I'm Brazilian, and i decided to learn english by myself , so I started to watch videos on you tube for the last two weeks. Believe me , a can understand so many things are saying. I dont's studying grammar, and I using the corrector of my phone ( so I think it's hard to understand what I writing 😅) , but I trying to learn in a natural way. I will start read books in English to be able with spelling and grammar. I felt happy for see this channel. It's will help me to improve my English 😊. Feel free to correct me!
My acquired languages are Bengali (my mother tongue) and Hindi (which generally serves as the link language amongst Indians from different parts of India).Since my Father was in service in different parts of Indian,where the regional languages different I was put in English medium schools to maintain continuity of my school education. In college I studied bio science where lectures were generally delivered in English. I worked as a medical representative (medical detailer)in a pharmaceutical company where most of the communication with doctors was done in English. So I developed good communication skills in English. I can speak a little bit of German - studied for two years in Goete Institute at Max Mueller Bhawan in Kolkatar, India .Now I am retired ,age 75,trying to learn to speak Russian 19:03 from the internet but find difficulty in pronouncing words.Your suggestions please . By the way I use to study in a residential school in South India where one of my room mates was Polish.The interesting part of this matter is that we use to communicate with each other in Hindi and English, neithers mother tongue.My Good Wishes to you .

I agree with you. If you want to kill all the interest and all the fun of learning a language, start studying grammar, boring textbooks and taking a bottom-up approach to language learning. And dont forget to concentrate on what you cant do or dont know. In this way you are sure to give up learning.
