Do people understand how god damn painful it gets to drag that screet board all day on a 10k sqft pour. It f'ing sucks. Im never doing concrete again. I have a lot of respect for anyone who does.
Anybody who knows this trade...and I do mean the real masons, not the wannabes, know with this kind of job site,You do what you can.Somedays are better then others, somedays you get more help then others. Its rough and it’s all heart that gets you through the day.NOT one person is the best!!!Its a team effort always, sometimes you don’t get the best product, but like a battle, you try,you learn, then if you have to ,you lick your wounds and try again another day .!!!
I started out doing manual labor. Whellbarrow, digging, mixing. Hardest work i ever did in my life. Make's a man out of a young punk. I've been going for 3 years strong now im 27 i still have along way to go.
stefone james agreed brother. It definitely made a man of me. I was a young punk and my neighbor put me on some concrete work( forming and Sawing and core cutting and pour back) it made me into a man and I'm also now 27. I live down south in Texas. We don't have any u ions down here so there's a ton of illegal cheap labor being done. Cash operations etc. stay safe my friends. Keep Calm, Pour On!
I guess I'm the only person that says the pump guy did a great job getting that hose through the window without tearing up the place. I've pumped mud for 14 years. Love seeing a gravy day at the office.
Thanks for posting this. Coming from New York City, watching many a high-rise go up, I have always wanted to see the action up on the working deck when the floor slab was being poured. Can't see this from the ground. This video was instructional as to how it's done. It's a labor-intensive process, with skilled workers screeding, floating and troweling. I'll bet those hard workers go home tired after a day of pouring. Terrific video!!
I'm from Dublin Ireland and I have worked on Concrete Pump's for 20+year's from line pump's to a 63m Putzmister whould love to go over to the USA for a little bit just to see how different thing's are done. And to see if can learn anything new and maybe show you how we do things in IRELAND.
I was a Superintendent, I have seen and walked on alot of Concrete. I can tell you this, This is a excellent flat work crew, I suspect they do it all. The pumper operator 👍 the rakers were Fantastic 👏 the guys on screeds have great eyes 👀 The rakers get serious props because I didn't see more than 3/4" of mud behind the screed. The finishers look top notch as well. Respect boys keep up the good work. Loose that Turner Hivis vest.
That we call “kick rod’n” it works great and is fast! But when you need a standard method in the industry, you get what you see here, smooth and steady.
I'd love to work like that. Atm im in a concrete factory and that shit is rough, standing there and chopping concrete for 8-10 hrs a day is not really anything for me, but the pay is good atleast :P
Love the video brother! I'm wit Local 40 here in RI cement mason 2 year apprentice! Love the music my Christian brother! We need more men of God in this line of work! Praise God for you!!
Dillon Fratus as a new mason apprentice for the last 2 years I would say construction has way more proud Christians than ever I experienced working in offices for years.
We do it here in LA basically the same way. 15k sf deck a 24 col on avg a core on a 5 day cycle. Pour at 80 to 100cy per hour poured out in 4 hours. Drop columns and pour those too. We stopped taking the core up ahead for the most part. So we catch that too. Done!done!lets go 50+ stories all day long. Only difference is we work in the sun. Good job!
How did you get the boom pump confined in the opening? Why are you using that thing to screed? My screed has a spirit level on the handle. I like how the slabs getting done in sections I can see the forms. If its done in sections it will cure unevenly that's why the colour changes. I don't have a problem with the look of the column timber but I've had a column accident and that shit is leaning. I was doing a course. I suggested that they use a scaffold system on formwork columns.
I live in Florida wish we had big unions lik this.... Hahaha I have been pouring concrete for 12hrs straight 3in slump all day n I find myself watching u guys pour concrete 2 unwined. LoL I guess the saying is true u gotta b a lil crazy 2 do this shit
Bosco Da Pro Pouring at a 3 sucks, but it's usually what they call for with sidewalk, highway and plant work anymore. I stick with building and trades work as much as possible where they'll allow you to place a 6 or 7 and have an easy day.
amazing video ! inspire me a lot ! I saw the columns contain so many steel reins, but notice that the floor didn't have much steel reins in it. here i have a question: did i miss some procedures or the floor do have less steel rein? the floor seems like 4-5 inch thick.
Im running same business, we do same job with only 4-5 men in crew. Also I’m buy whiteman multiquip machines I’m imported from USA, they are the best but most expensive :) Greetings from Poland good work guys
I have a question. If someone can answer me, that would be appreciated. Do you have to put something over the pex water lines sticking out of the concrete Like a sheath of sorts?
That shit look easy but is the hardest job ever trust me
Incredible how strong concrete is. One moment it’s fluid and the other moment it holds a 100+ meter building up.
Do people understand how god damn painful it gets to drag that screet board all day on a 10k sqft pour. It f'ing sucks. Im never doing concrete again. I have a lot of respect for anyone who does.

