  • By popular request we have combined all 10 episodes of the Decker Family Hunt into one movie.
    The two groups had a blast on their African hunt. A bunch of plains game species were hunted, and the kids were taught a bit about tracking, skinning and also had to eat liver and heart from their first kills.

    I am not half way through your video and I am in tears. I have been to Africa 14 times. Took my son twice. Was going to take my daughter and she wanted her oldest to make the trip at 18. I was not wealthy my job took me to Africa and I made great friends there. I am sure your children and grand children will remember those days in Africa until the day they pass to a better life.
    To share the experience with your family is so special. I wish I could have taken my whole family there. Africa is so special and I would be there now if the virus had not hit us.
    I love your video and wish every family could experience your thrill.

    I can see from the emotions of this family their huge respect for the wildlife. What a great memory for this family. We've lived in Botswana, Zambia and now South Africa for many years and have shared the joy of the African bush together. Great Video !!
    To the Decker Family : Trust me when I say that I watch MANY hunting videos !! This was the best family hunting safari video I have seen !! It is truly a pleasure to see hunters like you come to South Africa. The appreciation, love and respect you have shown towards the bush & animals is awesome to see !! Many come here to "shoot". You guys came here as hunters to "hunt", not just shoot trophies. There is a huge difference !!

      Good morning, Last year I took my daughter, who is 30 years old on a safari in Namibia. We had an awesome time. I believe this is the reason I enjoy watching your movies that involve families. After seeing the pictures my youngest nephew said that he would like to go on a safari and take a zebra. I am now in the process of booking another safari (in four years) with the same family we stayed with last year. As we get “closer” to our safari I will very much consider contacting you to video our hunt.

    • @AfricanSunProductions
      @AfricanSunProductions  2 года назад +1

      The guides, or Professional Hunters, were Super and Nicus. Great guys.
      The Black Wildebeest used to be protected, their numbers were very low. Due to continued conservation efforts fueled mostly by hunting outfitters, their numbers grew to a very healthy and sustainable amount. This is the whole idea behind sustainable utilization. Increase and maintain wildlife numbers through funding generated by hunters. It works very well.

    • @timdecker9106
      @timdecker9106 2 года назад

      @@roosterslounge1697 I love the .338 Win Mag. I took mine to Africa for our first safari and used it to take a kudu, a gemsbok, a zebra, and a black wildebeest. I think the .338 Win Mag would work very well on most plains game including waterbuck and eland. I would not use it on buffalo for a couple of reasons. First, it would be illegal in most countries who have a minimum caliber restriction of either 9.3 millimeter or .375 Holland and Holland Magnum. Second the .338 does not create a large enough wound channel to reliably and cleanly kill buffalo.

    • @timdecker9106
      @timdecker9106 6 месяцев назад

      I sincerely apologize for taking so long to reply. I have no excuse other than I just simply missed seeing your question. In brief, the .338 Winchester Magnum is a very versatile cartridge that worked for a wide range of game animals during our safari in South Africa and Tanzania. I selected it because I knew that I was going to hunt a sable antelope in South Africa, and they have a reputation for being very hardy, or tough, animals to put down. I did not know what to expect in Tanzania, so I wanted to have a rifle and cartridge that I could use on the widest variety of game possible without having to worry whether or not it would be adequate for the task. Some would argue that the .338 Winchester Magnum was "too much gun" for the little civet cat - it certainly was much more than necessary, but it worked, and well! - and it was perfect for the Niassa wildebeest, Lichtenstein hartebeest, warthog, and impala that I used it for. Additionally, I did not expect to take an eland in South Africa, but when the opportunity presented itself, I knew that the .338 Winchester Magnum was "enough gun" to take Africa's largest antelope cleanly and humanely. @@roosterslounge1697
