It's a web series based on a book I wrote ten years ago that I never finished or published but had a cult following on Deviantart!
It follows the story of a limping lioness named Nothing looking for a new pride to call home. It's a bit like Watership Down, Warrior Cats and Whitebone. It's a story loosely based on actual animal behaviors with an (eventually) empowered disabled lead. It handles themes of mental health and feminism, includes LGBTQ+ characters, as well as a hefty dose of fantasy, ghosts, goddesses, and magic!

When, if, she finds her new pride her name should be Something. I feel like it would be kind of a memory of her past, and how she overcame it!

But her new name in the book was storm and her old name was hobblestep, not nothing. I guess they changed things in the series but its still so exciting and cool for me. I CANT WAIT
It's nice to look back at the trailer and see how things changed in the actual series. I personally think the changes made more sense. 😊
I like the change of how the one that kicked her out of the pride changed into the one that just killed quickmane. I really do like the changes a lot more though as well ^^

Man, so many things kicked out. The memories AAAA. I remember when this trailer first came out, I was so excited. I'm glad I was here from the beginning of the series, because watching the growth of it was amazing.
I don't know much about the original story, but I think I'm glad that the changes that were made in the end were made. I can't wait to see where My Pride goes, I don't think I've been so invested in a series on RUclips as much as this.

Oh this is gorgeous! As a disabled person stories that revolve around a disabled protagonist are always extremely nice to watch- I'm truly hoping she doesn't end up ""fixed"" in the end and instead is able to prove to be useful with different coping mechanisms! This is really exciting, Tribbs!

This came up in my recommend, I was like "Sure I'll check it out..."
After about 5 seconds I recognized the art style. I thought it was someone else- but I checked your profile. It was not her- you wrote Cow of the Wild. I remember the everything about COTW. I got hit with the feels.
In conclusion: Old RUclips series vs. New RUclips series, old gives me chills, new makes me giddy inside.

Looking back after watching episode 10, It amazed me on how much the story and designs evolved. Still an amazing series regardless! Thank you Maddi and crew for making this wonderful series that is so easy to just binge watch this over and over again. Again, A huge thank you to the crew for this amazing series.

@@judejenkins2771 In the written version of the show they had 'captured' nothing and made her work for her to help keep away other lions/the leopard and her cubs that were also cut from the series, the one that had fur ripped from her neck was born a red collar ((I THINK)), the AWDs had a certain rank system that certain dogs born with a certain colored neck stripe were higher ranked than others, and the torn neck dog was 'denied' this by the AWDs tearing the fur out each time it grew

Ive been watching the series already and came back here and just realized that the lion here who killed her father, Starmane, is different from Quickmane who actually killed Starmane and took over her pride. I had a feeling that another No Mane(male lion looking for prides) bested Quickmane in combat, owned the pride, thretened Nothing to kill her like he did with Quickmane, thinking Quickmane was her father, and was exiled with Feather, one of Quickmane's son, a male.
Honestly i hope Tribble can see this. Its been in my head for along time really.
Omfg I think you're right, because the designs are different in 0:21 and 1:03 so it couldn't have just been a change in design surely.
TigerSwipes i actually just notice that because of your reply but what i mean is the design of the lion being talked about here is different from the design in the actual series of my pride. If youve seen the first ep then saw Quickmane you can see its different from the Quickmane here, they have different mane and skin color

It’s so cool to see the changes in the new trailer. There is one thing I hoped to see in this series though, and that was the wild dog scene. But the differences and improvements in the actual series are amazing!

The lion at 1:25 has the same scar on his snout and ear as Fire....I have a bad feeling about this...I know that a lot of things changed and all, and a lot of characters have been cut or replaced, which is why the "just like your father" line doesn't work since it would be "our father" but, I still think the scars can't be a coincidence and we might witness a darker side to Fire. Regardless I could be wrong, really hyped for the finale!

@@MowDaCat You seriously think that this show’s entire audience is 18+, or 14+ for that matter? Teenagers, kids, and even impressionable adults consume this content. Displaying toxic behavior through a main protagonist WITHOUT confronting that toxicity and calling it out is so blatantly harmful. How is that not obvious?
@Fallen Fellows If your secondary protagonist is a toxic dickbag, that’s a big fucking screwup on a show writers end. If you keep those behaviors without acknowledging that they’re flaws and correcting those flaws, then you’ve written a toxic main character. Hover is not supposed to be a toxic lead, she’s supposed to be a likable, supportive girlfriend. Even if you’re aware that Hover is displaying toxic, bad behavior, that’s still a problem since that automatically makes the audience member unsupportive of her, or less so. That is not the intention the creators had, so it’s still a failure. I’m well aware that this line isn’t in the show; all I’m saying is that they best keep it out of it, or at least keep her toxic personality out of it. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to take that route anyways.

I literally keep watching this trailer because of how awesome it sounds with Oil Slick as the background music. It looks and sounds amazing. The ending with Nothing facing the giant ghost lion or whatever it is catches my attention and it’s beautiful.

Clicking on random stuff due to boredom just turned into "I should look out for this *EVERYDAY*
If no one realizes this, but this is speaking a strong message, like, even if your a burden to people, and no one wants you, you feel like, well, something that’s bad. But your really this gem that is meant for something greater then what people see from there eyes, and bad things happen for a reason, and you need strength like Nothings, (the lioness) to persevere.

tell everyone you know, online and offline - word of mouth is a huge power and a big key in whether the show gets 'official' funding is how many people might watch and how excited they are for it - so just being a fan can help!

Huh. I really like the premise in this and how it's set in Africa. Interesting. The voice acting was decent and the designs look cute although the designs for the jaguar and wild dogs are not so animation friendly lmao.
The one thing I have to critique as a trailer is that there's too many zooms on the characters. It's a little distracting and I hope you're not using too much of that in the actual show cause it can take someone out of being intrigued with the story n what not. I hope it has a balance of dramatic camera movement and subtlety put into it. That way the shots within each scene will feel naturally put together with the right amount of timing and camera work put into it!
But nonetheless I am excited for My Pride! I've been following your work ever since I was 9 when I watched Cow of the Wild and you've improved greatly ever since the first episode of it! :D

I can't wait for this series!! Already the characters all seem so unique and I love Nothing and Feather. I cannot WAIT to see it become bigger and bigger, and I really hope y'all can get your funding. The animation here is so smooth and it sends me back to the early RUclips days if warrior cats. It brings me so much joy to see how far you've come as an animator, because you really inspired me when I was younger, and animators like you helped me start drawing. I wish I could contribute financially to this series, but for now I'll have to settle for just giving it tons of views!!
