  • Hailing from the Argentine city of Córdoba, Julián Álvarez's rise in football has been fairly sudden, leaving River Plate after 4 years and joining forces with English Champions Manchester City. In only his first European season, The Spider has collected 4 trophies, in one of the most decorated campaigns any player has ever had.

    Julian is a great all round player, an endless ball of energy! All these people saying he should leave City.... Why so? He will play more and more next season. Look at Jack Grealish during his first season at City, he barely played a game. I can see Mahrez or Bernardo leaving this summer and Alvarez stepping in on that right wing like he did at River Plate. The boy truly is a special talent and will get the game time he requires. 16 goals for City and barely playing the first 3/4 of the season is pretty damn good!

    • @constanzaferrer4672
      @constanzaferrer4672 10 месяцев назад +12

      but there's such (not so) subtle difference. Grealish sucked the first season at city, and even the first games of this season. Alvarez on the other hands has been proving every time he played. People compare him with haaland and underestimate him, treating him as if he were an inexperienced kid when the truth is that although he has some things to improve, he was a major contribution to Argentina winning the World Cup, and he has the capacity to play in important games. Even if he stays, the team is built around erling, to serve and provide for him. If he has personal ambition he should go to another club, because the reality is that with a good team around him (just like haaland at city), he can compete for individual prizes. Haaland is a top top striker, but I'm not sure how far the difference is with Julian.

    • @kieranllewellynfishing
      @kieranllewellynfishing 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@constanzaferrer4672 well said sir! I do think he'll get his chance to shine at City this season playing just in behind Haaland or a more central role or out on the right wing. He was a pretty big contribution to City last year contributing 17 goals, not a bad tally as a sub for most games. To pass on a talent like that would be criminal on Citys part. I doubt he'll be moving anywhere this coming season anyway.

Him picking City was his best choice, with all the world-class players to learn from, top range coaches and state-of-the-art facilities and the greatest coach of all time Pep to learn from. He has already stated how much he loves being apart of the team.
    It would have made him happier when he came back after the world cup to be embraced and congratulated by a team of superstars and people who he did not even know that well yet but treated him like family. As an Argentine, i didn't see many Argentines complaining about Julian making it to the 26 list, because he was already a City player and at the time, Lautaro was the only real striker we had, so we needed someone else there just in case, don't confuse rival fans with Argentines, Boca Juniors fans are not being serious in their critism against River Plate players, because it's all about the rivalry

    I hope he leaves City soon, he's wasting his potential there. I like him more than haaland, but don't take me wrong, haaland is a monster, a robot, an amazing striker who almost guaranteed you one goal per match. But Alvarez is more than a striker, his pressing is amazing, he's there to help and fit the team more than the robot. Messi could do his magic in part thanks to Alvarez. There was a big difference in the way Argentina play with and without him in the pitch.
