my only issue with astrology is when people use it to excuse their poor behaviour and judge people based on their signs. i like astrology, i think it's cool. but really, shit's gotta stop at a certain point. edit: i've worded out my comment wrongly. no, i don't have an issue with astrology but i have an issue WITH people misusing astrology by judging people solely based on that. and it's cool if you believe in it. i don't and i won't ever. which is also fine. just respect each other down there.
@Angel Frost The thing is that how you're educated is a big factor in one's behavior and attitude. But astrology is not about that. Astrology is not predicting either. Yes, people predict by using astrology. And yes, sometimes it's not accurate, because online horoscopes are general info graphics, that are supposed to give you a bigger picture. But there is so much more to each of our astrological charts, not just our sun sign. And astrology is a way of sensing someone's character and temper. Not behavior or attitude. Not the same thing. And people who excuse themselves through their archetype are just not conscious of what it all really means. And that's the result of not looking closer and researching. I use astrology to understand myself and others, so that I can empower people. And I use it to take a better approach on improving myself. Because astrology doesn't just give me a trait or a flaw, it tells me why I have that and how I naturally perceive it. The moment I realize how I work, I can change. And that's what people aren't told in horoscopes.

I feel like the whole point of learning about astrology is that you do some introspection. You learn about yourself. Learn about why certain things make you feel a certain way. Why you can’t really vibe with some people. You learn about your good and bad qualities. Realizing what you’re undeveloped qualities and bettering yourself.
What I hate the most about astrology is people putting you in a box effortlessly, then never change their mind or simply can't accept that they're wrong.
Astrology is complex. It’s not meant to put you in a box. Only folks that have a shallow understanding would put you in box. Though we all exhibit patterns of behavior, and self-expression. The zodiac signs are based on geometric points to showcase potentials over time. Also, you have an entire natal chart too. Which uses spherical geometry, spherical trigonometry, and projective geometry. Idk. I feel many people are misunderstanding it. Astrology is not science. But it’s surprisingly mathematical. It seems people focus on the symbol. Like a Gemini. Without knowing the real definition behind a Gemini. Leading to stereotypes.

Confirmation bias is about is finding proof of your own ideas/beliefs. I could argue that same bias against you. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
Some people do judge others, but I for one have learned to understand people better from the beginning. I'm not assuming I know them, like how their childhood was or what they usually eat for dinner. I get a sense of their character and temperament. And I can decide for myself, after I get to know them a little better, if I want to keep in touch or distance myself. Most of the time it has nothing to do with who they are, it's about who I am. And I believe that at an unconscious level, we all do that, through judging. Some people just don't have this ability under control.
I understand where you’re coming from. But if it weren’t for those things I wouldn’t have known about my sun sign at a young age. It’s like an advertisement to astrology. At least it shows people what their sun sign is so they have a basic understanding & I’m Sure that the majority of astrologers came across astrology for the first time when They saw their sun sign in a magazine or something. But yes astrology is a lot more complex than just the sun sign & It is a shame that a lot of people think astrology is just that (their sun sign).

The way I see it.. if you think about it on a fundamental level, astrology is just a reflection of the rhythms of the earth and how they influence a developing mind to form its personality. This is especially apparent with the sun sign; the sun influences the seasons, the seasons influence the weather and how we react to our environment, and a small little human brain soaks all those influences up and develops its identity around it. That’s why Scorpio reflects the death cycle of summer into fall. That’s why Taurus reflects the sensual and creative principle of the first true buds of spring. That’s why Capricorn represents the hardship and struggle of the middle of winter. That’s why Leo represents the vibrancy, glow, and heat of summer. Etc... It’s all just rhythms and archetypes. Science is prone to looking down on it because it doesn’t value knowledge that does not fit into its systems. It’s just a different type of knowledge, one just as valid, albeit a bit more fluid.

