    There is no weakest link in this band. And Space Truckin' is a BANGER! Caution, playing tracks like Highway Star and Space Truckin' while driving will almost certainly lead to flashing lights and the question, "Are you in a hurry to get somewhere Sir?" 😄 Thanks for reacting to this album bro. 😊

    If you continue to listen to albums, choose In Rock and keep in mind that these songs were created in 1969 for the most part - no one played like that then, let alone sang.

    I know without looking that many peeps here have already recommended "Made In Japan," the live album that has even better versions of many of the songs found on MH. So I'm joining that choir because it--literally--can't be said enough. We'd love a separate reaction, but even if just on "your own time," you won't be disappointed. Def one of the best live albums ever!

    Fun fact , , did you know DEEP PURPLE is in The Guinness Book of world records for being the loudest band !!?? One more , you have to check out Child In Time , live 1970 , it will blow your mind , and can't wait to see your reaction to the 18 minute version of Space Truckin from the album MADE IN JAPAN !! If you are doing Rush next , I'd go with 2112 !! Otherwise try the TEASER album , by TOMMY BOLIN , fantastic album !!!

    • @bookhouseboy280
      @bookhouseboy280 2 года назад

      The 18+ minute "Child in Time" from 'Stockholm 1970' blows the TV video that everybody reacts to out of the water. "Space Truckin" from 'In Concert' 1972 is an even better all-around rendition than the MiJ one. Great Tommy Bolin suggestion!

      Why did The Powers That Be decide to take it out? (BTW, when I was young teen we students ultimately lost our lunchtime music privilege at school after the student DJ one day blasted the song "Erotic City" by Prince. If you know the lyrics, then I am sure you can imagine what a scandal that incident would have been in a conservative community.)

    This album was always one of my faves but Silas I feel you need to diversify a bit more to get a general sense of more musical roots. DP, PF and LZ are some of the giants of the industry and there are many more. Try going back further to mid 60s with the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Who, The Beach Boys who are all giants too but until 1966 had been building their craft by experimenting with different instruments and recording techniques. I'm not saying they were tame just different in great ways too. Even go further back and listen to a few tracks from the 50s blues, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Albert King, Fats Domino, Howlin Wolf, Bo Diddly and Little Richard I reckon you'll get a kick out of them also. ✌

I will leave you to keep listening to Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey, and we can have fun pulling faces to some of the best music recored. Take care and don't trip over your own ego on the way out.
