So Barney still has several chapters before he escapes and Shephard hasn't even woken up yet. With more than 24 hours until the nuke goes off on Day 3. I make you believe that Gina was killed and Colette has now severe PTSD and trauma and g man doesn't want to release colette cuz the second she's out of statis like Sheppard has she would just end herself 😊
2:40 Allow me to explain. Gina, Colette, Keller and Rosenberg have to start up the machine to send a signal to the rocket Freeman launches, to stabilize and/or close the breach. Decay was a rushed expansion, and there were several cut missions, that's why it ends abruptly and some things aren't explained. Originally you were to go to the archives to get some security codes (the all clear codes) to lift the lockdown in the facility's equipment that the military made, and then upload it at the airfield, so gordon could launch the rocket (and if you want to canonize it, the HL demo Uplink where gordon moves the transmitter dome for the signal happens for this too). With the all clear codes, the dome aligned, the rocket launched, the machine at the end of decay somehow involved... ends all up in the breach stabilizing, but it does not close it as it was supposed to happen. So in cut dialogues it is said that something else is holding the breach open by force from the other side, and thats when they send Gordon to Lambda labs to fight nihilanth. According to easter eggs, if you want to canonize gearbox, Gina and Colette may be the first ones to venture into Xen to stop nihilanth but fail to do so. Thats why when entering Xen, nihilanth says "comes another". And thats how you find in Opposing Force, dead Gina drowned in a flooded xen cave without a way out.
I wonder if Gina Cross was chosen to be dead because she's more recognisable aka more sad to see her die or because they wanted Collete Green alive because she as a character has more potential. Gina Cross just feels too similar to Gordon, stoic badass, while Colette is this Father Grigori like character that HL1 didn't have until HL2. Really hope one day we see Collette avenge her comrades, Gina included 😢 4:00 Holy sht, this makes it even more awesome, from storytelling perspective of course, Collette could legitimately become her own character with her own character arc if Valve allows it, COME ON GABE, WE N E E D THIS SPIN OFF 😢. It would be so nice to see Collette finally move on from Gina's death and avenge her by going ham on aliens/Combine
I disagree about Colette and Gina not contributing much (or at all) to the greater story. They contributed ALOT. You just haven't realized it. Remember in EP2 when it was said that the Resistance is sending a rocket to outer space so that they may "tap" into the relay at Black Mesa to close the superportal? Yeah, that "relay" was the same rocket Freeman launched in HL1. Without Gina and Colette allowing Freeman to launch the rocket (via the Black Mesa Air Control), that relay wouldn't have been in Space and the Resistance would have had no way of stopping the Combine's reinforcements (through the superportal) which would be the end of humanity. So in an INDIRECT way... you could say that Gina and Colette unironically did MORE for humanity than BOTH Calhoun and Shephard combined. On the contrary, I'd say that (knowing what happens in HL2), Blue Shift and Opposing Force are the ones that are unnecessary to the overall Half-Life story NOT Decay. I mean, really... what exactly did Calhoun accomplish besides escaping with some folks? He didn't do much for humanity. He just ran away with a few scientists. And Shephard? He was pointless. Even if Shephard failed to stop Race X (if he had died by their hands earlier on with his comrades) the outcome would still be the same. That being Race X fails to take over Earth because either: a)They get blown up to smithereens by the nuke as soon as they make their way through their portal. or b)They get killed and enslaved later by the Combine (during/after the 7 Hour War). So yeah. I think it's unfair that the 2 characters aren't talked about enough considering the fact that they did a HUGE good deed for the rest of humanity in the long run.
technically, with that vort mission, you're playing as the nihilanth, as it's controlling the vorts. which when you think of it that way, is pretty badass.
@@georgeoldsterd8994 those shakles are the slave controllers. that doesnt conflict what i said. also, those do exist in hl2. on the vortigaunt controlled by the combine at the start of the game.
I wanna see the inside of that freezer.....is this like a highlander scenario...you got multiple hero's from different time periods or lines entirely....but tbh they just need to release shepherd and have him with his old kit from black mesa...but have it all be useless against the combine but relics and Inspiration for the humans....make it almost squad combat but mainly make the story about the unknown green man returned to unite the resistance in a more militaristic ways while subtlety dealing with the fact he lost his time in life so now he must fight to make it better or lose it all
I bet the reason we see so few HEV suit weareres and otber more able bodied scientist and well trained personnel is probably because they are far else where to even deeper in the mesa and the rest in Xen i mean did you see how much heat the remaining lambda team had packing?
I would like to see Valve remake this. I remember playing it with a guy I used to be friends with. It would be nice to see an official ending to them. I.e an ending that shows what happens to Colette and the death of Gina
You don't think Colette killed Gina? You said she laughs while killing zombies so maybe she killed gina accidently after the ending of decay? Like she suffered some kind of psychosis?
I was able to play the PC unofficial port of Half-Life : Decay with my girlfriend, and liked all the cross-overs and references that the Gearbox games contain. I refuse to accept Gina is dead on Xen; given that it's the Deathmatch model that's used, I choose to interpret that as meaning 'generic hazard-suited female' rather than Gina specifically. Pitchford can eat my vertices. Colette seems cooler, though. As you said, there's something about Colette that is akin to Father Grigori; both named and voiced characters, who can move and shoot through the world, and survive, without being as fully involved as the main player-characters. There is something slightly Ripley about Colette, without being a ripoff. It just bewilders me that Gearbox chose to make Colette a walking Stroop Effect, by naming her GREEN while coloring her hazard suit RED. Tsk. Nerds.

