I have had timing chains break it's fairly easy to do if you don't turn the engine over and line up your marks before removal there should be a mark on each gear usually the teeth wear off in the chain gets sloppy that one definitely needs to replace I usually start mine before I put it back together to make sure I've got it in the time😊
@OBS_Ford_Diesels_Inc Yeah, I think I am or basically convinced to just replace the timing chain. Once I figure out how to do it. Hopefully it’s not too difficult.
Some have little dots groves unto the gears to line up, some have arrows. Timing chains fo brake but they also jump too your is loose and may jump a tooth soon. Use brake clean /wire brush to clean, should see the marks easily once clean
After all this work I sure don’t want to have to go and Terry depart again in a short time. So yeah, I think you guys are all right in the common section time for a new timing gears. Set
A timing chain cannot be directly tightened; if it's loose, the only proper solution is to replace it, as the tension is usually managed by a dedicated tensioner within the engine, and attempting to manually tighten it can lead to damage; consult your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on replacing a timing chain.
5.2 liter dodge engine is very much basic apparently no tension no nothing no guide’s just a Shane and two sprockets lol I’m Stuck with the only option just replacing it
heard someone mention rax beef thought rax was on the rise again.but no used to eat at one in st clairsville ohio as a kid always liked the milkshakes (ahead of their time) they had.and liked the turkey bacon club.but if ever get chance again like totry the beef as well.i know my dodge dakota blew a compression ring (what someone called it)blew white smoke all over had to park t for years then later sold it saw it running aroun near another town.the timing id check around on that.
Yeah. RAX brand is just about to completely collapse It’s been a zombie. Brand for at least 15 years I’m surprised they haven’t completely gone under yet
@steelisthemeal I change every 5K and I have gone about 7k and one time I went about 12k not recommended gunked up piston rings and started burning oil
I just wanna meet up with you before i leave dude aint gotta be the compound what about rax beef theres one in joilet im buyin i been wanting to go there before I leave gonna be going real soon
@@steelisthemeal you want to hit that rax beef place is it any good I seen that there's only like three of them left it's like a zombie brand so I said screw it let's go
@@steelisthemeal and after I get settled come on down and see me for a weekend bring Pallet Man and Scrappity we'll go fishing I'm right by the water like 10 minutes
@scrapahaulik5893 it is a zombie brand and I never see any customers in that one In Joliet I should drive past it in a hour or so … I have to go to the Walmart in that area anyway
Quit scraping that stuff off something's going to come loose after you put it back together and go plug something up inside the engine make sure you spray it off real good with some brake clean or something get all those pieces out
Oh yeah I’m being extremely cautious about the obvious it wouldn’t take a whole lot of loose debris to plug up the oil pick up Then I’ve got major problems after that
FACTS INDEED TRUE gotta filter out some of them berry land & jabba 🚙types lol Thanks yup gonna take a look and see if there’s a few knowledgeable folks I’m sure there are
That bag of tools certainly has been handy 👌 😀 😄

Excellent advice thank you, Bill
Definitely time for a new timing chain king. It's pretty loose. Best to do it now and avoid more serious problems later on
To be honest, I was on the fence about it, but sounds like great advice
I don’t feel like TEARDOWN this thing up anytime soon
It looks like a fair bit of work just to get to. I know I definitely wouldn't want to do it again

That chain needs replaced. It's loose meaning it's stretched
I’m going to try something like that it’s pretty greasy. I’m going to soak it first with some chemicals or something.

👍 just pd a man $50 to pick up a junk car, only way to get rid of it 😞
Come on king. The things you do makes me lose sleep. Scraping it with a screwdriver won’t fix it.

lol. Gotta give it the jabba /beemer style of repair 🤪🚙

Mine's got almost 230,000 I wonder what mine looks like
Well, you have a little bit less mileage than mine, so…….
Probably not much different & this is changing oil every 4K miles about
@steelisthemeal I change every 5K and I have gone about 7k and one time I went about 12k not recommended gunked up piston rings and started burning oil
Ohhhhh jeez yeah oil cheap engine is expensive
If your that far in its not to bad to change. Would be better to do in the SHOP
Need more electric inside the shop so I can see what I’m doing
10A service is a trickle
