When Freminet was released, a Theorycrafting channel that I follow actually did an analysis on him, and his conclusion was that he has very good performance for a 4* dps, and can even outdps Eula in some scenarios. Huge respect to that guy.

I’m not the only one with this opinion, but I think the 1.0 4 stars like Bennett,Xingqiu,Xiangling,and Fischl are too good. Because of how broken they are, people have their standards unreasonably high to the point that units like Freminet, Lynette, and Kaveh are considered “bad” or “not as good” even though they are perfectly fine units that fill the role they’re meant to.
Exactly, finally someone said it!!! Some creators are really like "oh this new character is not as absurdly broken as bennett? then they're bad"
its about investing time to the character. If they aint the best, then why spend the time gathering shit for them?
Wouldnt you rather have new really good 4 stars almost as good as Bennett and such instead of niche 4 stars? It would certainly give much much more variety to the meta

Also just to say it. Xingqiu, Bennett, Fischl, Xiangling, Sucrose, will always be better than everyone else because everyone and their parents, grandparents, pets, friends, neighbors, partners, boss, coworkers, and god, knows that it’s not fair to compare them, they are literally 5stars.
There’s no reason for people to ever lower their standards, especially because of how much money people pay for these characters, I respect your opinion sure BUT Hoyo isn’t known for being respectful of players time and money, so the reason why people have such high standards is because a lot of people want to get the most out of what they are paying for…
if your a whale you want the most of these over priced characters and if your F2P you don’t have the pulls for everyone so no one wants to give weaker characters a chance until they have all the good characters first and it’s just smart to do that. If Hoyo played fair, the players would probably play everyone.. a lot of people find it very fun being broken op and seeing how much damage they can get.
Power sells and weak characters don’t pay Hoyos bills.
The top5 4stars should be the standard not the exception, if I had things my way I’d probably buff all 4 stars up to what they should have been from the start… yes even Amber.
I play Dehya, Candace, Dori, Amber, Aloy, Collei, Xinyan, they just like every other weak character literally have one problem and just one… they don’t do good enough damage to justify playing them over the better units, that’s it, and units like Heizou, Thoma, Mika, Ningguang, Noelle, Faruzan, Gorou, Sara, Yun Jin, are characters people would play if they weren’t so high investment. No wants to get 3 copies of the 5star just to C6 the 4star on a banner,
people should play more characters I feel but it feels bad when max a character and really build them all the way just to have a level 60 bloom them out damage them,
Shinobu, Nahida, Yelan, will just be better than any random character you build because that’s the point so why would I pull for a C6 4star when C2 Raiden is just an easy W.

If it helps I have been using him in a xingqiu, yae, mika team. I also lost to eula's claymore while going for hunters path and he's been the most fun claymore user besides navia I've been using.

(As an AR60 Kaeya main after three years I can totally relate on the bias that 4stars aren’t really worth using unless it’s Bennett, Xiangling or Xingqiu.
Had to comment again since right after watching this I got one random standard banner wish from the battlepass. And from all the possibilities I got my very first Freminet 😊 So happy.

As a Freminet main, thank you for taking up arms. He deserves the world, but he would never ask us for it.
I liked Fremi as a story character upon meeting him, but I was hooked as soon as I tried his gameplay out. I was incredibly lucky to get him with the primos I had saved up (free2pain) and immediately geared him with whatever pieces I had available and had way too much fun smacking stuff across the playing field with sacrificial great sword (yes, not the best, but near constant E uptime really helped me get a feel for his kit and attack patterns). I'm still currently building him and am so glad to see more players maining characters that the meta would look down on. We need more variety!
From an AR60 Abyss12-3 Heal Benny/Anemo Sucrose main without a single 5* maxed - Play who you like, build them to the teeth, and don't forget that Genshin is very much a sandbox when it comes to "effective" playstyle.

I've been a xinyan/physical character main since the start of the game, i was gonna level freminet no matter what once i heard he was physical dmg dealer. Oh my god, his NUMBERS??!? I've had eula since her first banner and no phys claymore feel as badass as freminet (except xinyan to me, but she is super high investment). I use xinyan as a shield/sub-dps/support for him w a flex hydro/cryo slot and shinobu. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a character like him 😭 thx for making this vid i love seeing people care about freminet for either story or gameplay. He's great!