I poured concrete for almost 8 years. It's one of the toughest jobs out there.

That's a tough job because your bent over and stooped a lot of the time.

Never seen people stop to cover foot prints. Usually just kick it with your feet while doing it. Great work.
That we call “kick rod’n” it works great and is fast! But when you need a standard method in the industry, you get what you see here, smooth and steady.
Never thought I would watch this for 11 minutes, but I just did :-) Cut the music for the next one please... Good work though!

I pour little job's like driveways and patios but you guy's are the pro's
The weather in Texas hardens cement real quick
Hope those columns are in the right spot.
So this music is playing for the guys to enjoy?
Proud to be #UNION440!
is it only me, or does anyone else feel that the reinforcement for the floor looks so insufficient
Should have put some mariachi music....nice vid!
i think this the best job in the world
Fuck yeasss I used to work for SAK.. Doing the same for years downtown 💯💯
I tell you something. AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE THE BEST.
Where’s Jose and Jorge?
Saludos desde Vancouver Canadá 🇨🇦. Hey ahí no conocen la mágic ?
I started Rodbusting today, aha. Crazy shit
Is this a roof?
There's sooo small rebar quantity
These kats operate like a well-oiled machine!

No gym goers there. Just grafters
No sleeve or conduit on water lines?? Ok
I miss the high rise life
610 Laborers local in the House Marguerite Concrete we live for this shit Boston Strong
This slab looks simple and slow pace and where is all the rebar ?
Dont you guys have to worry about levels?
Good job guys.

Why column Formwork in place before concreting? Is it no space for storage?
Somebody get these guys a Vibr screed already......jesus
This looks so much fun😂
Holy shit people still are working i Seattle!
Werk werk werk very nice and and good job 💪👌💙
thanks for your video.amazing workers.
They allow pex in highrises? And yeah no extra conduit for it?
Is the concrete poured over a wood deck first? And then the wood removed afterwards?
So they have to keep polishing the surface until the building is sold? Dang.
Lmao dam that straight edge ain’t no joke homie was falling lol
Nice music and good educational video.
Concrete day is the best day
Use your feet to kickback the concrete not your hands lol
Erik The Jerk lol same thing I was thinking
NUCLEAR BUM correct haha I've kicked and pulled wth hands
On a normal slab you would but you see all the crap they're walking on. Pipes, lines rebar that's why they use their hands.
Aqui Brasil, construção de vocês muito linda perfeita ...
How much does that elevator operator make?
The concrete has reached its sitting time after 4hrs that is why they can walk on for power floating.
Good job and work
Last time I checked, adding water to the surface makes the concrete weak and as a result, causes the cream to flake off over times.
Cement Mason? I'm a CONCRETE finisher. Salutes from Colorado. 4 to 5" in slump, government specs, every day, and we chicken walk on that rod
A CEMENT MASON is the age old term of those that started the art of concrete finishing!
Nothing is greasier than concrete work
CrossKia the finished piece?
Why was there all the video? I came here for the music.
where the heck is the rebar in that slab? what hold together the concrete? :D cos overtime it will crack up and fall apart without a rebar mesh
Im looking for the rebars. Is this a post-tensioning system or sth? Plz express these ambiguities in next vids.
good job
Im running same business, we do same job with only 4-5 men in crew. Also I’m buy whiteman multiquip machines I’m imported from USA, they are the best but most expensive :) Greetings from Poland good work guys
What is that cold mud an you work it an it get hard An everyone can play with that mud an paint 🎨 it too. Wow 😳 that looks fun work
Bro I'm a painter 👩🎨 in San Francisco Ca local 3
Union brother spread the word, we need cement masons up here
no magic screeds in america we have them in dublin and london makes live easy
592 philly here, looks good.
Why are there no plumbing drains or vents
I think that this is filing concrete for mechanical and electrical equipments. َAre you agree? However its an art work.
Can sum1 pls explain what is being done at 7.10 onwards
holy shit OP this music is a good way to take a dump all over this video. You achieved Mute status on this gj.
I wanna get in this job
I have a question. If someone can answer me, that would be appreciated. Do you have to put
something over the pex water lines sticking out of the concrete Like a sheath of sorts?
I love being a finisher
Crazy job
Look at that guy with a hose !! Just trowing water like crazy that is awful !
Same same in Singapore
got in 1983, old school.
Come south Florida let’s Baker boys get down with you’ll man you’ll did a good job man
Why there is no bar fixing on the slab and just pour the concrete on top?who can tell me
There is a similar working procedure in Chinese construction work site.
Don't they have remote robot machine to smooth out the pour?
How deep was that pour?
Brutal.
Why does he stop screeding to refill the hole of his steps he can keep going and fill them back in with his own feet lol