I like looking into astrology and I find the whole idea kind of fun especially when I actually resonate well with my sign in some aspects. But just like religion, I'd rather not take anything too seriously and your sign or someone else's sign shouldn't limit what you can and cannot do in life. At least that's my personal take.
I came across astrology late in my life and I have to say I was blown away. All the study of my theme was done by myself and I never paid anyone for information. Being of a very introspective nature but also very skeptical, as always I decided to see for myself the veracity or not of this field. I tell you without any hesitation, my birth chart carries with it my personality and my wounds and even my family history. And it really came as a shock to realize that astrology was so much more than a story of fake clairvoyant horoscopes and quack predictions. Even things that didn't make me happy and yet were necessary for me to understand. I'm really sad that people aren't more curious than that, a saying goes that there are two ways of looking at life, the first is that everything is a miracle, the other that nothing ever is . I don't think either of them is really right.
when put to the test, this same information that was given to you also pertains to almost everyone else. try this test. print different horoscopes of your liking of each sign and try to find yours blindly, this test has been done multiple times and it always, always fails

Kind of disappointed you didn't cover natal charts. What made me a believer was looking at my natal chart. Your birth actually consists of several different signs, and depending on which of the 12 houses those are based in, can clearly spell out your personality. It's not just a 1 in 12 thing. It's 1 in millions of different combinations that makes us how we are. There are scientists who believe that we are made out of stars, in a sense. I believe that astrology maybe can't predict stuff like it tries to do in horoscopes (like "you're going to find the love of your life tomorrow") but it definitely affects people's personality and behavior. Astrology has helped me to understand myself better, it made me see things about my personality that I didn't see before, and it's great. It has also helped me understand others, and how I can communicate with them.

Well, an idea of a correlation between birth and your life (like health issues in this case) that may be shared or inspiring does not mean the astrology can tell us how the natural rhythms affect our life, this conclusion is rather incorrect.
Saying astrology has important history is not a valid reason to excuse how fake it is. People saying the Earth was flat presumably contributed to the discovery of the Earth being round, but we don't believe that the Earth is flat because of its history.
True, but sometimes those correlations can lead to finding causes. For instance, there really is a statistically significant percentage of those with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder being born between January-March, and this was discovered back in the 90's. It's only now that it's being looked at again instead of dismissed. There are theories that it could be linked to lack of vitamin D in winter months prior to or just past birth. Or perhaps the increase in flu cases during the winter months could be part of it. Or something else that hasn't been thought of yet. Mental illness is incredibly complicated already, between genetics and environment. But if there are other factors involved, it's good to take a look. I'd rather it be investigated, than dismissed as woo-woo because it might be seen as giving legitimacy to astrology. If it turns out that giving pregnant moms and babies an extra shot of vitamin D would help bring those percentages down, then that's a whole generation of people that got missed because it was summarily dismissed until now.

I can agree with this. The chinese four pillars takes the exact time and date to the minute to determine personality and fate and I’ve seen it be so accurate 85% of the time. My whole family has done it and it is sometimes so specific it really doesnt make sense. Can’t be solved by science just like the meaning of life.

So many innumerable things from the micro to macro require all the pieces to be there in order to function; nothing of what we see would have worked in any way unless it had all been there from the start. It’s not believing in some magical mystical voodoo daddy with no shred of evidence; of course that is stupid. The argument is that the complexity of the world can only be logically ascribed to an intelligent designer. Nothing comes from nothing.

It's called jyotish shastr and the very first text or scripture on astronomy is Surya Siddhanta. Read about it, also I am not a fan of western astrology because people just know the very basics of what it's about and they try it out. People use it nowadays to earn money rather than solve problems which was originally why it was derived. Like I said, read about Indian Vedic Scriptures although it would take you more than one lifetime to go through all of them.

This comment will probably get buried but if anyone is interested, look into vedic astrology. That method reads the sky differently so your sun sign will seem whacky, but it's even more in depth then western astrology. They have divisional charts, dasas, nakshatra, etc, and is a little more scientific then just seeing your chart and houses since they also calculate things about early/later life and time periods within your life.
Western Traditional Astrology draws from the same well but uses the Tropical Zodiac instead of the Sidereal. Remember astrology came to the West via the Silk Road and the Mediterrean, so Vedic Astrology and traditional Western Astrology are brother and sister.