As a fellow AR59 player and someone who loves Freminet a LOT it makes me really happy to see someone talking positively about him, it broke my heart when everyone was saying he was a bad unit. However, I also have a few two cents I'd like to add:
- First, I think a character should be tested both at level 80 and 90, because there's some characters who have a lot of damage difference from 80 to 90 (take Fischl for example) and some who almost don't have at all (like Diona). Because of this, I wouldn't say 90 is the minimun, 80 is. It would be cool if the content creators had put him at least in 80, and then made another video showcasing him at 90 so we could see the difference.
- Second, I believe the talents for testing should be 9-9-9 or 8-8-8, double crowning only for the sake of testing is a bit too much because crowns are the rarest item in the game, let alone for new players.
Aside from that, I agree with pretty much everything you've said! So glad someone understands the value of Freminet and Mika!

As an F2P kaeya main who just started playing recently and whose favourite characters aren't exactly meta (kaveh, Heizou, candace and xinyan) I get it. There were some streamers openly telling people to delete or abandon their account just because they don't have meta character. Sheesh! It was fun seeing you build and max out Freminet .
Thank you for making this, I loved Freminet the moment I saw his art and character in the story quest. I don't care if he's not a Eula I just want to build him as strong as I can manage. If he can clear an abyss floor I'm happy
I built freminet and since I’m a new player, he is my best main DPS right now. I got lucky in the Pale Flame domain and got pretty good artifacts and use a good claymore on him. He hits hard and if you use him right, he’s great! Especially as a Four star DPS! I’m definitely waiting for chance to get more constellations and to eventually crown his talents when i can. He’s good! You just have to invest in him.
I got Freminet to 80, gave him Wolf's Gravestone, and despite that fact that he understandably did very little damage with no artifacts, hes a lot of fun and im thinking about maining him when i can fix my Rational team, ive already gotten 1 or 2 decent pale flame pieces

Jokes aside, yeah I agree with you, as a Xinyan/Klee main who also plays Freminet it's sad to see this community so focused on Meta when it only matters for like one day every 2 weeks when Abyss resets, and even then you can still clear it with non-meta unit with the right investments and strategies.

i respect the ones that uses Fremi. as for me tho, if i have to put the best gears i have and have to master the skills (like i have to maxed the unit out) then that unit is not really worth for me (cause yeah i have skill issue and im lazy to farm mats).
but i do love seeing people using them.

Freminet is an angel and I've been really tempted to build him after I got his C6 recently. Unfortunately, Mika is somehow the only 4 star I don't have!

if you want to keep using him, i recommend sticking to snow-tombed starsilver or skyward pride for now. if you still main him when SoBP gets a rerun, then yes i think it is worth it! thanks for watching!
I've also found Tidal Shadow to be decent on him. I have it r2 and the attack buff is really nice

