It backfired later on but no fucks given about that rly. I would have more fun too destroying them if I rly didnt give a fuck about it. Fair play to the dude he had a blast and smashed it. As much as he comes out arrogant he is that way cause he has the money and can be. If he didnt have the money I'm sure he'd be just as smart about shit in a nicer way till he made it up there.
Edit: Point is, I'm convinced he's way too smart to not be able to play it differently, he just did it that way.

He is the ULTIMATE Survivor! He defined the rules to which the other splay by. They play his game and not the other way around. Those jury idiots were sour grapes plain and simple.
Oh, I am soooooo glad to find that others see this as I do. I do not see him as a villain at all. Are you kidding? It kills me that people see him as a villain. That scene with him leading his three starved and bedraggled tribe into the merge against a tribe of 8 (!) is magnificent. That the other tribe just ate itself one by one thereafter while Russell held onto ALL of his people is sheer miraculous and genius. I hate when he is not credited for the loyalty he shows to his people. Once he picks his Lieutenant (Natalie in that case), he NEVER turns against them. He had to have known she would win over him and I was livid that she would not even give him the title he wanted. Why is villainous to say outright 'I want and intend to win.' Or to outwit, outplay and outlast? ALL 8 of that other tribe ate each other and he didn't lose a single person. The man is amazing.
I'd like to see him play again, it's just the only problem is everyone's seen him play and he'd always get voted out early now.

Russell is a guy you just Love to love, but probably won't vote for in the end.
The only thing I would change is Russell's jury speech. That tribe that literally ate itself one by one when Russell and his three starved and exhausted people showed up at merge, with their twisted angry faces glaring at him like the devil. Who put them there? That is all I wish he had said. YOU did this to yourselves, not me. I would vote for him but I wouldn't get to jury on the game.
This guy is like the bank robber who goes in with the machine gun but doesn't bother with the loot bag, the mask, or the getaway car.
Russell destroyed his alliance with Danielle and Parvati because he didn't like that they were close, they were his alliance from day 1, and he voted out Danielle. He threatened all the villains soon after the merge telling each of them at least once that if they don't do what he says they're going home next. He schemed with Rupert and Colby to vote out Parvati because he didn't think he could beat her for the million.
Russell is 'loyal' when it suits him, not loyal to stay with his alliance.

jury management: you're doing it wrong
There is no way he played season 19 wrong. Rewatch it. It was, point blank, a bitter jury that gave the prize away to someone that road on his coattails. Period.

He did not make people angry. They cannibalized their own tribe of 8 as soon as Russell led his tribe of 4, starving and exhausted, over to the merge. He didn't lose even one of his people and he took Natalie to the end despite probably knowing she would win over him. She should have given him the title.

It's very easy to get to the end if your social game sucks. That's why those "stupid girls" got the votes.
If you go over to The Funny 115 v 2.0, you'll see a picture of him with Natalie, and another with Sandra wearing a tiara. Just click on either picture. Then read the entry; each of them explains perfectly why Russell lost.
Russel probably the worse social player ever, he can't get passed his ego. Winners know how to manage people so they win, not to make it to the finals with no chance of winning.

Ok, first of all learn to spell, spell check should help a lot. Second of all, people like him for his aggressive game, which centers around manipulation and controlling people. He is one of the most, if not the most entertaining player ever. What do you mean he doesn't play a good game? He got to the finals, twice! doesn't matter if people saw it or not, it worked both times and players like Natalie and Sandra rode him to the finals. He kept his tribe alive in a 8-4 disadvantage in Somoa.
Especially HvV he got to the end with a lot of control which i'm still amazed. The Tyson, Rob, Danielle Blindsides where all great.

Exactly, these haters just make me sick. Let's look back the season 20's title"Heroes vs Villains". In fact, all villains were sitting in the top three. Why don't you guys choose the best villain wins? As we know Russell is a villain, he doesn't suppose to play as a hero. That's ridiculous. In the game, they all lied one another to some degree. However, Russell maintained his loyalty with his early lines in season 20. Those people who were sitting in the jury are so fucking fake.
@ivyperson11 He got in trouble with the law by spoiling both Samoa and HvV by breaching his confidentiality clause and getting sued for like a million for it. It's because of him I couldn't enjoy those seasons because he and Fat Fuck spread the spoilers EVERYWHERE so that everybody who DID NOT want to be spoiled would be, and would be entirely. It was SO satisfying seeing him get owned this season. Oh, and Krista/Stephanie getting owned too didn't hurt.

I couldn't agree more with you. Russell made light of his his alliance several times without legitimate reasons. it was really stupid. so needless to say he is a horrible social player, and he is even a bad strategic player.

@lookimsorryful It is very entertaining to watch him, but objectively, he's not a good player. It doesn't take guts to be an asshole in Survivor because there's pretty much no consequences... apart from never winning.

I think Russell played his first season good in Samoa, but afterwords, he just got cocky. He is horrible, and he was such baby for crying in the last season he was in, c'mon! If you play the same game in three seasons, yeah you're gonna get voted out! OMG when he said stuff just comes out of his mouth, REALLY? You can't go through life saying stupid stuff, he should know that by now.
russell is the king of survivor, imo his better than hatch. Hatch created "alliance", russell showed how to use the idol and how to win this game easily.

HAHA, you're honestly saying Natalie controlled the game? I honestly think you need to rewatch it. He DOMINATED the game and Natalie merely coattailed. The whole Foa Foa tribe would have been voted off if russell wasn't there after the merge. He found the idols to blindside the members of galu, which the members of Foa Foa would have never found without a clue, like he did. He manipulated Shambo to switch. And it's a game and a show, so entertainment matters. he Outwit, Outlasted, Outplayed
He also played John the Rocket Scientist like a fiddle to get rid of Laura and officially get the numbers advantage. He was a genius. Definitely should have won season 19.

Russell is a horrible player. He lies and cheats alot more than anyone else, so no-one can respect that. That's the only way he can get to the end, whereas every other winner didn't need to do that. He is not good.
I've never liked Colby. He is a tool.
