube with an English phrase "removable legs". And I found your video - thank you!!

This is perfect. I'm making my first table and screwed up one leg trying to figure out how to get a stronger hold. Part of the problem is the wood is super dry redwood so it's pretty brittle but this is will be what I need.

I had trouble with a PED leg table that had a screwable leg but was why the table leg continued to break and fall off with I would have put bolts on the axle to make it big then add washers on the bottom bolt to screw in bolts from the side to see if it would hold

From your experience - do you think the threaded inserts will work the same or the hanger bolts are better?
Nice work man! You definitely have to get yourself a drill press. A big one and a bench top. I know it's easier said than done, but you'll wonder how you ever got by without one.

@Brady Hommel One more quick question. Do you give your customers a buyer beware type disclaimer on products for things like cupping, warping, shrinkage, cracking, etc? I'm getting into the business and I'm wondering if I should do the same.
Really like this video and how you explained it. I'm putting a table together and prefer a cleaner look of legs without any braces between them. Using your method, how sturdy is the table? Is there any wobble using the hanger bolt method you've shown?
Does this affect how much weight the table can hold? Like if the apron isnt attached to the leg by mortise and tenon is it weaker?
Hey Brady…..very fine work indeed. Just wondering if you’d recommend putting the table leg on a table saw, setting the blade to a 45*. Making a run of 3 inches and finally cutting the 3 inch piece off with a coping saw or a jack saw? Also, what size chamfer bit are you using, I only have a 1/4” right now.

Hello! Awesome work. I am doing this table now. How did you make the bevels on the table legs? I wanted to do some kind of transition. The only way i imagine I can do them is to improvise a cut with the router but I am not sure how. Thank you so much anyway!
I'm torn between threaded inserts and hanger bolts. It's for a tabletop so I'm thinking inserts since the material is fiberboard and I don't want bolts sticking out if I ever have to move it.

First time woodworker, never heard of a hanger bolt until today. Would I be able to take these out eventually if I wanted? (not using the C8 glue you mentioned)

Hey Johnny, A good mummy sleeping bag is a must... I have one rated for -20 degrees Fahrenheit... I also put reflectix insulation to cover the side windows... I also have a Mr buddy propane heater that I turn on before bed... I DO NOT leave it on all night. I dont trust the Co2 shutoff. but its enough to get it toasty warm before bed and body heat in the mummy bag does the rest!
@@BradyHommel a RUclipsr by the name of MAV has a MR. buddy he leaves it on all night with a carbon monoxide detector
How are you shipping? Do you have a preferred carrier?
This one I believe was fedex. I have also done larger pieces of furniture with fedex freight. I don't really have a preferred carrier. Either way they don't give a flying shit about your package so just make sure you package and protect whatever your shipping to the best you can.
@@BradyHommel The cost kills my pricing. I ended up renting a U-haul trailer last summer and meeting a customer from Virginia in Nashville. At the time my shop was in Phoenix. Needless to say, I lost my ass. I'm going to ship a bench to match his table, in a few days, and I'm desperately seeking the best advice for shipping. Thanks for the response.. @Sjuniquedesigns
