Currently building my wife's Stella, turning into something beyond reason. Because WHY NOT?!?
Episode 8: Full build of the Stella engine with a stroked Polini 177 cast iron cylinder. The results are stunning and the entire build was a lot of fun. Especially tickling out the extra power out of an otherwise underrated cylinder made for a big challenge. Excited to see what the dyno says.

I am no mechanic. However, all my bikes that I have build, raced and won awards with have held up. So far, so good. At the end, we just build some stupid scooters that go way too fast!

I grew up in Italy, I would build a Vespa engine in 1 day .. why did it take weeks to build ? My favorite racing parts were Pinassco .. I had more fun building a small frame Vespa instead of big frame .. 25 years ago on a small frame we would build a 181cc , we would cut crank for advancement, bore crank case out , 4 disc clutch,straight teeth pinassco gear, lighting up the flywheel and balance, shaving the head to get more compression and would modify the collector to fit a motorcycle Honda carburetor.. my friends and I would beat motorcycles off the start.. Vespa primavera 3 gear would wheelie just on acceleration in 3rd gear same with the pk series 4 gear... one time I did a double spark plug head with dual coils , it worked excellent but blew the the engine quickly.. I experimented with friends with all types of modifications .. like your work keep it up .. this video brought back memories

i fell in love with scooters around 79 , as an 8yr old kid in Leicester i looked up to my mates older brothers who were all mods and rude-boys ,i would be buzzing if they'd take me round the block and would pester one then the other relentlessly until someone would utter the magic words 'get on then' when i hit 16 i got my first one !! PK50 XL about 4 of us had one and we would go everywhere on em albeit at 30-38mph !!! i have a T5 classic now , standard apart from a pm tuning pipe , it's all about that sound and on this video it demonstrates that perfectly , i can hear one from up the road and know what it is just from that , it's a lifestyle not just a scooter , thanks for posting enjoyed it ...........

it 150cc 8bhp i am running in 21 teeth
with malossi clutch plates.i want rebuild
to 177cc polini cylinder kit with 30mm
polini carburettor with reed valve.
.what kind of clutch assembly go for?

Hey man, I’ve got a similar setup to this on my LML Stella, I need a new crank after the flywheel taper snapped in half on my mazzy bell crank. What’s your verdict on the worb5 cut version your using? I think these are still cut from Mazzucchelli cranks which I was hoping to avoid to be honest but options for reed valve are limited. Has yours lasted better than mine in the time you’ve used it? Cheers

Nice work! How did you get that main bearing to go in so easily? A couple of years ago I rebuilt my 150cc LML engine and it was a nightmare getting the main bearing in. I froze the bearing and heated the crankcase and it was still difficult. I ended up breaking one of the bearing stops on the crankcase where I hit it so hard.
The angle has to be just right, as soon as the ice cold bearing hits the hot cases they expand. So you get one shot. I have screwed up a few in my days, it comes with experience :D

Great Video ! Thx ! Is it better to use a whole Grand Sport Piston for the 177 or is it enough to use the Stock Polini Piston only with GS Rings ? What do you consider would be the optimal thing ? I really dont care about the Money, i just want the best possible Result. Greetz
The internet has told me that anything above 65% exhaust port width may result in the original rings catching
They are still the 2mm thick ones but a different steel.
If you need a full piston go small ring GS. But also at some point a mild aluminum kit becomes financially more attractive then reworking a cast iron entirely.

Another Question, is the Pipedesign Cobra 177 Exhaust you have Stainless Steel and Single or Double Walled ? I want to order the same thing but i want exactly the same Sound you have because i have the same Setup ! Thanx in Advance dude !

Can PHBH carburettor conversion block be fitted to a lml Reed valve engine ? Or only rotary valve engine
MRP Racing makes on specifically for LML, the normal ones do not fit

Hi. Is this a difficult pipe to purchase living here in the US? Cost? I'd like to pick one of these up for my 2005 LML that I'm overhauling right now. Great looks. I was thinking of a Malossi 166, race crank, carb and new reeds but I'm looking into the Polini 177. Thanks!

@@ThatScooterThing cool I just got to a Stella 2 stroke 150 when I shift into gear makes a loud click noise do I need a new clutch but once it goes into gear everything smooth just clicks hard into gear