Not the candy astrologies you see on the web all the time. You need to have your horoscope done by a professional using your birthdate, location, and time of birth. Through that, I learned that I have Venus in the second house, this explained why I care so much about making my surroundings and atmosphere beautiful and love to buy things like beautiful antique furnitures, flowers, luxury curtains etc. to make my surroundings beautiful. Venus in the second house also advice a career that involve arts and beauty. This explained why I love to sing and wanted to become a fashion designer and singer. These comes naturally and I know that I will benefit in those fields. I also have Saturn in the eighth house, which states a hard childhood and lifelong struggles. This is very true for me as I had a very tough childhood and I am struggling with things that I could never get rid off or fix, that’s keeping me from happiness. They will probably last a lifetime. It also predict death by violence. John F. Kenny has Saturn in the 8th house. Its a hard life with Saturn in the 8th house. You can have traits of other signs as well depending on your charts and planets during the time of your birth. Astrology can explain why you are how you are and give good advice of what to do with your life.
To anyone that reads this and thinks it's bs: First of all - let them believe it. They aren't hurting anyone (if they don't use it as an excuse), on the contrary, it gives them confidence ("I know I will be good with artsy stuff") and security because they feel understood and feel like they have an explanation (and if they look into astrology that intensely they probably needed that feeling). It may not be fully scientific, but science is there to help people. Why shouldn't psychology/astrology be? Birth charts are not about explaining what that person with that zodiac sign has what other signs don't have! It is about finding the traits that stick out and that are more relevant for that person's life. Astrology is made to give people a start to learn about themselves, not to seperate them from others. Don't take that chance from others just because you don't choose that start yourself, it's as valid as any other way
I hate how so many people judge astrology when they don't know anything about it. edit: I was raised with it and know a lot more than most people (grew spiritual, etc...). I know that Astrology is so much deeper than what people put on social media. It's more than the idealism on social media (It telling you about your love life, etc...). Yes, you could see about your love life but Astrology is for self discovery, self-understanding and to know the shadow part of us and whatever else there is, everyone can use Astrology for whatever they want. It's okay if you don't want to believe planets or comets have any effect on us. I simply dislike how people believe they know everything about Astrology because they know their sun sign... I dislike that people judge it even though they don't know what they are judging. You don't have to like it, just don't judge because it's unknown to you. Another thing that a lot of people don’t understand is that just because u are born in a certain time frame doesn’t mean u will have every trait of that sign. Depending on where the other planets and stars are aligned also impacts fate and traits. Like I was born an Aries but due to where other planets were located I have very little Aries too me. It explains why I have so many Virgo and Sagg traits
I love Astrology. Without Astrology we wouldn't have time we wouldnt know how long the day in night is in winter solstice and summer solstice we wouldn't know when the weather changes I love Astrology its not just about Zodiac signs
psa: you have more than one sign, even then, still look at your houses, what planets are in the houses, what planets are in a certain sign (so you can know what to expect the next couple of months as of your personality), current retrogrades etc. there’s a lot but it’s so interesting how your personality aligns with the planets and how they’re acting

Nah. From my experience, its the sun. I've seen too many go into relationships and click with people based on that, only for them to form a deeper relationship and their incompatible sun signs ruin things.
I'll give an example, my friend is a taurus sun, Leo moon and rising. Say hypothetically, she runs into a triple sagittarius (sun, moon and rising). Based on compatibility, they should be good together if we take your theory into consideration, but i know her well and she might attract that sagittarius, but she is very stubborn, not very receptive to change, won't travel spontaneously, can be selfish when it comes to her comfort, is stingy with her possessions, and has a more materialistic mindset. None of these things are compatible with the sagittarius personality.

