I've been out of coaching for the last 15 years. I'm thinking of getting back into HS coaching next season. I've been enjoying these podcasts, it funny how everything comes back to you once you start watching videos & reading. It's like riding a bike. Lol
TY coach - Always great videos. This one in particular because we exactly played a 4-3 with the 3 LBs as "single gap" as you said (B-A-C) and we exactly had this problem because we encountered more and more 12 personnel formations with 2xTE! So we managed to play a 42 defense (looking like 44 but the 2 OLBs were SS type indeed playing very wide to be able to force the outside runs inside or play the Flat or Man etc.). The basic technique of our 4 DL were 5 - 2i - 2i - 5 with several shifts for sure but let's say our DL were not any more confused when facing 2xTE because of the symmetrical easy alignements and responsibilities. But your own 43 is very interesting! To be said for me the defense strategies are much more interesting than offense because you can't just imagine plays and try them out but you must be ready to adapt to the numerous, colorful and surprising offensive plays from the opponent offensive coordinators. You must be ready for EVERYTHING with the limited tools your team gives you: I love this challenge! Have mercy for my English - Writing from France - GG
Good adjustment coach - the only thing I would do different is play 6i on the ends to protect them against a down block from the Tight Ends. In a 5-tech it's easy to seal them and make the alley huge. Great to hear from a coach in France, too!
2 years late but I’m just getting around to watching this video. Against a TE/Wing look we keep the sam in the box and switch it to cover 2 on that side. Giving us an additional run defender

Nice shoutout to Kyber Crystals.
Always great info from you. Any 4-3 under podcasts/videos?
Do a ton with using the Under in our 43 Defense System, haven't done it on the podcast or RUclips yet though
@@Joe4372 looking forward to those future podcasts 👍
I love the 4-3 it's so balanced and discipline based scheme. Yeah you need dudes but you don't need world beaters to get the system to work properly
What is the best pass coverage to run in the 4-3 & best Blitz to run for a 9 -10; youth team?
Couldn't find it on stitcher
Does the Atlanta Falcons run this type of D?
Coach how would you line up against TE/Wing - if it was Double Tight Wing or just TE/Wing to one side
All depends on what they're doing with it and who's doing it. For double wing we have a whole plan in our JDFB Coaching Systems package