Freminet is a very fun character, I love his playstyle. Haven't used him in abyss, but against bosses and domains he does damage comparable to some of my abyss teams
i dont know why but this is one of my fav videos, i have freminet and plan to level him up (after many other characters haha). idk maybe its comforting seeing a character thats repetedly called bad being avenged lol, feels like justice (idk lol), as a collei main who has many more plans with other underappriciated characters.
also another thing - the people who main underappriciated characters have to be the nicest ive seen lol. amber mains love amber so much and its so cool seeing their amber shred everything easily, i hope i can get there with my collei
Ah, Freminet and Mika, two of the characters I really want, and of course, two of the only 4-stars I don't have. Great video btw, and I relate to what you've said a lot. As an AR 60 1.2 player, variety /IS/ important! I've started playing way more varied teams and character comps because my main ones were getting a little boring. For example, even though people trash on her a lot, I find Aloy fun to play, even more so than some of my "meta" DPS characters! People also need to understand that abyss and meta are not everything; the most important thing in any game is to have fun!
while i appreciate the help in how to make my boy as powerful as he can be, i wish we didn't put down other characters to make our points. I have yet to find a single character who isn't fun to use once figured out, and can't make a valued asset to their team - hell, the only one i haven't figured out how to solo so far is electro traveller, who's still one of my FAVORITE supports. my c6 underbuilt bennett has become a crucial member of the "kill the seahorse in 15 seconds" team, and Aloy continues to be one of my most useful units.
i dunno, it just rubs me the wrong way when we have to put down characters we don't get as much use out of.
Freminet main from Asian since his release, the amount of big pp damage I've racked with him is unholly. Mika, Furina and Baizhu are my oppenheimer freeze bloom damage.
I'm actually so happy I found this video! I love Freminet and I'm counting the day before I get my free freminet from the event! I'm prefarming and I'm sure happy at the idea of building him right!
I did some researchers on RUclips to build him properly and the amount of people complaining or making fun of him were too many. It made me so sad to see people judging a character if they can't 36 abyss in 20 seconds, they often forget that this game is not just about that. Anyway I'm so happy I found your channel, freminet mains are rare but the best! Can't wait to be one of you guys!
I really enjoy freminet gameplay. Havent fully built him yet but its fun to mix and match freeze, fridge, superconduct, etc. His animations are neat. The little teleport and baseball hit with his penguin. Thanks for the video. New sub.
I do agree with your points. Some of the "CC" 's in the community are borderline pretentious and think they know what they are talking but they are just inferring from other CC's opinion and never bother to test characters. I despise fucking tier lists and RUclips Shorts unless that creator has proven themselves to TC, show numbers or show gameplay before babbling their useless opinion. My right hand rule is unless the CC shows tangible data like numbers, gameplay showcase etc., they are basically feels crafting at that point and feels crafting goes bad when players who don't understand the game eat the shit information out as truth and as a result ruin their gameplay or make them commit bad decisions on their account.
Im honestly not too interested in freminet as a character but his kit seems really fun! Like seriously 1 second skill cooldown on cryo freminet when you have your burst up? Hell yeah.

I am a proud freminet main, it makes me really mad on how many people hate him. You just have to build him correctly, he is one of the few characters that can switch from a cryo dps to a physical dps, so you got options. Why do people hate him?
For someone who loves Freminet and uses his bell, he’s one of my strongest characters and I enjoy playing him though I still need to level him a bit more, I personally enjoy this video and think some people might need to hear this, you can’t just say a characters bad and not try to use them, so thank you for being more informational than others!

Treat Freminet as you treat Eula. Cryo dmg + physical dmg with high crit rate and dmg. Pair them with hydro- applier units (mona, kok, barbie). Both Eula and Freminet have huge advantage of shatter dmg, use it wisely.
I wouldn't say I'm a Freminet main, Lyney fits that bill more but I am a devoted House of the Hearth fan-- working on triple crowning our cryo boy right now and he's really not underwhelming at all, especially with Mika he is a solid shatter dps. He might not be anything crazy or groundbreaking but someone cooked on his playstyle and kit in mihoyo and I feel in the future once we get more dedicated phys supports he will truly shine.
I am also a very proud Freminet main, and I fully agree with your statements. Mika and Freminet are SO good together like my god 😂 and add Kuki into the mix and I feel like god sometimes. Though, I am at a slightly Lower level (I’m AR 45) and I really am SUPER DUPER astonished at his damage! I’ve gotten to like, 1000 damage at most with any character and that was with him 😂, love this video! Amazing statements, thank you for standing up for the precious yet deadly boy :)
I love Freminet! I have him C5 but becausr I have Neuvillete and Navia, I build them first and forgot about him. I want to definitely build him and turn him into the star he is.
Yep, the Zyox of Freminet has been born. I mean dude, I don't find him fun, I prefer Heizou (Who I didn't need to crown or get to level 90 to have good dmg), in a game really focused on reactions I feel physical is the true cringe, even mono geo sounds more fun (Even though it's more expensive than just physical). Anyhow, I agree that most content creators just repear whatever the chinese community say, then less popular youtubers say the same as the big content creators, and so on and so forth.