I use astrology as a map for people’s personalities coz I don’t know how to properly interact with others without unintentionally offending them. It never failed once haha the only reason why astrology garnered a terrible reputation is coz people only use the sun signs and it put people in small narrow boxes, when in reality there’s a bunch of stuff underneath that. You have a whole chart for you, basics include your rising, sun and moon and that could be any sign so you may be an aries but act like a virgo and feel like a cancer. there’s also the houses, degrees and etc so no one is the exact same. I personally really love it coz I could also learn how people think and perceive themselves but welp, even I couldn’t really tell if it’s all scientific or not as it’s just an empirical data. I’ve always been interested in astrology since I discovered so here I am during quarantine and learned more lol

Because there are people who try to push it as a science (for real). To be scientific you need a whole lot of factors, and Astrology has as much as the Flat Earth in SCIENTIFIC terms (long long story about what science theories, observations and etc. mean). That, however, does not give anyone the right to mock or diminish your beliefs. I think it's a case where the scarce understanding that people generally have of what science means is shown, and the own people who should teach and explain it instead are just rude and arrogant. Also, there's a reason why people wrongly think it's science, and it has to do with their governments bad educational programs (or not good enough) and the scientists theirselves (that don't dialogue enough with society, especially physicists)

I really hate when people assume astrology is only about 12 zodiac signs. "Oh, so you're Sagittarius guy? You should not go with Gemini girl." Then it's no different than MBTI. That's shallow and lazy. I love astronomy, astrology (western and Chinese), and mythology, and read a lot about them. Yes, astrology is still not considered science. But I tried different approach to it : psychology. I think, astrology can be used to read human behaviour, motivation, positive traits, negative traits, etc. Like psychology, its information can be used to better oneself. And like psychology, it needs a lot of observation.
@@vijetatayade6313 It is, if one knows the functions well. There are so many bad MBTI tests around. The tests should've been Ti/Te, Fi/Fe, Si/Se, Ni/Ne, and the stacks. With this, the test can show if there's some kind of imbalance. On the other hand, most MBTI tests are comparing strength of I/E, N/S, T/F, P/J which is very misleading if one does not recognize him/herself.

Yes Astrology has been proven absurd by science, there is now way the orientation of stars at the time of your birth have anything interlinked never mind that they have serious power over every persons personality. Honestly i enjoyed your take on the subject, i like that you included some less known historical information and explained the influence it plays in modern medicine today.. Also I agree it would be something worth looking into I would love to see the outcome. I do think Astrology, like other factors plays a bigger role in our lives, than what we allow ourselves to believe and not for any specific reason. It just seems that there's been several times through out history where we thought we had things all figured out, and years down the road we find out new information that proves us to be completely wrong and throws us back to square 1 or draws us too another conclusion. Just because one idea seems too be the most logical, that doesn't deem it as set in stone. Overall I thought this to be A great video. Nice work.

I'm a science nerd and love astrophysics, it fascinates, interests and scares me at the same time. I can listen to someone explaining anything from theory of relativity to gravitational fields and time warps for hours, but this does not automatically mean that I am not allowed to believe in something that we don't fully understand or can't prove. This universe is full of things, which don't have a rational explanation. Why not open our minds a little bit more and accept a fact that we don't and can't know everything. The question is how much accurate and real is what we know? Science elitists are snobbish and narrow minded, self-righteous fanatics who don't leave a room for doubt. It's easy to hate something we don't understand. This world is NOT just black and white and even science is based on lots of theories. Not believing in something does not mean it might not exist (or vice versa), just like absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
A theory isn't something that some people believe. It's a well-build structure of thinking based on thing that you know you can prove in a scientific way. Just that, I don't agree but I think it's okey and respect all the other thing that you say, just that, don't think that a theory it's equal to some thinking that you can have. i always try to explain this to people, ive been slowly studying astrology more and more over the past 5 years and i don’t necessarily believe in it on a scientific standpoint but i love it so much because as someone who has struggled with social connections and verbalizing what’s going on in my head, it helps to give me a language that has helped me open up and discover myself and lean into who i am.

