I live in an area with frequent hail storms, large sized hail at times. I am thinking of watching for cute plastic style bowls that look like glass. I have seen them at dollar stores, discount stores, etc. I think less risk of broken glass all over the place due to a lot of the weather extremes we face here.
Wouldn't they melt in the summer heat? I live in the far southwest of the US. Santa Fe, NM. It gets HOT here. We're in a severe drought, so my flowers are going to be glass. I just hope they don't magnify the sun, to catch the dry grass on fire. That's ALL we need. In the meantime, I'll keep them on the deck or our patio in pots until I'm sure they don't. Another reader said they would. I don't know. I hope how ever you make your garden art, that it works for you. 😊
I love you're creations! I make standing bird baths from candle pillars and bowls, but I love the idea of making them from glass after seeing yours! I am now on a mission to find colorful glassware! :-)
I have done a few flowers , but watching you has answered a lot of questions for me thank you . I will be watching you a lot more. You know the silicone comes in clear as well.
@@MyLittleSliceofParadise thank you, now I am on the look out for hockey pucks . I live where it gets very cold -40 in the winter. Do you think I should bring in the glass items in the winter?
These videos make me want to go out to the local Good Will and find some glassware! I'm in the process of moving so that's not going to happen right now. But I've got a lot of great ideas for the gardens I am planning in the new place. Love this bird feeder!
This is the most gorgeous DIY. I think I’ve ever seen love your imagination. The squirrels can’t get in it either because the top is too slippery. Very cool. Kudos to you.
Your glass art is MY favorite. I live in Santa Fe, NM. We're in a severe drought, where everything is bone dry. We lost several trees and plants this yr, so much so that we're going to have to re landscape with drought resistant trees and plants plus hardscape. I want to make this type of glass garden art in the meantime at least to put on my patios and walkway. I have to be careful where I put these, so I don't burn anything down. I never thought of that until another person mentioned how the sun can magnify off dry grasses and catch fire. I'll be careful. Its something that everyone should be aware of. In the meantime, I love glass art. Thank you so much for sharing how to make these beautiful pieces! Blessings ~ 🌹
Thank you! You can always put these on a porch or in the shade... Make some solar water fountains for the birds since it is so dry there. Have fun creating your own! ♥
$$ Tree U can purchase battery powered mini light's to add sparkle at night! Gorgeous Bird Feeder! Can hear Bird's in back ground..They know U are making them a surprise!😂 Your Cat's are Beautiful😹 I see they help Momma with everything! Precious! Look forward to watching again! ✌Tina, from Georgia
Your glass creations are absolutely beautiful. I admire people with creative and talented minds. I just found your channel last night and am so glad I did. Take good care all....
Absolutely stunning!! Wonderful work! I only have 2 concerns, one, as mentioned by a previous commentor, broken glass from storms, the second is the potential for fire from the sun shining through the glass. While the sparkle is beautiful, perhaps a slightly more shaded, protected area. It might get a bit hot for the birds, out in full sun as well.
Thank you! There is always that chance that one could break. If there is a hurricane coming I would bring it inside. I am going to check on the dangers of glass & fire.. ♥
I had a hanging crystal and a few other hanging glass fancies in a southern exposure window for years. I added two other crystal trophies on the window sill. Not even two weeks later I thought I smelled a camp fire but didn’t think more about it till dusting next morning. The sun had focused through a crystal golf ball and burned into window sill easy quarter inch deep in the size of a quarter! Really burned not just charred! Needless to say they were moved to northeastern window immediately! I’m not sure if it has to be ground a certain way or any real lead crystal would do same. The hanging crystals were faceted but much less in cut surfaces! They remain in southern window but of course I’m aware now and hopefully I’d catch any changes after none for years!
the most beautiful bird feeder I have ever set eyes on, so serene where you live , you have a kind calm voice and your feline family are also so gentle not even touching the fragile glass 🥰 thank you , from Cornwall, UK . Hope you are all safe from the gators
Wow, thank you, you are too kind. My kitties are pretty well behaved and seem to like being on camera : ) Will watch for those gators! I have seen one from time to time.
Absolutely gorgeous. You move so gently and smoothly. I’m going to try this. I’ve never even heard of glass glued feeders. Stunning. Cute puddy tats too! Thank you.
You have some beautiful cats! How easy is it to clean your bird feeders and baths? Another wonderful piece. I just can't believe that these pieces come from your thrift store. Clear glass isn't something we see much in our stores. Dang it!
That turned out so pretty. The JB weld is incredibly strong. I would have liked to have seen though, bird seed in it with birds feeding. Maybe next time. Thanks again. 🦋
Very, very pretty and nice. I'm gonna try to make one like that. We have lots of squirrels. Live out in the country area. A lot of squirrels have a huge oak tree in my backyard and I thought I could hang someone on the lower branches and the top bowl would keep the squirrels from getting to the bird feeder. That would be a good idea. I could do a bird feeder in a water bath once for food in one food water. Thank you for what you do
This is really beautiful! I'm wondering how well it's holding up outside using the JB weld? Have you used JB Weld in the past on outdoor glass, if so how long does it last outside? Again, really beautiful!
So far the JB weld epoxy is holding up great! I had problems with some of the feeders when I used E6000. I still use E6000 for birdbaths. But am trying other adhesives...
I LOVE this bird feeder! I have to have one!!! I’ll be looking for all the bowls and candlesticks to make one for my garden!!! I especially love the shape of the big bowl and the green-tinted glass items you used. But if I can’t find those, I’ll definitely make at least one as similar to yours as possible. But I’d love to have several! I have no restraint…But oh my! This is gorgeous!
Thank you! That bowl was a cool find and I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for. It's fun to collect glassware and figure out how to use them later. Have fun making them! ♥
Absolutely beautiful. Question: How weather resistant are these? Do you take them in for winter? I find it incredible the epoxy would have the strength to hold up all this heavy glass!
Thanks for sharing! No I know what to do with all that unnecessary stuff I inherited from my mother. I'd recommend sanding the glass where you join the pieces. So the epoxy has a better chance to hold onto the surface.
SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed this video! Thanks for commenting, you are all an inspiration : ) Keep Creating! Sending love to all ♥
Love the greens. I like your vision of hanging items.
Thank you! 😊
A masterpiece! Would love to see it with seeds and birds
Thank you! Coming soon : )

Great idea! Plastic would work.. where do you live that receives a lot of hail?
I live on Vancouver Island and glass reflecting on dry grass can start fires, not to mention wind or squirrel.
There actually are some pretty melamine plates that would be durable and colorful and non-reflextive.
Wouldn't they melt in the summer heat? I live in the far southwest of the US.

Gorgeous! Question-Does the JB Weld work better on glass than E6000?
Yes it does! I found that it works better for a hanging weight to use a stronger adhesive.
That is so pretty loving the color great job

Beautiful - brand new to your channel. Have you ever tried 100% silicone instead of the epoxy for outside? Just curious. Thank you.