As a Qiqi DPS Main I couldn’t agree more. (Well idk about the full extent of crowns/invesment just for show off, but do agree lv20 or not even accounting how much investment dose is bogus)
I wish I could have more Mika cons, but he’s still fun to play. Hitting things real fast is so much fun and it’s just a skill not the burst.

People really show their bias when proclaiming dehya being good vs other new or old characters like fremenet. Yeah her design and character character is cool even some of the best but dosnt change her self sabatoging kit + low numbers. This is in contrast to other characters they don’t look into their character or even look at their potential in numbers and just say trash, not worth or other things. Make me sad. (Btw no hate on dehya mains/enjoyers she’s cool and deserved so much better but…. Yeaaaaahhhhh…..)
I love Dehya and main her but she's a 4 star.
I use Freminet with the Bell because it's his "canon" weapon he uses and I get ver decent numbers still with him. He's Fun to play and I never felt pressured by any meta to not play him. I love the frosty penguin boi and yeeting Pers at Mach 2 at enemies

I completely agree with you. Most people don’t even actually try to play him and then call freminet a bad character.
YOU WERE SO REAL FOR CALLING OUT PPL WHO TERM A CHARACTER AS "BAD" JUST CUZ THEY DON'T ENJOY THE PLAYSTYLE.
I'm a Venti main, and i really dislike ppl comparing him to Kazuha. I use bow dps based on charged attacks like Lyney, Ganyu, Sethos, so for me, Kazuha just can't do what Venti can.
I'm building Kirara rn to get her echo, but after I'm done I plan to build Freminet and Ga Ming, and Heizou and Lynette if I can. These new 4 stars, including Sethos are just SO GOOD. We really undermine them a lot.

I was a newbie when I got Freminet and something that I did as a joke encouraged me to build him…
I pitted him in a team of all level 1 C0 Characters (him, Xinyan, Bennett, and Fischil) against level 30+ slimes in Cloudretainer’s quest AND THEY MADE IT FUTHER THAN MY BUILT TEAM AT THE TIME!! Freminet was my main dps of that group… now I main him and Chongyun

As an Freminet enjoyer, I recommend you should try this team man;
Fremine, Lisa, Yelan, Bennett
Yelan & Fremine on typical build. Lisa (A4 passive 15% enemy DEF shred) on TTDS with 4p Noblesse Oblige, and Bennett with the new 4p healing set or Mika with that set will work to ig (I need to build mika).
I'm using Beccon on him. It does helps a lot with his CR, plus 40% ATK 🗿🔥
It is such a relief to get to know this about Freminet. I m currently AR25 and apart from freminet i don’t have any other good dps character let alone a 5 star. And i’d been, for sometimes now, fretting over the thought that weather i should lvl up him or not. And now i m going to main him also i really liked his play style his character design and everything.. so yeah, i m grateful that watched ur vid.

i love this video. so persuasive and confident, never thought something would make me switch mains after 2 years of maining amber. i saw this video when it released and was convinced since, rewatched 2 months ago and decided i was going to finally build him, next week im going to triple crown him.

i was a fremi main while waiting for navia's banner, and it was SOOO fun playing him. even after i got navia, i still use him because he's a great unit considering he's a four star. i used him with mona, fischl, and layla and he hits like 22k-25k every hit at lvl 80 with no 4pc pale flame and prototype archaic! personally, i find him even more fun than eula and possibly even better as his multipliers with his cryo dmg and his phys dmg is pretty similar, so you can use him as a cryo or a phys unit (ofc hes better made for phys dmg, but playing melt with him is great too).
I immediately fell in love with Freminet. I got him from the standard banner not too long ago and his playstyle is so much fun! I’m currently building him and will build a whole team around him too, preferably with rosaria as sub dps bc I absolutely adore her too. I’m currently torn between reverse melt or freeze/superconduct.
IMO, the 4 star characters are most often the most fun to play - at least for me. But then again, I don’t care one bit about meta.