In my teens, way before l learned about astrology, l was doing a quiz with a friend and he said he wanted to be king of the jungle. I said why? I’d never want that, it’s so pretentious, and cliché, and who has the time? l’d rather swing in a tree or swim down a river. This personality fits my Aries Sun. Years later l started learning about astrology and l learned that that friend had a Virgo Sun. There wasn’t much to note regarding him and his sign. A year on maybe l learned about all the planets in one’s natal chart. And l noticed that friend has LEO Mercury, so he may not BE a Leo, but he THINKS like a Leo, because Mercury is the way you think. So obviously he wants to be king of the jungle. Just like mike Tyson, he’s a Cancer so he’s more emotional, sensitive, round features, round shoulders and pecs, and a youthful energy but LEO MERCURY, he thinks like a lion, he’s dominant. And then there’s Donald Trump with Mercury in Cancer, he thinks and talks like an infant lol.
When I was little, I read up on Scorpio because people around me, without knowing when I was born, kept asking me if I was a Scorpio since I seemed very Scorpionic. I never trusted horoscopes since I found them so vague and nor care about trying to predict things anyways, but I did find an uncanny resemblance with myself and what was described in Scorpio. I later learned what cold reading was and how astrology and especially horoscopes use it to get broad, vague, but somewhat accurate predictions and got diagnosed with autism. Me having little to no interest in people, only ever read Scorpio and did use it to gain a pretty good understanding of myself pretty early on. Once my little interests in people started to give me problems, the ideas sparked through reading Scorpio did give me some language to work off of that did end up serving me quite well. Ideas such as intimacy, layers or protective walls, intensity, and natural "sting" against people I felt no connection to became handy when trying to navigate through the backwardness of social interaction and culture, as well as my natural tendency to be off putted by things others find attracting and vice versa. While I think this astrology stuff is mostly pretentious and non-scientific, I think there is some value in the ideas it raises and language it contains in order to achieve self-discovery and social understanding and navigation, but I never counted on this stuff on its own as I read up basically anything for me to understand the ever ubiquitous and ever backwards social sphere.

Learning astrology gave me better empathy. Not because of how accurate it is but the fact that we should accept everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses and differences in the way that they are born and the life they have experienced.
My grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, "If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately." Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me, "Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your video gave me cancer anyway.

@Angel Frost The thing is that how you're educated is a big factor in one's behavior and attitude. But astrology is not about that. Astrology is not predicting either. Yes, people predict by using astrology. And yes, sometimes it's not accurate, because online horoscopes are general info graphics, that are supposed to give you a bigger picture. But there is so much more to each of our astrological charts, not just our sun sign. And astrology is a way of sensing someone's character and temper. Not behavior or attitude. Not the same thing. And people who excuse themselves through their archetype are just not conscious of what it all really means. And that's the result of not looking closer and researching. I use astrology to understand myself and others, so that I can empower people. And I use it to take a better approach on improving myself. Because astrology doesn't just give me a trait or a flaw, it tells me why I have that and how I naturally perceive it. The moment I realize how I work, I can change. And that's what people aren't told in horoscopes.

Astrology is complex. It’s not meant to put you in a box. Only folks that have a shallow understanding would put you in box. Though we all exhibit patterns of behavior, and self-expression. The zodiac signs are based on geometric points to showcase potentials over time.

Some people do judge others, but I for one have learned to understand people better from the beginning. I'm not assuming I know them, like how their childhood was or what they usually eat for dinner. I get a sense of their character and temperament. And I can decide for myself, after I get to know them a little better, if I want to keep in touch or distance myself. Most of the time it has nothing to do with who they are, it's about who I am. And I believe that at an unconscious level, we all do that, through judging. Some people just don't have this ability under control.

