I'm pleased that they fixed the jungle hexes, but bamboozled that they didn't fix the 24 hexes. Yes they work, but they are significantly stiffer than the original ones and they prevent maps from resting flat on the table. I will probably pick up these terrain expansions eventually, but they aren't a priority.
Really looking forward to the snow expansion. The only snow me and my brothers ever had was 2 2 hexes that came in one of the little figure packs. Don't remember which one though. Also, I never had any trees before(just finally ordered RTTFF the other day, about to have my first trees), and the snowy ones look awesome.
I do love the snow set. It makes me want to get 3, but I think I am gonna have to resist and only get 1 or 2. Maybe in the future I can get more. I will probably get at least one Swamp Set, but I really don't need the terrain since I got 2 SotMs. But I love the color of the bushes. I hope one day they will make a box of just Sight Blockers. Maybe like 3 Trees, 3 Bushes 3 Jungle Tress ect. Honestly the white bases on the trees really improve the trees even in the simplest way.
That's great news about the plants! I haven't tried the current 24 terrain, but was disappointed with the AoA wave 1 24's. I will probably get a box of this and see if I can hang. If it's good enough, I will probably see about finally getting a pile of the new stuff. I really want to replace my old terrain, but so far, my old terrain is better than the new ones I have.
Thank you for confirming they fixed the jungle bush issue with the swamp expansions. So could you say the old ice tiles be used as wellspring water tiles?
Wow the snow set is so pretty, especially that ice! Quick question for you, is there a gameplay reason for how come the pine trees aren't built into a terrain piece like the swamp plants are?
The original evergreens from Road to the Forgotten Forest were based the same way, I think the main reason was construction, the plant bits go into the base so it might be a bit more difficult to do them on a cap like they did on the Evergreens.
My guess is the reason things are brittle is because they are old and had a number of years between them. They used a different plastic. Now they are using the same plastic
Renegade only needs to be consistent with themselves. Putting those lines in to be consistent with product that's obsolete makes no sense at all. Have to move forward!!!! They are footing the bill for production and the licence!
happy to see ice tiles and trees are well done. You are my go-to source for opinions on Heroscape.
Been waiting for this review! I’ve been excited for the re-release of snow!

They should have made wellsprings purple
I actually like the high fleckiness of the new snow. Those winter trees look really...cool
@@RogueScaper I agree…it’s just gunna be a little annoying sometimes to be using new and old ice together. But they’re close enough I think it’s okay.
Looking forward to this, my snow hexes haven’t aged the best out of all my old stuff
it’s 2025 and we still have the jank 24-hexes
Can't wait to see the maps you build with all the new snow. I consider you as one of the best map builders!
@@PizzaBerni aw thanks 😊

Beautiful knife!

@@GreatWyrmLord I mean, you could…theyre pretty close.
Agree with your comparison assessment on the ice/ice/wellspring tiles. Likely pass on these terrain sets as i have enough hexes for now.
I'm glad that they fixed the trees
The new ice tile would be good like the center of an ice lake the the Olds are God for the edges in terms of map looks

Can't wait to get mine in like 2 months

Are the new swamp tiles brittle like second edition water? Or is it the same as age of annihilation’s new water?
I would assume they're strong, as the original swamp pieces seem to be stronger than the second edition water pieces
likely way too early to tell
My guess is the reason things are brittle is because they are old and had a number of years between them. They used a different plastic. Now they are using the same plastic
@@joegodfrey8044 they’re super solid
@ thank you
where are the common squads
I knew it, the box art on Renegade's site for the snow set is a lie.
I'm not sure how there is an issue with wellspring and ice. The ice to me is very clearly blue while the wellspring is very white
Good lord man you pick over everything.
@@lordnovas huh, first time I’ve heard someone complain about that 🤷♂️