I've been building Freminet and his siblings since their release and just doing a team comp with them and Furina and Freminet is just so good without proper supports. I love him so much lol
I FINALLY got the last con of freminet i needed thanks to the house of the hearth banner run.
I've had hik at c4 for a long time and didnt get c5 till a random pull on standard before hand.
At one point i pulled hunters path and told myself "dont know what i wanted to lose my 50/50 to if i did." Lost it to eula's claymore. Still got HP but man that claymore is a blessing.~
A team i actively use when i'm mining ore is an 80/80 c6r1 freminet, a c6 xingqiu, c3r1 yae, c6 with crowned E and enfulled lightning mika.~ a ton of fun imo. And despite not being fully built and sitting in god awful artifacts of pale flame [a cryo piece being my best right now] he's hitting 59k or so on the penguin toss with noblesse boost from xingqiu.
Is ir high? Nah. Can it be? Fk yeah! I just need to farm and i dun wanna atm Pfft
On the topic of characters being overlooked and underused, from personal experience - I started having fun again in Genshin when I stopped caring about "meta" and the abyss, stopped molding trying to get 0.001% perfect artifact RNG and started experimenting with characters i had no interest in prior - Candace, Dehya, Dori, Layla, Thoma, Sayu... Some wonderful and horrible teams have come out of it, but it's been an adventure :D
OMG as a freminet main myself that double crowned him the second i got him, i can relate that he is really underrated, and yes whenever i play him in coop they always say that my damage is broken even tho i only gave him tidal shadow

I was heartbroken when I heard how much hate mika got. I played him, I built him. Both physical and healer build. I also built freminet. Neither of them were bad. But yes I tried and was not satisfied with the damage. Now I realized not everything must be a 60k per hit. Ik I'm not building them right but since I was focusing on many things at once plus less game time I gave up. Now after looking back, I don't want to give up again. I'm actually glad that people also suffered trying to get high crit w physical characters because I thought I was the only one who struggled so bad. My build wasn't the best, but I want to try and manifest on them both once more. Thank you for the inspiration, I'll try my best to become a freminet main once more! Esp since I finally have a hydro applicator that I like for shatter, which is furina! Idk if they're good together but idc, I love them all equally and will always do. Meta won't stop me from playing the game the way that I prefer!
Edit: I forgot to say but I actually played since 1.0 and don't understand why people kept on telling me to build bennett, xingqiu, xiangling. I HATE them so bad. I dislike them, and never want to build them. So when you said "using bennett overworld is cringe" BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I FELT. I'm trying so hard to 39 abyss but forcing myself to build the op trio now because of how desperate I was. Atp I had enough of abyss. I just need the primos.
Freminet is not only a good physical dps he's an amazing cryo dps too
i dont main Freminet but i have him at lvl80 R2 Skyward pride just because i found his kit so fun to play. Even without shatter, his damage didnt seem all that bad to me, heck, even at his current incomplete build, he can already knock out enemies in a few hits in the overworld... He's really satisfying to use, his idles are mostly quiet too
4:10 and he made Furina excellent with Freminet. Furina's hydro application is enough to freeze as Freminet causes shatter
basically summing it up: if you love a character, just build them correctly, give them everything, it'll work out fine. Don't need to listen to tcs because tcs tends to love min maxing everything. At the end of the day, meta is temporary and everchanging, but your favs will remain your favs even if you do change mains, they'll still have a place in your heart.

Respect for Freminet mains!!! As your distant cousin (Eula main here), it pisses me off whenever people shit on physical dps as if spiral abyss is the only content in the game. I enjoy playing meta and team building, but I hate when they bring these discussions outside of spiral abyss
finally someone said that abyss is not all.
i mean i get that most content creators are gacha veterans and most gacha content are boring story stages, specifically like levels and then the endgame
but genshin is an open world game anyway
aside of that, content creators way too much depend on bennet. i get why, the reason is "high numbers" but still... plus even in abyss bennet is an annoying character to work around, overworld is even worse. (i also this character was supposed to be a niche unit for boosting pyro characters just he was made too early...)