The way I see it.. if you think about it on a fundamental level, astrology is just a reflection of the rhythms of the earth and how they influence a developing mind to form its personality.
This is especially apparent with the sun sign; the sun influences the seasons, the seasons influence the weather and how we react to our environment, and a small little human brain soaks all those influences up and develops its identity around it.
That’s why Scorpio reflects the death cycle of summer into fall. That’s why Taurus reflects the sensual and creative principle of the first true buds of spring. That’s why Capricorn represents the hardship and struggle of the middle of winter. That’s why Leo represents the vibrancy, glow, and heat of summer.
Etc...
It’s all just rhythms and archetypes. Science is prone to looking down on it because it doesn’t value knowledge that does not fit into its systems. It’s just a different type of knowledge, one just as valid, albeit a bit more fluid.

I like looking into astrology and I find the whole idea kind of fun especially when I actually resonate well with my sign in some aspects. But just like religion, I'd rather not take anything too seriously and your sign or someone else's sign shouldn't limit what you can and cannot do in life. At least that's my personal take.

I came across astrology late in my life and I have to say I was blown away. All the study of my theme was done by myself and I never paid anyone for information. Being of a very introspective nature but also very skeptical, as always I decided to see for myself the veracity or not of this field. I tell you without any hesitation, my birth chart carries with it my personality and my wounds and even my family history. And it really came as a shock to realize that astrology was so much more than a story of fake clairvoyant horoscopes and quack predictions. Even things that didn't make me happy and yet were necessary for me to understand. I'm really sad that people aren't more curious than that, a saying goes that there are two ways of looking at life, the first is that everything is a miracle, the other that nothing ever is . I don't think either of them is really right.

Kind of disappointed you didn't cover natal charts. What made me a believer was looking at my natal chart. Your birth actually consists of several different signs, and depending on which of the 12 houses those are based in, can clearly spell out your personality. It's not just a 1 in 12 thing. It's 1 in millions of different combinations that makes us how we are. There are scientists who believe that we are made out of stars, in a sense. I believe that astrology maybe can't predict stuff like it tries to do in horoscopes (like "you're going to find the love of your life tomorrow") but it definitely affects people's personality and behavior.

For instance, there really is a statistically significant percentage of those with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder being born between January-March, and this was discovered back in the 90's. It's only now that it's being looked at again instead of dismissed. There are theories that it could be linked to lack of vitamin D in winter months prior to or just past birth. Or perhaps the increase in flu cases during the winter months could be part of it. Or something else that hasn't been thought of yet.
Mental illness is incredibly complicated already, between genetics and environment. But if there are other factors involved, it's good to take a look. I'd rather it be investigated, than dismissed as woo-woo because it might be seen as giving legitimacy to astrology.
If it turns out that giving pregnant moms and babies an extra shot of vitamin D would help bring those percentages down, then that's a whole generation of people that got missed because it was summarily dismissed until now.

We literally have the essence of stars and the power of the universe flowing in our bodies. So while I'm not exactly the kind of person who looks into a crystal ball with dreads, I think we're far more connected than we realize.
Plus there's the whole "the moon affects our water and we're 70% water" shpiel. However I personally am content to accept that astrology isn't quite a science, and never really will be. In my eyes, it kind of sits between religion and science. A middle ground, if you will.

It's called jyotish shastr and the very first text or scripture on astronomy is Surya Siddhanta. Read about it, also I am not a fan of western astrology because people just know the very basics of what it's about and they try it out. People use it nowadays to earn money rather than solve problems which was originally why it was derived. Like I said, read about Indian Vedic Scriptures although it would take you more than one lifetime to go through all of them.

This comment will probably get buried but if anyone is interested, look into vedic astrology. That method reads the sky differently so your sun sign will seem whacky, but it's even more in depth then western astrology. They have divisional charts, dasas, nakshatra, etc, and is a little more scientific then just seeing your chart and houses since they also calculate things about early/later life and time periods within your life.

