I remember restarting this mission a lot when I first played it. I was a naive kid back then and didn't know how2Serpent so I just kept spamming Ronins lmao.
For me, this is more difficult to survive compared to necromancer. It took me several days to survive it by eliminating nearby dragon camp. I didn't focus on producing too many ronins. I concentrated on producing crossbowmen, bandits amd musketeers and torchmen for peasant huts. Whenever I attack the enemy's camp, I always targeting their peasant huts to prevent them from multiplying.
You just need to rely on your heroes strength, especially the Necromancer. You can spam zombies by making him stationary (by pressing O) near peasant huts to farm a lot of corpses leaving you with an army of zombies. I also struggled a lot back then. I'm 19 yrs of age, and yet I still have a lot of things to know about this game. Specifically for this level, I rush destroying Otomo's base (LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LEVEL STARTS) first because it's the most fortified one and easier to level. FOR THE SERPENT!
It is ideal to destroy one dragon camp cause yow it's easier. They are annoying too. When you destroyed their own camp they will try to build again in another camp.. It's like cats and dogs mode rofl. This just gave me an all-nighter lol. Worth the play, I was hooked! Annoying mission. I just spammed as many swordsmen as possible with 4 geisha and follow a bit of this strategy at the starting point. The lesson here is have much more melee and just 4 geisha to heal. Make sure to get busy with attacking the range ones. This game is gold, never gets boring.
Man, I honestly am not sure if i beat this mission back then. I played Kenshi as a kid and now I´m 28 and probably a hell of a lot better then back then and holy shi* i just replayed it and jeeze this mission is soooo hard. I needed like 13 tries till i barely made it. I tried doing it like you have done but I´ve always been attacked immediately from the north wolf clan, my peasants been rushed also by the wolf and even when i took the dragon in the south they attacked me from 3 directions at once.. I beat the mission just barely with all my peasants killed by destroying the north wolf clan while defending my peasants at the same time, then building my base again in the north and cleaning up the west and then the south. But maybe I was just too slow and the mission gets worse the longer you try to survive.
Yeah, I struggled a lot with this mission too many years ago. But, to be honest, it's actually pretty easy once you have some understanding of the game's META and have a feel of how the AI works. :)

@@hisoka4549 There are two ways: 1. Steam (v1.56.4 currently) - It still has a lot of multiplayer problems though but a lot of bug fixes. 2. Gameranger (Requires the older 1.50q version and Gameranger program) - More stable multiplayer experience but has quite a lot of abusable bugs which some players use like Musk + horse insta-shooting etc. Personally, I have both. I bought the Steam version but the Gameranger version I pirated a long time ago. Multiplayer is VERY different from single-player though so you need to learn a lot of stuff. You can watch some of my other videos where I play online 2v2s, 3v3s and sometimes even 4v4s so you can see what multiplayer is like. ^_^ There are also other channels like BenLotus, Komikoza, Rony DaNightmare who are pro players.
You way of finish this level is totally different from me , the first thing I do in this level is make many swordmen as possible and make 4 geisha .. after that immediately attack the wolf at the top and destroy it and claim the areq

If you want to speedrun this mission, rushing the main Dragon base at the West will allow you to do that. As for units, just spam musketeers. If you aren't trying to finish it QUICKLY, then feel free to give those musketeers sniper scopes and have a few cannoneers with smoke bombs (These are the "meta" units for Serpent in multiplayer btw). Don't forget about the "B" hotkey to quickly enable/disable battlegears. You can just select all your musketeers and press B to toggle sniper scopes easily.

I think the otherwise, as Dragon usually has little chance against Lotus, while this is the only really hard mission in the Serpent path. And this is also the hardest in the whole campaign mode, just because of the bad starting position.
Utara is one of the most powerful heroes in the game. In multiplayer games, she is used in tandem with Taro, called the "UTaro combo" and it can insta-kill entire armies. Even without Taro, she is still deadly as she can stun a whole group of enemies just by taking damage. Do you not realize how damaging this can be?

Utara+Taro combo can destroy or severely weaken whole groups of units. Grayback is only mainly used to buff allied units with his howl and to sometimes tank sniper shots. .

Just keep practicing I guess. And remember to keep spamming musketeers. Another way I completed this mission was to rush the northern Wolf base and started spamming musketeers. If you want a lazy, but very easy approach, spam cannoneers (Plus some heals) and give them smoke bombs (From the Thieves Guild) and just spam it out (Using F1-F8 keys or B). That reduces enemy damage by 50% which makes the mission really easy. Plus, the AI doesn't know how to use horses properly so they are doomed.

When you attack a camp. Make sure you have backup troops to defend yourself
Spamming musketeers is also a good idea. After all, it is the META unit of the Serpent.

I've been playing this game for years but everytime I'm in this mission I forgot my tactics and struggle. Help please.
There are 3 ways. You can rush the southern Dragon base as I did, rush the top Wolf camp or directly attack the main Dragon base in the west.
