I feel like a Ken guide would be fun. There are some interesting stuff regarding counter hk.tatsu (last hit), counter thunder kick, meaty lp.hadouken xx v-skill (far) and meaty ex fireball into light normals.
Very very informative!! Thank you guys so much. It’s like Capcom somehow decided to make G more viable. Which is kinda funny since he was at the bottom in the tier list in 3s 🤣😂
SonicSol great vid, can you do a video about how G can deal with the corner? i play alotof G and everytime i find myself in the corner i struggle big time especially against fang, i played a strong fang the other day and once he put me in the corner, and because G doesnt have an invincible move or 3F i couldnt get out of the corner, i mean i tried everything but nothing worked, do you have any ideas how to deal with the corner pressure?
You can't do meaty command grab when you are +11. Your grab will whiff because they are throw immune for 2 frames on wakeup. You must be +9 or +10 in order to beat a 3f jab. If they don't have a 3f then you can be +8 as well.
Why does wiffing a light attack before command throws mean you don't need to time the throw? I get what a meaty attack is, but does it like change the properties of the command throw itself?
No it doesn't. But a meaty throw requires a very precise frame advantage so you can't reliably time it manually. The reason for this is your opponent is immune to throws for the first frame when he gets up. So if someone does a 3f jab on wakeup, your throw has to land on the 2nd or 3rd frame exactly which makes it almost impossible to do consistently. By whiffing an attack, you can control your exact frame advantage and input the throw during the input buffer so that it comes out on that exact frame every time, removing the need to time it manually like he says in the video. One thing to note however, is that he made a mistake in the video because you can't do a meaty command grab if you are +11. Your grab will whiff due to wakeup throw immunity. It only works if you are +10 or +9 (against 3 framers). Against 4 framers, you can be +8 as well. The meaty command grab that I use the most often is level 2 LP Smash Over, dash x 2, command grab. Most people backrise midscreen and if they do, you are +9 in this situation so the command grab beats 3f wakeup jabs.
I don't think "Mr. Angry Tan Man The Lion Face" has any dirty set ups with VT2 besides the obvious lol this has inspired me to try and find more out about my character 😃
There was one (I think by Tokido) where you're doing a blockstring in the corner into EX shakunetsu hadoken xx VT cancel. Now during the VT cancel animation you can see if your opponent is blocking high or low. If they're blocking high, you do cr.lk and it makes the rest of the EX shakunetsu hit and juggle the opponent into your EX DP xx VT2 tatsu xx VT2 zanku hadoken. If they're blocking low, you do instant overhead j.lp and as the rest of the EX shakunetsu is juggling the opponent long enough for you to land and do EX DP xx VT2 tatsu xx VT2 zanku hadoken.

1.You used Rooftop Run (Night) from Sonic Unleashed as BGM in the G Tech Video (Love What You Did There) 2.You do a great job explaining and performing all the tech setups for these characters which is really informative and neat. 3.I Love This Video (Nice Job) 4.Could You Do Some Nash (for your sake or Ryu (MINE) next time?
SonicSol *Facepalms* whoops My memory of Sonic is getting worse by the day OH NO!! (Heheh) Well I just thought you would like to show us what cool things Nash can do. (I Considered Him When I First Played SFV & So did my brother so maybe I can show it to him)
His VT1 is stupidly powerful. I don't understand the logic between some triggers (ie Sagat VT1) getting just two uses and not having enough combo potential nor doing damage and some, such as G VT1, having multiple uses and doing tons of damage. Nerf hammer is coming I say.
u sound stunningly ignorant, u want sagat vt1 to have several uses with his already strong fireball game? besides, vt1 fireball hits 5 damn times! ,u want combos go for vt2, G having all this stuff comes at the cost of having no 3f and no reversal unlike sagat
LOL. Look who's being "stunningly ignorant". First, Sagat doesn't have a 3f and his reversal option leaves him ready to get bodied if the other player guessed correctly and blocked. Second, his "strong fireball game" doesn't exist in this game. Every character, even those who should inherently be weak against the fireball game design-wise, has a way to deal with fireballs in this game. If you're falling for his fireball - DP game, then you should stop playing this game. Third, VT1 hits 5 times? Are you a joke? What does that even matter as long as you can't get the first hit in? As for G's stupidly OP VT1, he can do it everywhere and everytime without having to worry about 1-running out of meter while using projectiles, 2-the opponent jumping in on and punishing him for sending the projectile at a wrong time, 3-the opponent blocking and punishing accordingly, since everything is safe. Add to all that the fact that you get a combo that takes about 40% of your life if you get hit by JUST ONE OF THE MOVES. He has no reversal you say? Sagat has one and can't use it in braindead ways like G can use his VT1. BTW, wanna talk about Juri and his V-Triggers? Both of them? Or are you still gonna defend G and his OP VT1 because you think Capcom balances its fighters perfectly well?
Man no wonder I was struggling against g so much with akuma last night lol. No but seriously can you make an akuma tech video? Trying to learn him and it's been alot more trouble than I thought. I don't want to hear the robot tell me my trash record with him before every match anymore.
Are you serious or are you joking? In case you're not, if the g player has solid game sens it means that if you do it often you will be punished with a throw, Or they will just block it
Option selects in sf5? Combo friend gonna get mad, since he pretty much hates option selects and he was the dude they consulted for sf5 if i recall correctly. Also, set play in sf5? Is capcom taking a page from bandai namco's book and making their game actually fun to play again?
LaMonte Roberson I am aware of that but I'm pretty sure he had a hand in making street fighter 5 the way it is, and he has said before that he hated option selects, but i dunno who said it was a good idea to give characters slow and stubby normals though because as far as i know, combo loved playing neutral in sf4.

Juri? Plz
For anyone watching this in season V, the first 50/50 mixup no longer works as is. Must replace CMP with BHP. Imo this is stronger.
Probably one of the most well done guides I've seen in a long time, thanks a billion
Initially I thought G would be fun (obviously) and have alot of gimmicks. but this dude.....is legit scary, and in the hands of a mad man like Nemo...

Capcom, please give us a costume code for G that makes him wear his jacket like he does on The Fool card.
I'm not the only one that recognized the background music from Sonic Unleashed. And recognized it as a nighttime level.
Can you do a video on how to buff ryu and alex?
Neither needs buffs.
loving the twitter tech series. cool tech for new characters is great, how about some guides on how to play *against* new characters?
We need a 3 hour Nash Tech Video.
Thanks for making season 3 great again!
G: It's Super Tuesday!
If you show some basic Urien 50/50 aegis mix ups with tutorial how to do them - it will be great 👍
Abigail tech or Sagat
Maybe some Vega or Blanka
blanka would be great

G has the fire powers of Gill, Kolin has ice.
Cool. VT Guide?
G is the only character I want to play in SFV, and the reason I picked it back up. However, Im getting the feeling he isn't newbie friendly, lol.
Some ken tech would be awesome.
Did you know G (i mean Q ) has a 50% damage standing spark taunt. Stand next to the opponent and just watch.
HE IS UNLEASHED FROM THE DUNGEON.
that music at the beginning... is it Sonic Unleashed?
yes, empire city night stage if I recall correctly (ps3/x360 only stage)