Not the candy astrologies you see on the web all the time. You need to have your horoscope done by a professional using your birthdate, location, and time of birth. Through that, I learned that I have Venus in the second house, this explained why I care so much about making my surroundings and atmosphere beautiful and love to buy things like beautiful antique furnitures, flowers, luxury curtains etc. to make my surroundings beautiful. Venus in the second house also advice a career that involve arts and beauty. This explained why I love to sing and wanted to become a fashion designer and singer. These comes naturally and I know that I will benefit in those fields.
I also have Saturn in the eighth house, which states a hard childhood and lifelong struggles. This is very true for me as I had a very tough childhood and I am struggling with things that I could never get rid off or fix, that’s keeping me from happiness. They will probably last a lifetime. It also predict death by violence. John F. Kenny has Saturn in the 8th house. Its a hard life with Saturn in the 8th house.
You can have traits of other signs as well depending on your charts and planets during the time of your birth. Astrology can explain why you are how you are and give good advice of what to do with your life.

They aren't hurting anyone (if they don't use it as an excuse), on the contrary, it gives them confidence ("I know I will be good with artsy stuff") and security because they feel understood and feel like they have an explanation (and if they look into astrology that intensely they probably needed that feeling).
It may not be fully scientific, but science is there to help people. Why shouldn't psychology/astrology be?
Birth charts are not about explaining what that person with that zodiac sign has what other signs don't have! It is about finding the traits that stick out and that are more relevant for that person's life. Astrology is made to give people a start to learn about themselves, not to seperate them from others.
Don't take that chance from others just because you don't choose that start yourself, it's as valid as any other way

edit: I was raised with it and know a lot more than most people (grew spiritual, etc...). I know that Astrology is so much deeper than what people put on social media. It's more than the idealism on social media (It telling you about your love life, etc...). Yes, you could see about your love life but Astrology is for self discovery, self-understanding and to know the shadow part of us and whatever else there is, everyone can use Astrology for whatever they want. Another thing that a lot of people don’t understand is that just because u are born in a certain time frame doesn’t mean u will have every trait of that sign. Depending on where the other planets and stars are aligned also impacts fate and traits. Like I was born an Aries but due to where other planets were located I have very little Aries too me. It explains why I have so many Virgo and Sagg traits

Nah. From my experience, its the sun. I've seen too many go into relationships and click with people based on that, only for them to form a deeper relationship and their incompatible sun signs ruin things.
I'll give an example, my friend is a taurus sun, Leo moon and rising. Say hypothetically, she runs into a triple sagittarius (sun, moon and rising). Based on compatibility, they should be good together if we take your theory into consideration, but i know her well and she might attract that sagittarius, but she is very stubborn, not very receptive to change, won't travel spontaneously, can be selfish when it comes to her comfort, is stingy with her possessions, and has a more materialistic mindset. None of these things are compatible with the sagittarius personality.

I use astrology as a map for people’s personalities coz I don’t know how to properly interact with others without unintentionally offending them. It never failed once haha the only reason why astrology garnered a terrible reputation is coz people only use the sun signs and it put people in small narrow boxes, when in reality there’s a bunch of stuff underneath that. You have a whole chart for you, basics include your rising, sun and moon and that could be any sign so you may be an aries but act like a virgo and feel like a cancer. there’s also the houses, degrees and etc so no one is the exact same. Because there are people who try to push it as a science (for real). To be scientific you need a whole lot of factors, and Astrology has as much as the Flat Earth in SCIENTIFIC terms (long long story about what science theories, observations and etc. mean). That, however, does not give anyone the right to mock or diminish your beliefs. I think it's a case where the scarce understanding that people generally have of what science means is shown, and the own people who should teach and explain it instead are just rude and arrogant. Also, there's a reason why people wrongly think it's science, and it has to do with their governments bad educational programs (or not good enough) and the scientists theirselves (that don't dialogue enough with society, especially physicists)

Also I agree it would be something worth looking into I would love to see the outcome. I do think Astrology, like other factors plays a bigger role in our lives, than what we allow ourselves to believe and not for any specific reason. It just seems that there's been several times through out history where we thought we had things all figured out, and years down the road we find out new information that proves us to be completely wrong and throws us back to square 1 or draws us too another conclusion. I wouldn’t let astrology rule over my life. I think it is fun and interesting. What I LOVE about astrology is the IDEA of having a direct connection with the stars and other planets, with nature and so on. That’s what makes it so amazing, I think.

how do you really have a direct connections with the starts. some of those stars could have been dead millions of years ago the day you were born, but it took the light to reach earth that long (giving you the illusion that they still exist). Astrology is nothing but idiocy.