I am a Freminet main since day 1. I was an Eula main so I already had her weapon and Mika (only c3 though), so everything was ready for him. I enjoy Freminet's gameplay way more.
Sure, he's not the best character in the game, he doesn't get the highest numbers, but he is viable, I think all genshin characters are when they are well built. And the most important thing, he is FUN to play.
I love Freminet so much, this video is straight facts. I have him maxed out and he's so much fun to play! He does crazy damage for not having perfect artifacts.
same happened with yae miko even tho shes a 5star. i still pulled for her regardless and now all of a sudden everyones praising her for being an insane unit, having good damage and suddendly having to place 3 turrets on the field doesnt seem that much of a drag anymore. there are few other thing players took for granted like the burst cost but, what im trying to say is unless a character shakes the meta in some way, there are automatically "bad" because some other unit might do it better. i dont give a damn if fischl is better im still going to use yae.

I just unlocked Freminet from the Arleccino banner and i got him at c1. I very quickly realized how much fun and how good he is. All of the big youtubers always rate him very low. But i think that they are very wrong.
This was always my argument when people test characters at such low investment. It's like, why? Why would you test a character with lvl 6 talents and level 80? To see how a character truly performs you need to invest. I agree with what you said about Mika as well. I've been using mika since I first c6'd double crowned him on his FIRST release, and all I saw was that he's trash but that couldn't be more wrong. Shit look at him now, Mika's comin back due. I agree on the open world as well. Freminet actually shocked me even though I only have him at c0. He's really strong! Great video!
Watching this as I’m currently farming leveling up materials for freminet and i think I agree with your roasting lol!
The moment i tried him I thought of how fun his play style was but kept convincing myself that I don’t need to level him up, and I didn’t surrender to my temptation until 4.2 at last..
and for more coincidence, my mika just got leveled up for wriothesely but now he’ll be paired with freminet too!! I have other random reasons for wanting to play with him like having skyward pride, so many good physical goblets, his voice line effecting when he activate his elemental burst to match with his diving stance, or even for lore purposes like (4.1 SPOILER) how he risked his life to search for childe’s whereabout🧍♀️ but yeah overall i really can see how people easily sleep on a character if it’s not nahida/ bennet level but instead it stands on its own, they don’t even give him a chance and that’s pretty disappointing.
Can’t wait to explore the map with freminet and have fun with him!!
I am a physical Qiqi main, and the LOVE I have for her is enough for me. Sure, she doesn't do big pp damage (tho she does a lot of fast damage), but she is cool and it's the reason i play genshin, because i like her kit and how fast she hits opponents, I've learned all the tricks on how to do dragonstrike with her and i have fun. In the moment I watched Freminet I loved him, his kit is so fun and so well made. I'm used to the fast NA of Qiqi and that frustrates me when I use Freminet, but what about it? I just need to actually invest in learning how to build and play him. Like, he is so fun, and so relatable, and his animations are cool too. You can even put EM on him because shatter escales with EM with the same multipliers of hyperbloom. Also, hes attacks are pretty and idk about the other but shiny stuff makes me happy.
I don't really know what i was trying to say with this, but yeah, Freminet is cool and physical too (you can even use him with Bennett in a melt team, or as a fridge driver, good lord).

casual threats aside fremi is stupidly underappreciated even now, and once i'm done (finally) building XQ I'm going to farm for actually good pale flame artifacts for him. rn he's running a somewhat copium 2pc/2pc and he _still_ slaps. plus our adorable lil diver boy just deserves the world

Tbh, as a wanderer main, i do enjoy fast attack speed. But like, I started playing back in 2.8 (technically 1.5 but lost my acc and the ability to play for a bit.) And physical + the shatter reaction have always been one of my favorite things.
So much so that i ran a physical chongyun for literally ever. The fact freminet is exactly what i wouldve wanted early game makes me so happy and even if i main wanderer im still heavy on building freminet. I do wish i couldve gotten more of his cons tho.
Edit: also, i c6'ed my bennett on purpose. Im not gonna be using him for physical teams. I specifically went half insane trying to get mika because i wanted to c6 bennett but i love physical.
Thanks for the video, i think theres a huge problem with genshin content creators, a lot of them seem to not actually play the game, they say so much bullshit, they dont understand simple mechanics and spread misinformation all around, especially about 4 stars.