I wonder who that may (or may not) be
7/10 needs more synonyms for grease when Randy Greaseford is brought up.
GINA is ALIVE OKAY COLETTE IS FINE THEYRE BOTH ALIVE AND THEYRE MARRIED AND PART OF THE RESISTANCE PLEASE I REFUSE TO BELIEVE ANYTHING BAD HAPPENED TO THEM YOURE MAKING ME CRY
I make you believe that Gina was killed and Colette has now severe PTSD and trauma and g man doesn't want to release colette cuz the second she's out of statis like Sheppard has she would just end herself 😊
Colette was always a favourite of mine because of..

Allow me to explain.
Really hope one day we see Collette avenge her comrades, Gina included 😢
4:00 Holy sht, this makes it even more awesome, from storytelling perspective of course, Collette could legitimately become her own character with her own character arc if Valve allows it, COME ON GABE, WE N E E D THIS SPIN OFF 😢.
That being Race X fails to take over Earth because either:
a)They get blown up to smithereens by the nuke as soon as they make their way through their portal.
or
b)They get killed and enslaved later by the Combine (during/after the 7 Hour War).
So yeah. I think it's unfair that the 2 characters aren't talked about enough considering the fact that they did a HUGE good deed for the rest of humanity in the long run.
imagine if a half life 3 ever gets released we meet colette green in the borealis. and she gets her own expansion of getting to the borealis
technically, with that vort mission, you're playing as the nihilanth, as it's controlling the vorts. which when you think of it that way, is pretty badass.
But then, what were those glowing green shackles that the vorts wore in HL1? They don't seem to wear them in HL2 or it's sequels/ spinoff.
@@georgeoldsterd8994 those shakles are the slave controllers. that doesnt conflict what i said. also, those do exist in hl2. on the vortigaunt controlled by the combine at the start of the game.
6:04 Bro who invited those two? *Bluds think they're on the team* 💀
R.I.P, Gina, she died (and we don’t know how)
what do you think of the theory that Colette is the unknown woman talking to a Combine Advisor in Half Life Alyx?
Some people theorizes that, because she knew about the Black Mesa incident and seems to know about Gordon
"me and purplecolonel are making videos on each character"
kinda like decay
without one of them dying though
I sense sarcasm coming from Randy, doubt Gman pick her up like Adrian. No evidence but Randy joking tweet.
The only Half Life game i have yet to play
I thought there was speculation that a character in half life alyx might be Colette or Gina?
One of the writer Eric Wolpaw says that he knew who she is but will remain silent
I just want to buy Half-life on the PS2 just to play this.
Just play it on pc with the mod
@@CourierSiix I already found out that someone made a port of it for Sven Co-op.
@@gordon_freeman2542 ew dont play it on sven co-op, play it on the original half life!
Well damn. Colette gonna be needing some R&R after she gets out of the freezer.
Well, now someone’s working on a single player campaign mod for the game. And one of the women is cut.
I have no doubts that the mysterious scientist in HL Alyx is her
I ❤ Colette. 🙂
I wanna see the inside of that freezer.....is this like a highlander scenario...you got multiple hero's from different time periods or lines entirely....but tbh they just need to release shepherd and have him with his old kit from black mesa...but have it all be useless against the combine but relics and Inspiration for the humans....make it almost squad combat but mainly make the story about the unknown green man returned to unite the resistance in a more militaristic ways while subtlety dealing with the fact he lost his time in life so now he must fight to make it better or lose it all
Good video man!
Finally Someone talked about Colette green
Fun Fact: Collette Green and Gina Cross both have the same first letters in their names.
(C)ollette (G)reen
(G)ina (C)ross
Did not expect to see Lani Manella here, lady gets around.
When the Gordon is sus
I wonder why Valve didn’t put decay on Steam
because you can't run it on PC in its original form.
@@mfaizsyahmi I’m sure Gearbox said they had a PC port ready to go, but Valve decided against it.
Collette Green's corpse is scene in Blue Shift...
I bet the reason we see so few HEV suit weareres and otber more able bodied scientist and well trained personnel is probably because they are far else where to even deeper in the mesa and the rest in Xen i mean did you see how much heat the remaining lambda team had packing?
I thought Colette was from Hunt Down The Freeman lol
bruh
bruh

What the fuck
Are you serious?!
hey you sound like examined life of gaming. Great vid btw
I wish she returns in HL3, if it'll ever be made
I would like to see Valve remake this. I remember playing it with a guy I used to be friends with. It would be nice to see an official ending to them. I.e an ending that shows what happens to Colette and the death of Gina
colette and possibly gina needs to comeback in a future installment. maybe in some crazy shit like a stasis machine or something
Can't wait for the new game that Valve is going to make.
garry mode in real life or fake life.
happy decay day
I swear if this video isn’t about mossman, the streets will riot.
Time to riot
Bless you
You don't think Colette killed Gina? You said she laughs while killing zombies so maybe she killed gina accidently after the ending of decay? Like she suffered some kind of psychosis?
colette has always been the hotter one of the two
True
That's why I always liked her best. 😂
Also because Gina's hologram annoyed me. 😐
time to visit the holy green site
Tsk. Nerds.
Colette is so fine
I like to think that collette is playing 21 and up with shephard
Ahh yes Gina and Colette
This should have been on pc to begin with.
Decay really needs a sequel...
Ah yes, Colette from Half-Life 1, the superior game.
I heard about this half life decay mod and my first impression was that both of those women got turned into 2 alien creatures
Yes.
Awesome, nice video
My Headcanon is that X-8973 and XR-4913 are the two other Vortigaunts that help keep Alyx stable in Episode 2
Decay looks nice on PS2 and then on PC thanks to modders.