I'm a science nerd and love astrophysics, it fascinates, interests and scares me at the same time. I can listen to someone explaining anything from theory of relativity to gravitational fields and time warps for hours, but this does not automatically mean that I am not allowed to believe in something that we don't fully understand or can't prove. This universe is full of things, which don't have a rational explanation. Why not open our minds a little bit more and accept a fact that we don't and can't know everything. The question is how much accurate and real is what we know? Science elitists are snobbish and narrow minded, self-righteous fanatics who don't leave a room for doubt. It's easy to hate something we don't understand. This world is NOT just black and white and even science is based on lots of theories. Not believing in something does not mean it might not exist (or vice versa), just like absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
What's ironic is that science itself takes faith. Science rests on axioms and assumptions as well.

A theory isn't something that some people believe. It's a well-build structure of thinking based on thing that you know you can prove in a scientific way. i always try to explain this to people, ive been slowly studying astrology more and more over the past 5 years and i don’t necessarily believe in it on a scientific standpoint but i love it so much because as someone who has struggled with social connections and verbalizing what’s going on in my head, it helps to give me a language that has helped me open up and discover myself and lean into who i am.

Astrology has nothing to do with seasonal personality effects. Opposite signs would experience the same effects on the opposite hemisphere. Also, what about those born on the equator?

In my teens, way before l learned about astrology, l was doing a quiz with a friend and he said he wanted to be king of the jungle. I said why? I’d never want that, it’s so pretentious, and cliché, and who has the time? l’d rather swing in a tree or swim down a river. This personality fits my Aries Sun.
Years later l started learning about astrology and l learned that that friend had a Virgo Sun. There wasn’t much to note regarding him and his sign. A year on maybe l learned about all the planets in one’s natal chart. And l noticed that friend has LEO Mercury, so he may not BE a Leo, but he THINKS like a Leo, because Mercury is the way you think. So obviously he wants to be king of the jungle.
Just like mike Tyson, he’s a Cancer so he’s more emotional, sensitive, round features, round shoulders and pecs, and a youthful energy but LEO MERCURY, he thinks like a lion, he’s dominant.
And then there’s Donald Trump with Mercury in Cancer, he thinks and talks like an infant lol.

When I was little, I read up on Scorpio because people around me, without knowing when I was born, kept asking me if I was a Scorpio since I seemed very Scorpionic. I never trusted horoscopes since I found them so vague and nor care about trying to predict things anyways, but I did find an uncanny resemblance with myself and what was described in Scorpio. I later learned what cold reading was and how astrology and especially horoscopes use it to get broad, vague, but somewhat accurate predictions and got diagnosed with autism.
Me having little to no interest in people, only ever read Scorpio and did use it to gain a pretty good understanding of myself pretty early on. Once my little interests in people started to give me problems, the ideas sparked through reading Scorpio did give me some language to work off of that did end up serving me quite well. Ideas such as intimacy, layers or protective walls, intensity, and natural "sting" against people I felt no connection to became handy when trying to navigate through the backwardness of social interaction and culture, as well as my natural tendency to be off putted by things others find attracting and vice versa.
While I think this astrology stuff is mostly pretentious and non-scientific, I think there is some value in the ideas it raises and language it contains in order to achieve self-discovery and social understanding and navigation, but I never counted on this stuff on its own as I read up basically anything for me to understand the ever ubiquitous and ever backwards social sphere.

Learning astrology gave me better empathy. Not because of how accurate it is but the fact that we should accept everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses and differences in the way that they are born and the life they have experienced.
My grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, "If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately." Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me, "Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your video gave me cancer anyway.
